One Piece: Signing In as a Pirate Begins with Roger's Execution

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: The Unlucky Magic Duck

[TL/N: The title playfully hints at a misfortunate yet magical character, blending humor and mystery to spark curiosity about the chapter's events.]

Aboard the terrifying Thriller Bark.

Countless zombies were dancing, twirling in eerie unison.

They surrounded the grand gates of a towering castle, swaying their twisted bodies to an unseen rhythm.

A small girl in a gothic lolita dress, holding an umbrella in one hand and a ragdoll in the other, was happily playing.

From time to time, she approached the zombies, interacting with them.

Every zombie that was touched seemed to become excited, eager to please their little princess.

At the same time, a massive figure, heavyset and with two horns growing from his head, resembling a demon, was snipping away with large scissors.

Upon closer inspection, one would notice that what he was cutting was not fabric—but shadows!

He was trimming human shadows, one after another, and then stuffing them into nearby corpses.

With each snip, the once lifeless bodies slowly began to transform, eventually becoming active zombies once more.

The newly reanimated zombie glanced around, confused but ultimately joined the frenzied dance of the undead.

The girl in the gothic lolita dress giggled lightly, her amusement clear on her face.

But despite her apparent joy, she looked down on the ugly zombies surrounding her.

"Lord Moria, these guys are so ugly. They stink like they haven't bathed in centuries."

"Where did you find these companions? I can't stand it."

"Hehehe, Perona, you should know that strictly speaking, they aren't our companions."

"Companions are too weak, unreliable. These undead zombies are much more useful to me!"

"And they're all dry corpses, no need for baths. They stink, but that's normal. Just get used to it."

"Dry corpses? Why would you want to use dry corpses as companions? That sounds so weird!"

Little Perona, only four or five years old, had no concept of dry corpses.

"Hehehe, don't worry about it, just do what I asked. Calm these zombies down for me."

"You should know, if I hadn't found you six months ago, you'd be dead by now. So don't ask questions that you shouldn't!"

"Alright, alright. I'll do the task well, Lord Moria."

Perona used her ability to soothe the zombies' emotions, still smiling, but her eyes showed no real joy.

As Moria said, she was abandoned as a monster, and if it hadn't been for him, she would have been long dead.

Now, she only wanted to repay Moria for saving her life, and didn't care to think about anything else.

However, Perona hadn't developed a proper sense of morality. She didn't realize that the horrific things she was doing were far from normal.

Moria's actions were akin to murder—if not more terrifying!

He would appear anywhere in this sea without warning.

Anyone who crossed his path would be swiftly captured and turned into one of his shadowed minions!

This is why rumors about a devil existing in the Florian Triangle persisted!

The true villain was here!

And within Moria's castle, there were hundreds, even thousands, of captured pirates.

"These zombies still aren't enough. I need more corpses."

"And I need a doctor who can at least sew wounds."

"Only then will I be able to strengthen these zombie soldiers and achieve my revenge!"

"Hehehe!!!"

Moria continued laughing, snipping away at shadows.

But just then.

In the dim sky, a small and inconspicuous boat appeared.

The boat hovered in the air, drawing the attention of both Moria and Perona.

They watched as the small boat hovered above their castle.

Then, a figure dressed in a navy uniform lightly descended from the air.

"Detected: Gecko Moria, sign-in possible."

"Detected: Perona, sign-in possible."

"Gecko Moria… is that you?"

Karl had arrived, seeing the immensely overweight Moria, and couldn't help but ask.

Back when Roger was executed, Karl had caught a glimpse of the young Moria from the execution platform.

At that time, Moria had been very thin, his body well-defined with visible muscle.

But now, Moria…

Well…

It was hard to describe!

"Who are you, to dare intrude upon my domain?! Take this—Negative Ghost!"

"Perona, stop!"

Perona, seeing Karl's arrival, immediately tried to attack, which startled Moria.

He jumped away, but unfortunately, Perona's Negative Ghost passed right through Moria's body, sending him plummeting from the air.

"To be born human, I'm so sorry…"

"So this is Negative Ghost? Truly terrifying ability."

Seeing Moria's miserable state, Karl couldn't help but shudder, then released his Conqueror's Haki, immediately dispelling the Negative Ghost.

Along with it, the other spirits separated by Perona vanished the moment they touched his Haki.

The zombies, seemingly encountering some great danger, immediately knelt in fear, not daring to look up at Karl.

Moria remained trapped in the Negative Ghost state, still struggling to recover.

"I wanted to live peacefully, but life has cruelly abandoned me…"

"Starting to wallow in self-pity already?"

Karl twitched his mouth, then kicked Moria's body, sending him flying dozens of meters and snapping him out of his stupor.

"What just happened?"

"Ah, right! karl, you're the Navy executioner, the one who captured Shiki the Golden Lion and Barrett!"

"What are you doing here? I haven't provoked the Navy, and right now, I'm only targeting pirates! You have no reason to eliminate me!"

Moria, in a panic, blurted out.

Moria had once been so arrogant, so proud, even daring to challenge Kaido.

But after his crushing defeat, he fell into despair, becoming the pitiful figure he was now.

Now, he was too scared to even consider fighting Karl.

"My head hurts… you're a bad man. My princess won't let you off!"

Perona shouted, once again summoning more spirits.

But Moria immediately jumped in front of her and shouted, "Run! I'll hold them off!"

"Lord Moria?"

Perona tilted her head, unsure of why Moria was acting like this.

But just then, a sharp blade pierced through Moria's body.

"You may be a pirate with some honor, and according to recent intelligence, you haven't committed any evil acts."

"Since that's the case, I can't be bothered to execute you, but I'm afraid you'll spend the rest of your life in Impel Down."

Karl smirked, then punched Moria away, casually destroying the castle in the process!

Moria was far too weak for Karl to care about killing him—he didn't want to risk signing any unwanted abilities!

With the collapse of the castle, the pirates inside cheered as they made their escape.

But when they saw the Navy here, and Moria easily defeated by a Navy officer, they immediately swallowed hard.

Even the Ghost Princess Perona was knocked out by Karl's chop.

The pirates collectively gulped, then turned and walked back into the dungeon.

"You all continue; we're just passing through…"

Karl rolled his eyes, then approached Moria, hoisting him up and tossing him toward the dungeon entrance.

He also placed Perona onto his small boat.

"Sign-in Gecko Moria successful. Power increased slightly."

"Sign-in Perona successful. Received ability to create Lolita dresses (perfect)!"

The system's voice rang out, and Karl almost cried in frustration, then kicked Moria once more.

"Buggy, I really miss you..."
