Chapter 2: Chapter:2
"I need a crew of brave and skilled fighters!" Rocks declared, his eyes gleaming with ambition. His voice carried an air of dominance as he continued, "Next, I'll conquer the entire New World!"
"I will become the king of all pirates!"
In the past, Rocks had founded the Rocks Pirates for wealth.
But now, the crew's growth was astonishing, and Rocks had amassed more wealth than he could ever spend. As money overflowed, his ambitions shifted.
When wealth reaches a certain level, people begin to desire more—power, influence, or legacy. For Rocks, his growing empire demanded the ultimate prize.
Captain John grinned beside him. "The pirates of the New World tremble at your name, Captain! The Rocks Pirates are unstoppable!"
"One day, you'll reign as the king of the New World!"
Unlike Rocks, Captain John had no interest in ruling. His desires were simpler: endless treasure and a life of indulgence. He downed another gulp of liquor, feeling the burn in his stomach.
"As long as I stick with Rocks, the stronger this crew grows, the more treasure I'll get," John thought, his smile widening.
The two strode toward the village, where chaos was already unfolding.
In the village, the Rocks Pirates rampaged like wolves among sheep. The villagers, simple and unarmed, were no match for the ruthless pirates.
Slash!
Golden Lion Shiki's blade glinted in the sunlight as he cleanly slit a villager's throat. Blood splattered, and the body collapsed to the ground with a dull thud.
Casually flicking the blood off his blade, Shiki smirked cruelly. "Listen up, everyone! Hand over all your money and valuables! Resist, and you'll end up like this fool!"
The villagers cowered, trembling in fear. Tears streamed down their faces as they begged for mercy, but Shiki remained indifferent, puffing leisurely on his cigar.
All around, the pirates ransacked homes, smashing down doors and stealing anything of value. The unfortunate homeowners were beaten, kicked, or even killed without hesitation.
Gunfire echoed intermittently across the village, mingling with the desperate cries of the helpless.
The pirates piled up their loot—treasures, goods, even barrels of fine wine—while laughing and jeering.
Golden Lion Shiki lounged nearby, enjoying the spoils. Before long, a mound of treasure half as tall as a man had formed beside him.
Meanwhile, other prominent crew members, such as Whitebeard, Charlotte Linlin, Ochoku, and Silver Axe, were also amassing their share of riches, their grins stretching from ear to ear.
The streets filled with pirates, their distinct groups celebrating their haul.
"This village was a jackpot! When we get back to Beehive Island, I'm gonna treat myself to three bunny girls at once!"
"Only three? Looks like you're losing your edge!"
"Forget women! Cigars and fine wine are all I need. Those bar girls are nothing but trouble."
"Hah! You're scared a woman might stab you in your sleep. Coward!"
The pirates laughed and joked, reveling in their spoils. For them, indulgence was a way of life. After all, if they didn't enjoy their wealth now, they'd only die poor later.
But most pirates were reckless spenders, squandering their loot as fast as they stole it. Wealth without strength would only invite envy and betrayal from their own crewmates.
Amid the chaos, Rocks and Captain John finally entered the town.
Rocks glanced at the gathered loot and nodded in approval. "Not bad. Stick to the usual rules."
The pirates erupted in cheers.
"Captain Rocks is the best!"
Suddenly, a pirate froze, his eyes wide with shock. "Everyone... look over there!"
All heads turned toward the end of the street.
A figure emerged—a towering young man with bronze skin and muscles so defined he resembled a living statue of a bear.
Dragging behind him with one hand was a massive tiger, over ten meters long. The beast's striped brown-and-yellow coat shimmered in the sunlight, its sheer size dwarfing a small ship.
The pirates' jaws dropped.
"Who the hell is that?!"
"That guy's aura feels more terrifying than the tiger he's dragging!"
"Is he one of the villagers?! There's no way someone like him lives on this island!"
"He reminds me of Kaido—the same monstrous presence!"
The pirates' fear was palpable, sweat dripping down their faces as they instinctively gripped their weapons.
Golden Lion Shiki smirked, a glint of interest in his eyes. "Jihahaha! Now this is interesting. He's still young—his face is barely mature—but look at that raw power!"
Whitebeard chuckled, his grin widening. "This kid has potential. That aura alone is enough to intimidate most men."
Charlotte Linlin licked her lips, her eyes gleaming with desire. "A young, strong body... and handsome too. I like him."
Captain John leaned toward Rocks. "This one's a fighter, Captain. Should we recruit him?"
Rocks remained silent for a moment, his eyes narrowing with intrigue. "Let's watch first," he said calmly, though his curiosity was evident.
In the crowd of terrified villagers, a glimmer of hope appeared in their eyes as they saw the young man approach.
An elderly villager stepped forward, tears streaming down his face. His voice was filled with desperation as he cried out:
"Ares, please help us! Stop these pirates!"
