Chapter 17: Chapter 17- god valley 6

[Third person POV]

Kuma stood frozen, his breath hitching in his throat. He couldn't believe his eyes, the most beautiful girl he had seen was right in front of him, looking at him with happiness, along with a blush on her face.

Ginny, his childhood friend and crush.

She looked exhausted—bruises covered her arms, and her clothes were ragged. Her pink hair was messy, strands sticking to her sweat-covered face. But she was here. Alive.

"Ginny!" Kuma took a step forward, his massive frame moving faster than he thought possible.

Ginny's face twisted, and before Kuma could react, she threw herself into his arms, gripping him tightly. "Kuma-chi… I thought—I thought I'd never see ya again…"

Kuma swallowed hard, hugging her just as tightly. "I'm here. I ain't goin' anywhere."

Yami watched the reunion with a raised brow with a shit-eating grin, his hands still in his pockets. "Well, ain't this a heartwarming little moment?" He smirked. "Well Not to cockblock you kuma, but we should probably keep moving before someone notices she's missing."

Ginny pulled back slightly, glancing up at Kuma before turning to Yami. She looked him up and down feeling a bit of jealousy and hostility. "And who in the hell is this kuma?"

Kuma wiped at his eyes before answering. "Ginny, this is Shiki D. Yami. He's—uh—my captain/boss now."

Ginny blinked. "Captain. . .boss?"

Then Yami gave a lazy two-fingered salute. "Sup."

She squinted at him. "Ya look like trouble."

Yami grinned and laughed. "Thank you."

Ginny let out a small, breathless laugh. Then, suddenly, her expression turned serious. "Listen, Kuma, we ain't got much time. There are a lot of Celestial Dragons in that mountain, and they got more slaves than I can count. They treat 'em worse than animals. We gotta help 'em."

Kuma nodded firmly. "That was the plan."

Ginny hesitated, looking at Yami. "And he's on board with that?"

Yami sighed dramatically. "What, do I look like the kind of guy who's gonna leave a bunch of slaves behind?"

Ginny crossed her arms. "Dunno. Ya look like the kinda guy who gets into fights for fun and then gets CTE."

Kuma coughed awkwardly. "Uh…well he does that already."

Ginny gave Yami a deadpan stare.

Yami grinned. "Guilty as charged."

Ginny huffed. "Great. Just what we need. A reckless idiot."

"Hey, I identify as a 'strategically aggressive genius, playboy, philanthropist" Yami corrected.

Ginny rolled her eyes. "Uh-huh. Sure."

Kuma smiled at the back-and-forth before stepping in. "We can joke later. Right now, we gotta figure out our next move."

Ginny nodded. "The slaves in the mountain—they're ready to fight if given the chance. We just need to give 'em that chance. . ."

Before Ginny could finish her sentence, a loud, booming voice echoed through the jungle, shaking the leaves and startling everyone, even Yami.

"YEE-HAW!"

The sudden outburst sent a jolt through Yami, Kuma, and Ginny, their instincts flaring as they prepared for an attack. Then, before they could react, something—or someone—came crashing down right in front of them, landing with a dramatic pose that kicked up a cloud of dirt and leaves.

As the dust settled, they were met with the sight of a figure, arms spread wide in an exaggerated stance. A massive indigo afro bounced slightly from the impact, and heavy makeup framed a dramatic grin.

Emporio Ivankov.[pic here<—-]

Yami saw who it was and was shocked that Ivankov appeared, he thought he will have to keep looking for him but instead, Ivan came towards them, but since he needed to play into the part, so he made his body tense and lowered his posture with his hand crackling, ready to fight. Kuma's eyes widened in shock, while Ginny took a defensive stance in front if kuma, her fists clenching instinctively.

Ivankov let out an amused chuckle, placing one hand on his hip while the other pointed toward the sky in an exaggerated pose.

"Ohohoho! What's this? A secret little gathering in the middle of the jungle? My, my, my, how suspicious~!" he teased, his voice dripping with flair.

Yami narrowed his eyes. "Who the hell—"

Before he could finish, Ivankov gasped dramatically, clutching his chest like he had just been gravely insulted.

"You mean to tell me you don't know who I am?! Ooooh, the tragedy! The disgrace! The utter disrespect!" He spun in place before pointing at them with a smirk. "I am the one and only Emporio Ivankov, a girl-boss, the soon in the future to be the queen of Kamabakka island, and—most importantly—the one who just so happened to hear whispers of a certain… rebellion~!"

Ginny exchanged a glance with Kuma, who looked just as thrown off as she was, then she looked at Yami, who had a smile.

Ivankov grinned wider, revealing white teeth. "And if there's one thing I adore more than making a grand entrance—it's shaking up the status quo!" His eyes gleamed mischievously. "So, darlings… tell me, where do I sign up?"

Yami's grin didn't fade as he looked around at his growing crew. "Hahaha Alright then if you want to join our little club, then here's the plan so listen up—what we need is to find a communications building, there is a chance of where they keep a special transponder snail. If we can get to it, we'll send out a broadcast that'll bring every greedy pirate in these waters straight to God Valley."

Ginny's eyes sparkled and cracked her knuckles. "And once that happens, them Navy boys and Celestial bastards will be too busy fightin' off the pirates to pay us any mind. That's when we slip the slaves out."

Kuma nodded firmly. "That's the distraction we need. But first, we have to find that building."

Ivankov's grin widened as he flipped his curls dramatically. "Oh, my darlings, you're in luck! As I made my absolutely fabulous entrance earlier, I happened to notice a large building with multiple antennas sticking out like a sore thumb." He placed a hand on his hip. "And let's not forget the giant World Government flag waving on top—just screaming 'important facility' if you ask me."

Kumaeyes gleamed. "That's gotta be it."

Ivankov leaned in with a playful smirk. "Oh, but wait—there's more! The place is crawling with soldiers, darling. And I don't mean just any run-of-the-mill grunts. I saw a Commodore walking in and out, barking orders. If there's a special transponder snail, I'd wager he's got it."

Yami crossed his arms, deep in thought. "So, not only do we need to break in, but we also gotta find and take out this Commodore to make sure we get our hands on that snail."

Ginny crossed her arms. "Yeah, but gettin' inside is a whole 'nother problem. That place is guarded tighter than a noblewoman's virtue."

Ivankov gasped dramatically, placing a hand over his chest. "Such scandalous words from such a delicate lady! I love it!"

Kuma looked between them. "How do we get inside? We can't just walk up and ask for directions."

Yami smirked. "No, but we don't need to go through the front door either. We find a weak poin, slip in, and move fast. We take out the Commodore, grab the snail, and get the message out before anyone knows what hit 'em."

Ivankov let out an exaggerated laugh. "Ohohoho! Now that's the kind of reckless brilliance I adore!" He then flipped his cape dramatically. "So, darlings, how do we begin?"

Yami's grin sharpened. "Simple. We scout the place first. No sense in rushing in blind." He turned to Ginny. "You think you can get us close enough to observe without getting spotted?"

Ginny smirked. "Sugar, sneakin' 'round places I ain't supposed to be is my specialty."

Kuma nodded. "Then let's move before the sun rises. We don't have much time."

Yami took a deep breath, his eyes burning with determination. "Then let's get to work. The first step to freedom starts now, who's with me."

Kuma took a deep breath. "For freedom."

Yami cracked his knuckles. "For chaos."

Ginny smirked. "For kickin' some Celestial Dragon ass."

Ivankov smiled. " for all the handsome boys on this island"
