A massive black shadow surged out of the sea, reflecting the moonlight as if it were about to devour the entire warship in one fell swoop.
Countless gallons of seawater cascaded off the shadow's form, crashing against the sea's surface and creating even greater waves.
Fortunately, Roja used the power of his spell to pull the warship into the air, saving it from certain destruction. At the same time, he pulled Hancock close, holding her securely in his arms.
Just then, the two other women aboard the warship rushed out.
"Sister, what's happening?" they cried, panic evident in their voices. But when they saw Hancock safely in Roja's arms, they visibly relaxed.
The moonlight bathed the enormous shadow, allowing Roja and the others to clearly make out what it was.
It was a Sea King, one so massive that even the exposed head alone seemed to be over a thousand meters long.
The full length of its body, as they guessed, easily exceeded five thousand meters. This was an existence that would give even Marine Admirals a major headache.
Hancock's pupils constricted in shock as she clung to Roja.
"Roja, that's the legendary deep-sea sea snake from Nine Snake Island! Legend says that when it reaches adulthood, it can grow to at least five thousand meters in length!" she gasped.
Upon hearing Hancock's words, Roja's interest was piqued even further.
"I didn't expect such creatures to exist in the sea," he mused, his eyes narrowing as he studied the beast.
Once they had ascended to a sufficient height, Roja gently released Hancock from his arms and said, "Since it's a legendary creature, let's see how strong it really is!"
With that, Roja leaped off the warship, leaving Hancock and her two sisters behind.
It was a serene night, with clear moonlight casting its glow across the scene.
As Roja jumped off the warship, the winds howled around him, making his cloak flutter wildly in the air.
For a creature like this Sea King, there was no need for pleasantries. Roja unsheathed Ryūken Ruohuo, flames erupting from the blade and leaving a trail of fiery light in the night sky.
The fire illuminated the dark waters, immediately catching the attention of the 5,000-meter-long sea snake.
The ocean churned as the beast's massive tail broke through the water and shot toward Roja from the depths. Despite its seemingly slow movement, its power and speed were utterly terrifying.
Hancock, her heart in her throat, watched in horror as the scene unfolded before her.
"Roja, be careful!" she called out.
As if hearing her, Roja acknowledged the threat, his voice calm and collected.
"If it were anyone else, this might be troublesome. But you're meeting me."
"Everything in the world is turned to ashes... and the blade flows like fire!"
With that, Ryūken Ruohuo erupted with searing flames, unleashing an enormous blaze that surged into the sky.
Roja, holding the blade with both hands, his eyes burning with intensity, released the full power of the sword.
The temperature of the flames, though still far from the sun's core, was enough to turn the surrounding sea into a boiling cauldron.
This was the first time Roja had fully unleashed the power of his Shikai since entering the world of pirates.
As he descended toward the Sea King, the sea around him began to bubble and boil under the intense heat.
"Roar!!!" The Sea King let out a deafening cry, seemingly enraged by the rising heat.
Its tail lashed with even greater speed, but Roja didn't flinch. His spell activated, and his descent became exponentially faster.
In an instant, Ryūken Ruohuo glowed with unmatched flame, turning into a blade of pure fire.
At the same time, six massive pillars of flame erupted from the sea, creating a violent windstorm that sent waves surging into the air. A massive red lotus of fire spread across the ocean, reaching thousands of feet in diameter.
The sea water rose dramatically, forming a towering wave that surged upwards, roaring with the power of thousands of dragons.
"Burn the sky and scorch the seas!" Roja shouted as he stabbed the blazing sword directly into the eyes of the Sea King.
A torrent of fire exploded from the strike, and the slash cut through the Sea King's head, splitting it in two.
As the beast opened its mouth in a final roar, its body was cleaved in half by the massive flame slash, and blood mixed with the fire, staining the ocean red.
Hancock, standing on the warship, watched in awe as the entire ocean was consumed by flames. The sky turned a fiery red, and the vast sea below her boiled like a cauldron.
"That's amazing!" Hancock whispered in awe, her eyes shining with admiration. In her heart, Roja was the strongest, and no one could compare to him.
But just as she was marveling at Roja's power, she was suddenly stunned. Roja had taken off his cloak, revealing his true form.
The inferno that blazed across the sea was visible from miles away.
On Kuja Island, the current empress of Amazon Lily and captain of the Kuja Pirates noticed the raging sea of flames.
From the palace, she gazed solemnly at the fiery scene. Her heart sank with realization.
"Who could wield such power?" she murmured, her thoughts immediately turning to Nine Snake Island.
If this person was capable of such destruction in the Calm Belt, their target could very well be Nine Snake Island itself!
Without hesitation, she ordered, "Prepare for battle!"
On Nine Snake Island, the warriors—many of whom had mastered the Armament Haki and Observation Haki—immediately equipped themselves and began setting up ambushes in the jungle, facing the direction of the flames.
Elsewhere, not far from the fiery sea, a small boat drifted slowly across the waters.
An old woman, shorter than most, sat in the boat with a flower in her white wavy hair. Holding a pet snake and a curled cane, she watched the fiery spectacle with a stern expression.
"Could this flame really be him?" the old woman muttered.
She extended her hand to touch the sea water, and a sharp breath escaped her lips.
"Hiss~!" she gasped. "The water's so hot, even from this far away! This is terrifying!"
The old woman quickly jumped up, flailing in discomfort. "Hot! Hot! Hot~!"
If any outsiders had seen her in this moment, they would surely have found the scene comically absurd.
