Chapter 115: Ethan's Danger

The middle-aged man slowly landed in front of Jake and said calmly:

"If you want your daughter to stay alive, you'd better behave."

"This cage is special. Only if you have enough power can you break free. And only then will your daughter live."

"Did you understand?"

Jake nodded quickly, his eyes full of determination. All he wanted now was to keep his daughter alive.

He looked at his daughter, who was trapped on the ground and couldn't move. He took a deep breath and looked at Dr. Axel and Emma.

He quickly said: "Mr. Lucas, Doctor, I'm begging you."

"I know you can make me stronger. Please, I can't let Molly get hurt by these guys!"

"Please!"

Dr. Axel sighed and said slowly: "You should know the Ice Virus is alive. It has a mind of its own. We can make you stronger, but you'll lose all your mind and become a real monster."

Jake didn't hesitate at all. "I know. I just want to save my daughter. She's only eight years old, and she's been sick with a brain tumor for three years."

"Her biggest wish is just to be like a normal kid."

"Doctor, after I'm gone, will you keep studying the Ice Virus? Can you find a new medicine to help Molly?"

Dr. Axel nodded heavily.

As long as he was alive, he would find every way possible to cure Molly, Ethan, and all the other patients.

That was his original dream, and it would never change.

Emma sighed. She didn't know if the device would hurt Jake badly after it was activated, but she had no choice.

She and Dr. Axel were just ordinary people. Against these kidnappers who had superhuman powers, they had no chance to fight back.

Only monsters could fight monsters.

Emma clenched her fists. If she could survive this, she would try everything to get the power to protect herself.

Soon, Emma and Dr. Axel started to act.

Jake was injected with all kinds of medicine, and weak electric currents were sent through his body to help his cells absorb the medicine faster.

As Jake's strength grew, the temperature around him started to drop.

On the iron cage, ice began to form.

The middle-aged man saw this and quickly stood up. He walked to the cage and stared at the ice with a look of excitement and fascination.

He raised his arms and shouted loudly: "The Ice Redemption is coming! The Rebel of God will die!"

All the guards around him copied him, raising their arms and shouting together:

"The Ice Redemption is coming! The Rebel of God will die!"

"The Ice Redemption is coming! The Rebel of God will die!"

...

In the loud, excited shouts, more and more ice appeared, as if it was responding to them.

At the peak of the excitement, someone ran in quickly and shouted: "Sir, something's wrong! The Faceless have come!"

The middle-aged man looked reluctantly at the ice, then slowly raised his head and looked toward the ground. His voice was cold and cruel as he said:

"Tell everyone—no matter the cost, we must stop those damn Faceless!"

"Remember, death isn't the end. We will be blessed by the gods, and one day, we will rise again in the Kingdom!"

Then, many guards quietly repeated: "Death is not the end. We will surely be blessed by the gods."

Their spirits were high, and there was no fear of death on their faces. They grabbed all kinds of weapons and left the place.

The battle started in an instant!

Ethan heard the sound of guns and explosions. He suddenly looked up and saw the bald man near the door.

Without hesitation, the bald man pulled out a long knife and walked quickly toward Ethan, muttering:

"Death is not the end. We will surely be blessed by the gods."

He reached Ethan and smiled with a scary face, saying: "Die!"

At that moment, Ethan pushed off the wall with his right foot and quickly moved his arm toward the other end of the steel rod.

"Plop!"

"Clang!"

The sound of his arm pulling free from the wall and the sound of the knife hitting the wall happened almost at the same time.

Ethan crouched down, holding a fruit knife, and cut a big hole in the bald man's belly.

But the wound was healing quickly, right in front of their eyes!

The bald man looked in disbelief at his stomach and his face turned very angry. He turned around quickly, ready to cut Ethan down.

But at that moment, Ethan had already adjusted his body.

He used one hand to support himself, then kicked with both feet, flying fast toward the bald man's chest.

The bald man didn't even try to dodge. He shouted: "You're not strong enough! You're just a normal person!"

