One Piece: Signing In as a Pirate Begins with Roger's Execution

Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Karl’s Power

"What a monster! When did the Navy produce such a terrifying individual?"

Teach was drenched in sweat, desperately defending against Karl's slashes while trying to flee.

Shanks was in a similar predicament. Neither of them could match Karl, and both were being relentlessly pursued, fleeing in utter defeat.

However, their individual strength was undeniable. If they joined forces, they might have a slim chance of escaping even from a current Admiral of the Navy.

Karl's strength was at a level surpassing that of a Vice Admiral, but he had not yet reached the true power of an Admiral. As a result, he could not capture Shanks and Teach quickly.

Karl's plan was to drive Shanks away first and then immediately kill Blackbeard!

In a one-on-one fight, neither Teach nor Shanks would stand a chance against Karl. However, their teamwork proved to be somewhat troublesome.

"Shanks, I have no intention of targeting you. But this guy, Teach, is linked to the Rocks Pirates, and I absolutely cannot let him escape!"

"What? You're saying he has ties to the Rocks Pirates?"

Hearing Karl's words, Shanks was momentarily stunned and immediately leaped away from Teach.

Karl noticed this and smirked, unleashing a swift and ferocious slash directly at Blackbeard Teach!

"What nonsense about the Rocks Pirates? What's going on between you two?!"

Teach was panicking internally, shocked that Karl knew about the Rocks Pirates.

However, there was no way Teach would admit this openly. He vehemently denied the accusation.

Facing Karl's slash, Teach mustered all his strength, redirecting the attack into the ground, causing the earth to quake violently.

Shanks, with a slight change in expression, turned to Karl.

"Karl! Are you sure this black fatty is connected to the Rocks Pirates?"

Although Shanks hadn't personally experienced the God Valley incident, as a member of Roger's crew, he was deeply trusted and cared for by the Pirate King.

He knew some details about the incident and was aware that Karl was one of its survivors.

Even Buggy, who was also on Roger's crew, didn't know this, as he wasn't considered reliable enough to be privy to such secrets.

"I'm not entirely certain, but I see the shadow of the Rocks Pirates in him, as well as an extremely dangerous aura!

There's no need to doubt me, nor do I have any reason to lie. After all, even Whitebeard was once part of the Rocks Pirates. It's not unusual for one or two remnants of the crew to remain among his subordinates.

As for you, Shanks, I'll give you one minute to decide. If you don't leave, I'll execute both of you right here!"

As Karl spoke, his Conqueror's Haki erupted violently. His sharp gaze was accompanied by a fierce windstorm tearing through the surrounding space.

Multiple massive tornadoes materialized behind him, exuding a world-shattering aura of destruction!

"Shanks! Don't believe this Navy brat's nonsense! I have nothing to do with the Rocks Pirates. I'm only 20 years old!

That Rocks guy was wiped out a long time ago. What could that possibly have to do with me?"

Teach, growing increasingly desperate, tried to explain.

However, his flustered remarks only drew Shanks' attention.

"How do you know the Rocks Pirates were wiped out? And why are you emphasizing your age so much?"

"This…"

Teach froze, realizing he had made a grave mistake.

Seeing this, Karl's smirk widened as he began manipulating the storm to attack Teach.

Although Karl couldn't confirm Teach's connection to the Rocks Pirates, various details in the original story strongly hinted at some link between them.

Moreover, Teach's birth coincided with the period shortly before the Rocks Pirates' downfall, around six months before Karl was born.

Karl had good reason to suspect that Teach was Rocks D. Xebec's son.

Even if it was just a guess, Karl didn't mind being wrong. Teach was an extremely dangerous individual who needed to be eliminated in advance!

"Shanks, don't believe him! This is just a Navy scheme to sow discord. Don't fall for it!"

Realizing he had slipped up, Teach frantically shouted to Shanks for assistance.

"Hmph! Karl, I'll owe you a favor this time, but I'll repay it someday.

And mark my words: one day, I'll defeat you myself and avenge my captain!"

With that, Shanks shot a furious glance at Teach.

He wasn't sure if Karl's words were true, but he could sense Teach's dangerous nature and the murderous intent Teach harbored toward him.

Most importantly, Teach was part of Whitebeard's crew, with whom Shanks had little connection. It wasn't worth risking capture by Karl for someone as perilous and possibly connected to the Rocks Pirates as Teach.

After a brief hesitation, Shanks decided to leave.

"Damn it! I was so close to succeeding in assassinating Shanks.

But then this Navy brat showed up out of nowhere. How infuriating! Looks like I need to find a way to escape!"

Teach's eyes burned with hatred.

While fending off Karl's attacks, he glared at Shanks with a mixture of anger and resentment.

Ultimately, however, Teach turned his attention back to Karl.

He knew full well he was no match for Karl. Even when teaming up with Shanks, he had barely managed to keep pace with him.

Now, with Shanks gone, Teach was completely outmatched and would soon be defeated.

"Teach, any last words?"

Karl's smirk deepened as he suddenly appeared beside Teach, gripping his sword with both hands and striking downward with full force!

The devastating slash, shaped like a black crescent moon, exploded in the center of Mock Town with a deafening roar.

The ground and surrounding space quaked violently under the impact, leaving Mock Town's main street completely destroyed, with not a single intact structure remaining.

"Pah! You think a little Navy brat like you can kill me? You're far too inexperienced!"

Though Teach was sent flying and even had his steel claws shattered, his body suffered no significant injuries.

Spitting out blood, Teach coated himself in Armament Haki and charged straight at Karl.

"Die, you Navy brat!"

"Heh, you're only a year older than me and still dare to call me a brat? How arrogant!"

With a roar, Karl summoned three tornadoes, which Teach destroyed with powerful punches.

But in that instant, Karl's ghostly figure appeared beside Teach.

The black blade, Sandai Kitetsu, descended swiftly toward Teach's neck.

When blade met flesh, the impact produced a metallic clang.

Teach had concentrated all his Armament Haki at his neck, barely blocking Karl's strike.

Taking advantage of the moment, Karl touched Teach's abdomen with his left hand, channeling his Devil Fruit powers at full force.

"Pseudo-Rasengan—!"
