Onepiece: I Am Aizen, The Strongest Admiral

Chapter 68: Chapter 68 Headquarters In Shock

As Aizen returned to his office, his adjutant rushed to meet him, his face flushed with excitement. "Vice Admiral Aizen! This time, we've made history!"

Aizen, ever calm and composed, turned to him with a serene smile. "What's the matter?" he asked, his tone gentle, his scholarly demeanor far removed from the dominating presence he had shown earlier when speaking with the Golden Lion.

"Golden Lion! Under your leadership, the G3 branch defeated the Golden Lion and captured his entire crew!" The adjutant could barely contain his excitement, his legs trembling slightly.

The Golden Lion, one of the legendary pirates, was a figure who caused endless headaches for the Marine. Ever since he had single-handedly attacked Marineford and destroyed half of it, the Marine had labeled him as one of the most dangerous individuals alive. Eliminating someone like him seemed almost impossible—most branches wouldn't even dare to attempt it.

But now, not only had the Golden Lion come to them, but the G3 branch had managed to defeat him without significant injuries. It was an unprecedented victory.

Aizen, however, didn't react to the news with excitement. His first question was far removed from what the adjutant had expected. "What about our casualties?" he asked, his voice steady, his expression unwavering.

The adjutant froze for a moment, startled by the question. Most would have immediately celebrated the capture or death of the Golden Lion or asked about the spoils of victory. But Aizen's focus was entirely on the safety of his men.

"Vice Admiral Aizen," the adjutant replied, his voice filled with respect, "our side suffered zero deaths in this operation. It's all thanks to your leadership. More than 90% of the Golden Lion Pirates were killed, and the remaining 10% are incapacitated and receiving treatment at the Marine hospital. Once they recover, they'll be sent to Impel Down."

Aizen nodded, his calm demeanor unchanged. "Zero casualties. That's good to hear. As for the pirates, handle them as usual. I trust the headquarters will provide the necessary instructions."

The adjutant couldn't help but admire him even more. Most leaders wouldn't spare a thought for the lives of their subordinates, focusing instead on their own accolades. Yet, Aizen always prioritized the well-being of his men, earning their loyalty in return.

Hours later, the detailed report of the battle reached Marine Headquarters. When the news of the Golden Lion's defeat spread, it sent shockwaves through the upper ranks.

Inside the office of Fleet Admiral Kong, Sengoku and Zephyr stood in stunned silence, reviewing the report.

"The Golden Lion… defeated?" Sengoku muttered, his eyes scanning the document again and again as if expecting to find a mistake. "And not just defeated—completely overwhelmed. The G3 branch sustained almost no injuries, and Vice Admiral Aizen... beheaded him?"

The intelligence department had already confirmed the report multiple times, but Sengoku still found it hard to believe. Even he, one of the strongest Marines, couldn't guarantee a victory against the Golden Lion, let alone such a decisive one.

Zephyr, too, was struggling to process the information. "When I last trained Aizen, his strength was only at the level of an Admiral candidate. But now… he's not just at Admiral level—he's surpassed it. To think he could kill the Golden Lion in a single strike… It's unbelievable."

The room fell silent as the weight of the revelation sank in.

Sengoku finally broke the silence, his voice tinged with awe. "A twenty-year-old Admiral… if this report is true, then Aizen is a genius the likes of which the Marine has never seen. His strength and intellect… he could reshape the future of the world."

Zephyr's emotions were complex. As Aizen's former instructor, he felt a sense of pride in his student's achievements. Yet, the speed at which Aizen had grown left him feeling uneasy. He had trained countless Marines over the years, but none had ever risen so quickly, so effortlessly.

"Aizen…" Zephyr muttered under his breath. "You've become a monster in your own right."

Back at the G3 branch, Aizen stood by the window of his office, gazing out at the sea. His expression was calm, but his mind was already calculating his next moves.

The defeat of the Golden Lion was just one step in his plan. Soon, the entire world would know the name Aizen, and even the World Government would tremble before his power.
