Sure enough, there's still not much change…"
His eyes quickly scanned the attribute list before him, and shanuo shook his head in disappointment, clearly dissatisfied with the data displayed on the panel.
First was the hero level, that glaring number "1" had remained unchanged since he crossed over, and what was even more frustrating was that, up until now, he still hadn't found any way to increase it.
This was unavoidable. When shanuo first got this system, he was extremely excited and began to explore, hoping to find an intelligent voice assistant like in the system-driven web novels he'd read in his previous life, to help guide him in understanding the system and quickly improve his strength.
However, after some trial and error, shanuo despaired when he realized that this was just an auxiliary system with no self-awareness. It was even worse than the newbie guides in some RPG online games he'd played in his past life.
It couldn't even answer simple questions. What kind of system was this? At least the newbie guides in RPGs would disguise themselves as a big-breasted, cute girl and guide you with a soft, seductive voice, right?!
Thinking of this, shanuo still felt very frustrated. He decided to heat up the leftover grilled fish from lunch, then sat on the edge of his bed, tearing into the fish while contemplating the attribute panel.
Ignoring the hero level, the basic attributes on the panel were extremely simple, only two items.
Strength: 11, Agility: 15.
These were the most direct evaluations of his physical qualities from the system, and they were what shanuo cared most about now.
Although these numbers seemed a bit pitiful, based on shanuo's observations and comparisons over the years, this represented quite a bit of strength. In the town of Orange, most adult men only had around 10 in these two attributes.
In other words, as a 12-year-old, Shanuo could theoretically easily defeat an average adult man in a one-on-one fight.
Of course, this was the result of three years of constant effort on his part, not the talent of the body itself. When Shanuo first arrived here three years ago, the original owner of this body was only slightly stronger than other boys his age in terms of height, with some fishing skills, but overall, he was just a weakling.
The reason Shanuo was frustrated was because his strength and agility had been stuck at these numbers for the last six months. No matter how hard he trained, these numbers hadn't increased at all.
"Wind Sword Technique…"
His gaze lingered on a string of skills below, and shanuo expression grew even more complex. Every time he saw them, a swear word was on the tip of his tongue.
Whether it was the basic Wind Sword Technique or the dazzling skills like Steel Slash and Flash Step, these were the main techniques of the Wind Sword Master hero, and logically, after coming to this world and gaining the inheritance system, these skills should have been shanuo's path to becoming stronger.
But the reality was, he couldn't use a single one of these skills!
What the hell was going on?
If it weren't for the basic Wind Sword Technique showing a progress bar, giving him a glimmer of hope, shanuo would have loved to pull this system out of his body and give it a good beating.
In fact, the Wind Sword Technique progress bar was also a huge trap. After arriving in this world, shanuo's mind had gained a very simplified sword technique, only a few moves. According to the system, he needed to raise the proficiency of this basic sword technique to 1,000, reaching the beginner level, before he could truly master the secrets of the Wind Sword Technique.
So for the past three years, shanuo had spent every free moment practicing these few moves from his mind, even setting up wooden posts in his cabin and using the little money he earned from selling fish to buy several wooden swords as backups.
However, the progress on the proficiency bar was incredibly slow. Often, after a whole day of intense practice, his sword technique proficiency wouldn't increase at all. After three years, the progress bar hadn't even reached halfway, and the beginner Wind Sword Technique still seemed far out of reach.
"I wonder when I'll finally master the beginner Wind Sword Technique. I can't be expected to wait another three years, right…"
Biting off a large piece of fish, shanuo eyes showed a trace of unwillingness. The skill descriptions also mentioned that Yasuo's passive "Wanderer's Path" and the skill "Steel Slash" required the beginner Wind Sword Technique to learn, and other skills would likely need a higher level of sword technique. Without enough proficiency, how could he go out into the vast sea and make a name for himself in this grand pirate era?
As a modern youth who had read the original story, shanuo simply couldn't tolerate the idea of spending his life as a fisherman on a remote island in the East Sea!
He also couldn't stand seeing the "Reputation" section at the bottom of his attribute panel, which always read "Insignificant"!
It was over ten minutes later, after finishing the fish, that shanuo snapped out of his thoughts. Looking at his current situation, he couldn't help but sigh lightly.
