Chapter 316: Dragon Pearl, Devouring Dragon Pulse
The Core God was powerful, but under Johnnie's endless Nine Heavens Tribulation Lightning and strong Forbidden Spells, Vorak was already at his last strength.
"Close call!"
Johnnie wasn't relaxed at all. His head ached badly. If Vorak had hit him with another soul attack, he might have been finished for good.
His current strength was enough to fight a Core God, but his soul was still a weakness.
He needed to find a way to improve his Soul Intensity.
Johnnie snapped back to reality. This battle had been tough, but he had gained a lot.
Killing a Core God gave him a direct boost of one million to his four basic stats, and his overall strength had increased by 50%. His power had grown once again.
Huff...
Hellfire was still burning. It was a continuous skill and wouldn't disappear for a while.
Johnnie didn't care. He took the huge black dragon's body and checked the loot.
There was a Core God divine essence, and a crystal ball that looked a little like the one in the cave. But the energy inside it wasn't as strong as the one in the cave.
Curious, Johnnie checked it.
[Dragon Pearl: The core of dragon power, filled with strong dragon energy]
This was a Dragon Pearl.
That meant the crystal ball in the cave was also a Dragon Pearl. But what was Dragon Pulse?
Johnnie was confused. He turned and walked deeper into the cave.
Vorak was dead, and the Dragon King was gone. The rest of the dragon warriors were just Half-Gods and Lesser Gods, who couldn't really threaten him anymore.
The cave was broken but still standing, not completely collapsed.
Deep inside the cave, there was still strong energy moving around.
Johnnie appeared again. The dragon warriors around him, who were absorbing the Dragon Pearl's energy, looked surprised.
"Human, you're still alive? Where is Vorak?" one of the dragon warriors asked angrily, staring at Johnnie.
"Dead."
He spoke coldly. "Tell me where the Dragon King is, and I might let you live."
"What?"
"No way! Vorak was a Core God. You couldn't have killed him!"
...
Loud roars filled the air. Some of the dragon warriors stopped absorbing the Dragon Pearl's power and turned their eyes toward Johnnie with killing intent, ready to attack at any moment.
Johnnie didn't care. He spoke again, coldly, "I don't have much patience. This is your last chance to live."
"You're asking for death!" One of them shouted, and immediately attacked. His dragon spear flew through the air, aiming straight for Johnnie.
This guy was only a Lesser God—way weaker than Vorak.
Johnnie just laughed. He didn't move, and kept his body in Vajra Indestructibility.
Clang!
A loud impact echoed. Golden light flashed around Johnnie. He took a few steps back, but was completely unharmed.
"Looks like that's your answer." he said coldly, and without wasting words, raised his hand and launched the Myriad Sword Technique.
Thousands of sword beams lit up the cave. Lightning from the Nine Heavens Tribulation filled the air, shooting through the walls and crashing down.
Boom boom...
Thunder rolled, and the sound of explosions kept coming. The dragon warriors were quickly swallowed by the attack, their cries echoing through the cave.
The Nine Heavens Tribulation Lightning was strong enough to beat Vorak. These weak dragon warriors had no chance at all.
Roar!
The sound of dragon cries filled the cave as the warriors transformed into their true forms.
But the cave was too small. Their huge dragon bodies couldn't move, and they became easy targets. Sword beams and tribulation lightning kept hitting them.
[Ding, You have killed a Half-God dragon. Four basic attributes +10,000]
[You have now reached stage 6, level 10. You can no longer gain experience. Please advance as soon as possible.]
[God-killing power activated. Your stats permanently increased by 10%]
...
The system messages kept popping up. The dragon warriors fell one after another, and under the endless tribulation lightning, they were completely helpless.
Even the Lesser Gods couldn't withstand Johnnie's attacks.
Soon, the sword beams faded, and the lightning disappeared.
Johnnie didn't finish them all. He left two Lesser God dragon warriors alive.
At this moment, the two dragon warriors were lying in a pool of blood, breathing heavily, and too injured to fight back.
Johnnie spoke coldly, "Talk. Where is the Dragon King?"
The two looked at each other, their faces full of fear. They both shook their heads quickly.
"Looks like you really don't care about dying." Johnnie said, his eyes turning colder.
The two trembled and immediately dropped to their knees.
"Lord, it's not that we don't want to tell you. We really don't know where the Dragon King is. He brought us here and said he had something to do. He didn't tell us where he went." one of them quickly said.
The other nodded in agreement.
Johnnie frowned. From the way the two acted, it didn't seem like they were lying.
This was really a problem.
The Dragon King still had that broken sword. He could open it anytime, and summon the Lizardmen again.
Those guys were strange, with special powers. Besides him, no one in the Land of Confusion, or even the whole Universe Continent, could deal with them.
And if the Spirit Race attacked in large numbers, he wouldn't be able to stop them either.
The Dragon King had to be eliminated.
