Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Shadows of the Sea
Ome sat against the wooden railing of the pirate ship, his body still aching from exhaustion. The rough texture of the planks beneath him, the scent of salt and aged wood, and the ever-present rocking of the ship—all of it reminded him that this was real.
He was in the world of One Piece.
And he had a system.
The translucent screen from earlier had vanished, but the knowledge remained. The Fatebound System had given him access to his status and a mission function.
He could set his own tasks, and the system would rank them from E to SSS, rewarding him accordingly.
Ome exhaled, pushing the thoughts aside for now. He wasn't in a position to experiment.
The ship's crew moved around him, carrying barrels and securing the sails. Some cast glances in his direction, a mix of curiosity and suspicion. Others ignored him completely, focused on their duties.
Dante Voss, the captain, stood near the helm, speaking with a broad-shouldered man with a jagged scar running down his cheek. The two were deep in conversation, their voices low, but from their expressions, it was clear the topic was him.
Ome needed to act carefully.
He was on a pirate ship, surrounded by dangerous men. He had no strength to fight, no allies, and no clear understanding of how strong this crew was.
All he had was his mind.
And the system.

A Silent Test
Ome clenched his fists. If he wanted to survive, he needed to understand his new body.
He opened his status screen again.
[STATUS SCREEN]
Name: Abrar Faize Ome
Age: 19
Strength: D+
Speed: C
Endurance: D+
Reflexes: C+
Fighting Instinct: B-
Battle IQ: B
Special Abilities: None (Yet)
Overall Rating: D+
"D+… not even close to being strong."
Ome needed to confirm if the stats were accurate.
Slowly, he placed both hands on the deck and pushed himself up.
His arms trembled slightly, but it wasn't as difficult as he expected. His body felt lighter than before, his muscles responding quickly despite his exhaustion.
He lowered himself into a squat, testing his balance against the ship's rocking motion. His reflexes felt sharper than he remembered, his body adjusting naturally.
"This isn't just my old body. It's… better."
His strength was still weak, but his reflexes and speed were higher. That alone meant he could adapt faster than a normal person.
But it wasn't enough.
He needed more.
And that meant testing the mission system.

Setting the First Mission
Ome focused. If the system worked as it said, he could set a mission himself.
"Let's start small."
[New Mission Created]
Mission: Perform 100 push-ups.
Difficulty Rating: E
Reward: +0.1 Strength
Ome's eyes widened slightly. It worked.
The system had judged it as an E-rank mission, and the reward, while small, was tangible.
He could get stronger.
Quietly, he lowered himself to the deck and started.
The first ten were easy. By twenty, his arms began to burn. At forty, his muscles screamed, but he kept pushing.
By the time he reached seventy, sweat dripped down his forehead. The pirates around him had started noticing, some muttering among themselves.
At ninety, his arms felt numb.
And when he finally reached one hundred, a familiar sound echoed in his mind.
[Mission Complete.]
[+0.1 Strength.]
A brief warmth spread through his muscles. It wasn't a huge change, but it was real.
It worked.
And that meant he had a path forward.

A Captain's Eyes
Dante Voss watched the scene with mild amusement.
A drifter with no known background, tossed into the sea and barely alive. And yet, the moment he set foot on the deck, he pushed himself.
Not crying, not begging, not panicking—but training.
That kind of mindset wasn't normal.
"Captain," the scarred man beside him muttered. "What do you think?"
Dante smirked. "He's interesting."
The man frowned. "He's weak."
"Yeah, but so was everyone at some point. Strength isn't just about power—it's about resolve."
The scarred man grunted, unconvinced. "And if he's a liability?"
Dante exhaled, running a hand through his dark hair. "Then I'll throw him overboard myself."
But for now?
He wanted to see how far this kid could go.