He glanced out the window, and the night had fallen deep. A wave of exhaustion surged through his body. Shanuo yawned, cleaned up the leftover food, and decided to go to bed.
Living alone in a strange world, there were so many things to pay attention to. Adequate sleep was one of them. He certainly didn't want to get sick due to lack of rest, as that would force him to spend a large amount of his already limited money on medicine.
Before long, the sound of light and even snoring quietly filled the small cabin, blending with the night.
......
The next morning, as the autumn sunlight poured through the small window and scattered into the room in countless small light spots, the black-haired boy on the bed slowly opened his eyes, waking up groggily.
The next moment, he realized that his head was at the foot of the bed, his feet were on the pillow, and his body was twisted at a strange angle, half of it hanging off the edge. The blanket had long fallen to the floor.
"Damn… when will I be able to fix this habit…"
Feeling a bit awkward, he got out of bed, picked up the blanket, and muttered to himself. After a moment of frustration, shanuo scratched his head.
This had been a problem since childhood. He always kicked off the blanket and rolled around in bed at night. He had been laughed at by his roommates in college for this, but he never managed to change. Now, even in this pirate world, the same problem persisted.
Luckily, he had been single in his past life. Otherwise, with this habit, he probably would have been kicked out of bed by his girlfriend the first night they lived together…
"Really troublesome…"
After spending some time cleaning up the mess, shanuo finally made the bed and was satisfied with the result. He patted his hands and moved away from the bed.
Being a Virgo, he also had a mild case of obsessive-compulsive disorder…
After washing up, shanuo put on a vest and walked to the door, slowly pushing it open. The morning sun greeted him warmly, driving away the autumn chill.
In front of him, the clear stream flowed steadily, occasionally hitting the dark rocks with a gentle sound, clear and pleasant.
And in the distance, there was a faint mist, almost like light smoke, shrouding the sea near Andrik Island. The crescent-shaped lake, hidden in the green forest, appeared even more peaceful and tranquil in the mist.
"The air really is great here."
Even though he had been living in Orange Town for three years, every time shanuo woke up and stepped outside, breathing in the air, he felt an indescribable sense of comfort. Compared to the steel jungle of his previous life, this place was infinitely better.
"Alright, let's get started."
As the first light of dawn appeared, shanuo stretched his limbs and, with his right leg slightly bent, pushed off the ground with his heel, running towards the coast in a perfect stride.
Every morning, shanuo would wake up early and run around the entire Andrik Island along the coastline as part of his training to strengthen his body.
Although Andrik Island wasn't large, a full lap around it was nearly 20 kilometers, which would be impossible for an ordinary boy in his teens. However, shanuo had persisted for three years, running this route in all kinds of weather, almost every single day.
After all, until he broke through to the beginner Wind Sword Technique, his strong body was his only asset in this chaotic world. This was the key reason why his physical fitness had improved so rapidly over the past three years.
This was a turbulent era. Without hard work, there would be no progress or gains.
...…
After about six or seven minutes of running, the coast finally came into view.
The salty sea breeze hit him, and the first thing shanuo noticed was a small port.
This was where the stream flowed into the sea, with the coastline curving in, creating a natural harbor. After being remodeled by the residents of Orange Town, it became the only port on Andrik Island, where ships would dock.
Unfortunately, due to Andrik Island's isolated location in the East Sea, besides a few small fishing boats from the town, there had been almost no other ships seen in the port. The last time shanuo saw a big ship pass by was more than three months ago.
As usual, the port today was almost empty. After a quick glance, shanuo didn't pay it much attention and turned to continue his morning run along the coast.
"Huh, wait a minute."
However, just as he was about to turn, the scene he had glanced at earlier flashed in his mind. Shanuo's expression changed, and he abruptly stopped in his tracks. He turned his head to look at the distant sea covered in mist.
Sure enough.
In the deep mist, a faint black shape was slowly approaching the island, moving at a leisurely pace. Shanuo could see it clearly now—a massive ship, at least ten meters tall, was heading toward the port.
"That… what is that…?"
Shanuo's pupils constricted, and his gaze began to change.
On the mast, the sails were full, and a large black flag was flying high at the top, fluttering in the wind!