Johnnie looked at the two again and asked, "Where might the Dragon King have gone?"
The two shook their heads again.
"The Dragon King's movements have always been mysterious. And he's working with the Spirit Race. We didn't even know about it. If we had, we would never have allowed it. We dragons are also part of the life on the Universe Continent. We wouldn't let this place be destroyed."
The other quickly added, "Maybe the Dragon King went to find the Dragon Pulse, or he left this Dragon's Lair."
Johnnie looked at the Dragon Pearl on the stone table and asked, "Where is the Dragon Pulse?"
This Dragon Pearl had strong power, but it wasn't the Dragon Pulse.
The two shook their heads again.
"Lord, we don't know. The Dragon King once said that this mountain is the Dragon Pulse. But we have no idea how to get it."
The whole mountain was the Dragon Pulse?
Johnnie had thought the same thing.
He thought to himself and called out to Coco:
"Coco, this mountain is the Dragon Pulse. Can you add it to the Map of Heaven and Earth?"
After a while, Coco's voice echoed in his mind:
"It should be possible. The mountain is big, but as long as we use some energy, with help from Skye and Aureon, it's not a problem."
"Okay, then devour this mountain." Johnnie thought, ready to open the Map of Heaven and Earth.
But Coco's voice came again:
"Sir, no. You need to open the Map of Heaven and Earth at the top of the mountain."
Johnnie nodded. He looked at the two Lesser God dragon warriors and his killing intent filled the air.
These two weren't useful anymore. If he killed them, he might trigger the God-killing Power.
Getting stronger by killing a Lesser God was still a big gain.
The two seemed to sense his intention and quickly said:
"Lord, we're willing to follow you. We'll sign a soul contract and swear loyalty to you forever!"
"Hm?"
Johnnie raised an eyebrow. He was a little tempted.
His power had grown, but the strong people around him were only Maiev and a few others, all Half-Gods.
As for Eternal Wood Emperor, he was injured and wasn't much stronger than a Lesser God.
"Then, sign the soul contract." Johnnie said coldly.
The two didn't hesitate at all. They immediately signed the soul contract.
Boom!
Two waves of soul power surged, forming a master-servant bond. The contract was completed smoothly with Johnnie.
Their names were Yuvan and Sion. They were both strong among the dragons.
Johnnie quickly learned more about the dragon race.
Besides the Dragon King and Vorak, there were two more Core Gods, but they hadn't joined this fight. They were guarding the Dragon Island instead.
According to what the two said, the Dragon King had teamed up with the Lizardmen. They knew about it.
So these two would also have to die.
But Johnnie didn't want to kill them now. Facing one Core God had almost killed him. Fighting two at once would be a death sentence.
He needed to absorb the Dragon Pulse, and quickly raise his Soul Intensity, before dealing with the rest of the problems here.
Johnnie pulled himself back to the present and looked at the Dragon Pearl on the stone table. He stepped forward to take it, but was pushed back by an invisible force.
"Lord." Yuvan said, "there's a special protection spell here. It only lets you absorb the Dragon Pearl's power, not enter the area."
Johnnie nodded and tried a few times. It was true—he couldn't get in.
He wasn't worried. As long as he added the whole mountain to the Map of Heaven and Earth, the Dragon Pearl would be included too.
The Dragon Pearl was full of power, and it would definitely help in hatching the dragon egg.
"Let's leave this place." Johnnie said, leading the two out of the cave and back to the mountain peak.
The mountain was surrounded by thick clouds, and the wind howled. The ground was covered with dead Lizardmen.
Yuvan and Sion stared in shock.
They hadn't fought the Lizardmen before, but they knew how terrifying they were.
The Spirit Race was a type of Interstellar Raiders, and they had special powers. They could absorb and destroy any kind of energy. They were almost unstoppable.
But now, all the Lizardmen were dead, and even the space rift had closed.
Johnnie ignored the two's shock. He focused and opened the Map of Heaven and Earth. A strong, terrifying force spread out, covering the whole mountain.
"Coco." he asked, "can you feel the Dragon King's presence?"
"No." came Coco's voice. "This mountain has no other life signs except for you and your group."
So the Dragon King had really left.
Johnnie sighed and sat down in meditation, waiting for Coco to bring the whole mountain into the Map of Heaven and Earth.
Boom... boom...
A huge force surrounded the mountain, and it began to shake and rumble.
Yuvan and Sion hid behind Johnnie, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.
From the Map of Heaven and Earth, they could feel some terrifying presences. It felt like even a single thought from those forces could erase them.
Time passed slowly. The mountain shook harder, and a faint dragon roar echoed through the air.
"Hmm, this mountain is alive?" Johnnie asked, confused.
Yuvan and Sion shook their heads. They didn't know either.
Boom...
Then, the mountain slowly rose into the air, slowly disappearing into the Map of Heaven and Earth.
Other than the dragon roar, nothing else happened.