"Die!"

Right after he said that, Ethan's feet kicked hard into his chest.

The huge force sent the bald man flying backward, and he quickly hit the wall.

He widened his eyes and slowly looked down. He saw the steel rod going through his chest and then looked up at Ethan, who was rushing toward him.

He felt death was about to come.

That kick had definitely been way beyond human strength!

He couldn't understand how Ethan had suddenly become so strong.

The bald man still tried to fight back. He waved his long knife, trying to stop Ethan from getting closer.

But Ethan had already seen through his attack. He shook his body slightly and easily avoided the knife.

Ethan's fruit knife lightly cut across the bald man's hand, cutting through the tendons.

Immediately, the bald man dropped his knife.

Ethan seemed to have expected this. Before the knife hit the ground, he reached out and grabbed it.

Then he turned quickly and swung the knife.

A sharp flash of light!

A thin line of blood slowly appeared on the bald man's neck. He coughed up blood and said in a broken voice:

"Who... are you..."

"Thud." The sound of his head hitting the ground echoed in the dark room.

Blood rained down from the ceiling, like red rain.

Ethan wiped blood off his face and looked down at the knife in his hand. His eyes showed a little surprise.

This knife was much sharper than he had expected.

To make sure the bald man was really dead, Ethan raised the knife again and completely destroyed his heart.

He quickly ran out of the room, listening to the sounds around him, and headed for the exit.

As he was running, a sharp, painful whistle suddenly rang in his ears.

Ethan jumped forward and landed behind a pile of old wooden boards.

A sharp arrow flew past his clothes, barely missing him.

He barely avoided the attack.

He looked down and saw that the arrow had cut through his pocket. The USB drive and the glass tube were gone.

Ethan looked at the ground nearby and saw the USB drive lying there, but the glass tube was rolling toward a pipe opening.

Thankfully, it finally stopped at the entrance and didn't fall in.

Ethan let out a sigh of relief. But just as he was about to get up, another arrow flew toward him.

Now he was stuck behind the wood, unable to move.

At that moment, the wind and snow outside suddenly became stronger. It blew away a piece of metal on the roof of the factory.

A cold wind howled in, and it blew the glass tube right into the pipe.

At the same time, Ethan heard several footsteps coming from his right.

He knew that if he stayed like this, he would be dead for sure.

He took a deep breath, looked at the pipe nearby, and after a quick thought, he ran out from behind the cover and dashed toward the pipe entrance.

"Swish!"

"Swish!"

Two more arrows came flying. Ethan raised the blade of his long knife and turned his body slightly, trying to keep his whole body behind the knife.

"Clang!"

One arrow hit the knife and made a clear sound.

The other hit his right shoulder, piercing through his flesh.

But at that moment, Ethan jumped forward and successfully fell into the pipe.

With no target to aim at, the enemies could only shoot arrows into the pipe based on the sounds coming from inside, hoping to hit Ethan.

Ethan wasn't stupid. He threw his fruit knife toward the entrance of the pipe.

The knife landed inside and made a noise. Right away, arrows flew in, hitting the metal pipe.

By the time the enemies realized they had been tricked, Ethan had already moved a long way down the pipe.

No one knew where this pipe led. Ethan crawled for a while but saw no end.

He tried to find the glass tube, but he didn't realize it had been rolling all the way down the pipe.

Every time the tube slowed down, a cold wind would blow and push it forward.

Soon, it rolled into a vent, right above where Axel and Emma were.

After so much rolling, the cap of the tube had become loose.

At that moment, another cold wind blew, and the cap suddenly popped open.

The blue substance inside slowly dripped out.

Axel and Emma, who were focused on helping Jake, didn't notice anything strange.

They were watching the ice covering the outside of the cage, feeling very nervous.

The ice now completely covered the cage, and they couldn't see what was inside. They could only check Jake's vital signs through the machine.

"Crack!"

Suddenly, a loud sound of ice breaking rang out!
