Chapter 314: Maxed-Out Forbidden Spell, Dragon Pulse Appears
"No way!" The Lizardman leader refused immediately. Without the Skye shield, it couldn't block the Nine Heavens Tribulation Lightning. It would die for sure.
"Then there's nothing to talk about." Johnnie said, not wanting to waste words. Even if he couldn't kill the guy, he would get the Skye shield no matter what.
A storm of sword beams filled the sky, and endless lightning from the heavenly tribulation came down.
"Damn it!" The Lizardman leader cursed again. At this point, it had stopped attacking and was using the Skye shield to try to block the lightning as best as it could.
Plop...
Blood sprayed everywhere as sword beams hit, and damage numbers flashed on the screen.
Johnnie's sword beams and Seven Sword attacks only did over a million damage each. That wasn't enough to threaten the Lizardman leader, so it stopped even trying to block and just let the attacks hit.
"Hmm, there's a chance!"
Johnnie's eyes lit up. He didn't care about the mana cost anymore and used the Myriad Sword Technique to the max. The Nine Heavens Tribulation Lightning kept falling, and the Seven Sword circled around the Lizardman leader, attacking wildly.
"Human, I already told you. You can't kill me. When your power runs out, you'll die for sure." the Lizardman leader said coldly, holding up the Skye shield to block the heavenly tribulation.
Johnnie didn't even respond. Since the Lizardman leader wasn't attacking him anymore, he immediately deactivated the Vajra Indestructibility and used the Myriad Sword Technique. It cost 100,000 mana points every second.
But his mana was already at an insane one hundred and forty million. And it was restoring 1% every second — that's over a million every second. The cost of the Myriad Sword Technique was nothing.
The battle went on. Another half day passed.
Both of them were almost numb. Neither could hurt the other anymore.
And the Seven Sword's Instant Kill effect still hadn't triggered.
Johnnie started to wonder — was this guy immune to the Instant Kill effect?
But after fighting this long, he wasn't going to give up.
Johnnie gritted his teeth and kept attacking. Thousands of sword beams flashed, and more lightning kept falling.
At this point, the Lizardman leader was sitting cross-legged, with the Skye shield above its head, blocking the lightning.
Crack!
Suddenly, a light sound rang out, and both of them heard it clearly.
"Uh?" The Lizardman leader's face changed. The shield in its hand was starting to crack under the constant attacks from the heavenly tribulation.
Johnnie's eyes lit up. The Skye shield was strong, but it was starting to fail under all the lightning.
He felt a little worried.
Would the Skye shield break?
If it did, Skye might kill him. The shield could be lost, and maybe it would never be found again. That would be a big problem.
At that moment, the Lizardman leader looked terrified. It stared at the thin cracks appearing on the shield above its head. It looked like it could break at any moment.
It gritted its teeth and said, "Human, let me go. I'll give you the shield."
"Dream on!" Johnnie hesitated for a second, then refused quickly.
Even if he destroyed the Skye shield, he would still kill this guy.
He could just say he couldn't find it. He didn't believe Skye would really kill him.
"Damn it!" The Lizardman leader shouted, no longer calm. It tried to block the falling lightning and rushed toward a nearby space rift.
If it got into the rift, it would be safe.
But Johnnie didn't give it a chance. He moved fast and blocked the way. His attacks became even fiercer.
Plop...
Blood sprayed everywhere. The Lizardman leader's health dropped to zero.
It was the Instant Kill effect of the Seven Sword. Johnnie was happy.
Finally, it triggered!
"How could this happen…?" The Lizardman leader stared in shock, eyes wide with fear and disbelief. Its gaze went blank, and it fell to the ground.
[Ding, you defeated The Lesser God Lizardman, +100,000 to four basic attributes]
[You have reached Stage 6, Level 10. You can no longer gain experience. Please complete your advancement as soon as possible]
[God-killing power activated. Your own attributes have increased by 20% permanently]
The message screen flashed. Johnnie let out a long breath and sat down on the ground.
The battle had been extremely hard, especially using the Myriad Sword Technique. It had taken a lot out of him mentally.
But at least, the Instant Kill effect of the Seven Sword had finally worked.
This guy was so strong, but it was only a Lesser God level opponent.
Johnnie had a feeling that the Lizardman leader could easily kill even a normal Highgod-level enemy.
It just got unlucky — it met him. Otherwise, the Land of Confusion would have been in big trouble.
At that moment, the Lizardman leader died, and the space rift slowly closed and disappeared.
It looked like the Lizardman was the one keeping the rift open. Once it died, it had no more power to hold it, so the space started to heal and the rift closed.
Johnnie didn't care too much. He took a short break, then stood up and went to the Lizardman leader's body. He picked up the Skye shield and checked it.
The shield had lots of cracks from the heavenly tribulation attacks, but it wasn't destroyed.
"Should be okay." he said to himself, but he still wasn't sure.
"Maybe I can just say it was destroyed by spatial turbulence." he told himself. He put the Skye shield into his bag, but didn't put it into The Map of Heaven and Earth.
Then he checked the items that dropped after the Lizardman leader died.
There was only one God-tier Skill Stone. That was it. No other items, not even any divine essence.
