Chapter 20: You're Still a Smart Guy
Brothers, let's stick together.
With remarkable coordination, Jon and Avdol attacked!
Rankyaku and swirling flames.
Wind fueled the fire, and fire took the shape of the wind!
For a moment, Ghiaccio and Risotto Nero were so overwhelmed that they couldn't lift their heads.
After persisting for a while, Risotto Nero, with a stern face, suddenly shouted, "I surrender!"
Ghiaccio looked at Risotto Nero in disbelief.
But Risotto Nero acted as if he hadn't seen it, raising his hands high.
"We've lost. We will do whatever you want!"
Jon signaled Avdol with his eyes to stop for now.
After a moment of contemplation, he spoke, "Very well. A wise man knows when to yield. We don't want unnecessary bloodshed either."
A hint of sarcasm flashed in Risotto Nero's eyes, but he remained composed. "You've won this battle. We have nothing to say."
"Captain!"
Ghiaccio rushed to Risotto Nero's side regardless of the situation.
Before he could ask anything, the fierce look in the other's eyes made him stop saying another word.
Jon smirked slightly.
"Risotto Nero, now we can have a proper conversation."
Risotto Nero remained silent for a few seconds, then sighed, "As I thought, you know everything."
"Risotto Nero, Stand name 'Metallica', and its ability is controlling magnetic fields to manipulate metal, weakness being its short range; Ghiaccio, Stand name 'White Album', and its ability is creating low-temperature zones, its only weakness lies in the respiratory port at the back of the neck."
Jon listed the names and Stands of the two individuals as if reciting something from the back of his head.
Their faces turned increasingly ugly, and Risotto Nero and Ghiaccio felt like they had been exposed completely.
No wonder they were always at a disadvantage; their underwear had long been shown!
Avdol couldn't help but marvel deep down but didn't show it.
Jon had countless tricks up his sleeve.
This little scene was just a drop in the bucket.
"Who the hell are you!"
Ghiaccio was extremely frustrated.
"You don't need to know who I am. You just need to know that you're no match for me."
Seeing the different expressions of the two, Jon changed the subject.
"I'm not interested in small fry. The person I'm looking for is Diavolo."
Diavolo?
Who the hell was that!
I don't even know anyone with that name!
And what do you mean by small fry!
Ghiaccio was so frustrated he was about to vomit blood.
On the side, a thought flashed through Risotto Nero's mind.
Could it be...
"Judging from your reactions, you probably don't know yet. Diavolo is your boss, the leader behind the Passionee."
Spoiling the plot was enjoyable, keep spoiling it.
Jon dropped the 'bomb' without hesitation, leaving Risotto Nero and Ghiaccio completely bewildered.
"I can spare your lives and even let you redeem yourselves."
Jon smiled and continued, "Think about it, Diavolo is nothing if we unite? Honestly, I'm not interested in Passione, I just want something from Diavolo.
But you were different. This was an opportunity for a promotion. Whoever could take down Diavolo would become the new leader of the gang!"
This tactic was ruthless!
Avdol's eyes lit up.
But in an instant, he became worried again.
Would Risotto Nero and Ghiaccio fall for it?
"It sounds good, I think we have no other choice."
After pondering for ten seconds, Risotto Nero spoke slowly. His expression tinged with a hint of loneliness.
Jon nodded.
"When you become the new leader of the gang, you won't regret your choice."
"I hope so."
Meeting Jon's gaze, Risotto Nero added, "Since we've chosen to cooperate, we should share some information. To be honest, the boss's whereabouts are completely mysterious. Even if we wanted to go against him, we wouldn't know where to start."
Jon smiled in response.
"Don't worry about that. When the time is right, I'll contact you."
"In that case, we'll patiently wait. Ghiaccio, let's go."
Risotto Nero seemed resigned, lowering his head, and walking away with Ghiaccio.
Avdol seemed to want to say something but was stopped by Jon's meaningful gaze.
It wasn't until the two left the abandoned factory that Jon relaxed.
"Done."
"What's done? What did you do!"
Avdol questioned loudly, "Jon, how can you easily believe the enemy's words! Isn't this letting the tiger back to the mountain!"
"Why not?" Jon countered.
Avdol was at a loss for words.
Was there even a need to answer that question? Why couldn't you drink boiling water? Because it was hot.
Why couldn't you eat things off the ground? Because it was dirty.
Why shouldn't you easily believe the enemy's words? Because you'd get hurt for that!
Seeing that you were usually quite smart, why did you suddenly act dumb at a critical moment?
"Avdol, when have I ever done something I'm not sure of? Besides, do I look like a softie?"
As Jon spoke, a flash of murderous intent gleamed in his eyes.
Color of Arms Haki and Overdrive-enhanced Shigan!
Whoosh.
The power of compressed air bullets was even more potent than real bullets!
Behind Avdol, Risotto Nero, with a bullet wound in his forehead, staggered into view.
He looked at Jon in disbelief.
"W-why?"
Jon answered casually, "I intentionally didn't mention that you could turn invisible, of course, to let you approach me. And did you really think I was so oblivious that I couldn't see the hatred hidden in your eyes?"
Just to be safe, he gave Risotto Nero a few more "shots."
Now, Risotto Nero was completely out of breath, falling down with a heavy sense of resentment.
Even in death, he kept his eyes open, glaring at Jon, refusing to close them.
"Tch, who are you trying to scare?"
Jon didn't care.
Honest Avdol swallowed his saliva nervously.
Well, without watching ten years of palace intrigue dramas, you wouldn't be able to pull off these twists and turns.
You were quite cunning, aren't you?
Coincidentally, as Risotto Nero fell, Ghiaccio, who came to support, returned to the factory.
Jon took a look.
Alright, you're staying, too?
Take this punch!
"Color of Arms Haki and Overdrive-enhanced Tekkai!"
What's the situation now? Two against one.
How could we lose like this? Just ask yourself how you could lose!
Long story short, the advantage was mine.
Ora ora ora ora!
Jon punched relentlessly.
Avdol, meanwhile, earned the title of "Gold Medal Support."
No need to do anything else, just use "Magician's Red" to raise the temperature around and weaken the enemy's armor.
As calm as a virgin, but as agile as a rabbit.
In just a few breaths, Jon subdued the weakened ice skater.
Ghiaccio cursed and resisted.
Jon couldn't be bothered to continue deceiving him, so he aimed a barrage of Shigan at the respiratory ports at the back of the enemy's neck.
Ghiaccio down.
"Done."
The battle ended, and Jon wiped away the nonexistent beads of sweat from his forehead.
This time, "done" really meant done.
All four hitmen had been eliminated!