Maybe these Lizardmen were different. They could become gods without divine essence.
Also, his Lucky Master profession meant that killing monsters should always drop something.
But none of the Lizardmen dropped anything. It only dropped one God-tier Skill Stone after killing a hundred Stage 9 Legendary Lizardmen.
Still, he had killed tens of thousands of Lizardmen in this battle, and got thousands of Skill Stones.
Johnnie didn't think about it anymore. He started cleaning up the battlefield.
There were over 4,000 Skill Stones. That was enough to level up his other Forbidden Spells.
He didn't hesitate. He immediately used the Skill Stones to upgrade his Forbidden Spells.
Upgrading the Forbidden Spell made it much stronger, and the mana cost dropped a lot.
[Ding, you used a God-tier Skill Stone. The Myriad Phenomena has been upgraded to Level 2]
...
[Ding, you used a God-tier Skill Stone. The Myriad Phenomena has been upgraded to Level 10. Can't be upgraded further.]
[The Myriad Phenomena: Wood-type Forbidden Spell, Level 10 (Maxed Out).
It can trap enemies, like the Myriad Phenomena. It also deals 10% health damage per second, and no life recovery works.
It also costs 1% mana per second.]
Johnnie used up 888 God-tier Skill Stones to upgrade The Myriad Phenomena to max level.
Just like Vajra Indestructibility, it got a huge power boost, and the mana cost dropped to just 1%.
"Keep going!"
Johnnie was excited. He kept using the Skill Stones to upgrade his other Forbidden Spells.
[Ding, you used a God-tier Skill Stone. Water-Curtain Celestial Blossom! has been upgraded to Level 10. Can't be upgraded further.]
[Water-Curtain Celestial Blossom!: Water-type Forbidden Spell, Level 10 (Maxed Out).
It forms a huge water wall that blocks 1,000 times the damage of mana.
Mana cost: 10%.]
[Ding, you used a God-tier Skill Stone. Hellfire has been upgraded to Level 10. Can't be upgraded further.]
[Hellfire: Fire-type Forbidden Spell, Level 10 (Maxed Out).
It summons strong hellfire that deals 10,000% fire damage per second to enemies inside.
Duration, area, and power depend on the user's mental strength.
Mana cost: 10%.]
[Ding, you used a God-tier Skill Stone. Earth's Downfall has been upgraded to Level 10. Can't be upgraded further.]
[Earth's Downfall: Earth-type Forbidden Spell, Level 10 (Maxed Out).
The ground collapses, mountains fall, and all enemies in the area take 10,000% magic damage.
Mana cost: 10%.]
...
The message screen kept flashing. Johnnie used over 3,000 God-tier Skill Stones, and all his major Forbidden Spells were now at max level.
"Wow, so powerful!" His eyes shone with excitement.
His Forbidden Spells had become ten times stronger, and the mana cost had dropped by 90%.
That meant he could now use them freely, without worrying about mana.
At this point, he wasn't just a Lesser God-level fighter — he could even take on a Core God.
Johnnie tried to calm himself down and looked at the Lizardman leader's body.
Could the Mechanical Race turn this into a mechanical life form?
If so, his power would grow even more.
These Lizardmen were immune to all kinds of laws and could easily destroy other Divine powers at the same level.
And the Domain body of the Mechanical Race could also use their power.
"Let's try." Johnnie thought. He put the Lizardman leader's body and other Domain bodies into The Map of Heaven and Earth, and told the Mechanical Golem to take them to the Mecha Divine City for refining and transformation.
Buzz...
At that moment, a deep hum filled the air, along with a powerful energy surge and the sound of dragon roars.
Dragon Pulse!
Johnnie frowned and looked toward the source of the energy. It was coming from the head of the huge mountain.
It looked like the fleeing dragon warriors were trying to take control of the Dragon Pulse.
Johnnie's face turned cold. These dragons had teamed up with the Lizardmen — they deserved to die!
He moved quickly, using Fly with the Controlled Sword, and rushed toward the mountain's head.
Whoosh...
The wind howled, and the energy here was even more terrifying. It was thick, ancient, and carried a deep, old feeling.
Johnnie's expression grew serious. He could feel a real threat coming from this power.
He soon reached the base of the mountain and saw a huge cave. The terrifying energy was coming from inside.
He immediately used Vajra Indestructibility and entered the cave.
The cave was huge and deep, as if the whole mountain had been hollowed out.
Johnnie didn't face any danger and made his way to the back of the cave. Light flickered, and he saw a group of dragon warriors gathered there.
"Human, you're still alive!" One of them shouted angrily, staring at Johnnie.
It was Vorak, the Core God of the dragons.
Johnnie ignored him and looked around the cave. In the center stood a large stone platform, holding a bright, crystal-like ball. That was where the terrifying energy was coming from.
The dragon warriors were all sitting around the platform, absorbing and feeding on the energy from the ball.
Was this the Dragon Pulse?
Johnnie looked back at Vorak and asked coldly, "Where is the Dragon King?"
The Dragon King wasn't here.
"Haha." Vorak laughed coldly. "The Dragon King has already left. With the Spirit Race's broken sword, he can open a portal to the void anytime."
