Chapter 273: Tezzolo's Request
New World, Greems
One month before the Locke Pirates launched their war against all the pirates in the New World, while everyone was busy preparing for the war, Gildetialo, who had consumed the Gold Fruit and was a key talent nurtured by the Locke Pirates, came before Locke.
Watching Gildetialo stand respectfully below him, Locke leaned his chin on his hand and calmly observed him. "Speak, Gildetialo. You're not staying at the entertainment city, so why have you come to me?" Locke asked.
Upon hearing Locke's words, Gildetialo trembled slightly and said, "Lord Locke! I've come here this time because there's something I must trouble you with. My Gold Fruit ability has been developed to its limits, and I urgently need a large amount of gold."
"Since you once reached the City of Gold, I'd like to request that you take me to the legendary City of Gold." Saying this, Gildetialo kneeled before Rox, his expression filled with a shimmer of hope. Locke silently watched Gildetialo for a moment and then nodded in understanding.
"I see. Go and make your preparations, and I will take you to the City of Gold," Lockesaid before leaving the hall without paying further attention to Gildetialo. Gildetialo gazed at Locke's departing figure with a heart full of excitement.
"At last, I'm going to succeed! Hahaha, my abilities are about to awaken! Stella, please wait for me! When I become even stronger, I will come to rescue you." Locke was unaware of Gildetialo's thoughts, and even if he knew, he probably wouldn't care.
At this moment, Locke had returned to his garden and beckoned for his son, Ares.
Ares, upon seeing his father looking for him, ran over joyfully"Haha, Dad, what brings you to me? I'm diligently practicing!" Ares said it with a smug expression.
"Ah, you, you're getting more and more cheeky," Locke chuckled and ruffled Ares's hair. It was hard to believe how much Ares had grown over the years.v"Alright, tidy up a bit. I'll take you to Skypiea," Locke said.
"Skypiea! Really? Haha, Dad, wait for me. I'll go call Spade Louis and Perona now," Ares exclaimed, excited to visit the legendary Skypiea. He quickly ran off to gather his friends.
Unbeknownst to him, Ares had become the leader of this group of kids. Wherever they went, he would rally his friends to join. Locke shook his head, smiling with fondness. "This kid is nothing like my personality." With a light sigh, Locke walked into the castle.
An hour later, a massive ship was docked in the Azalea Port of Greems. Hundreds of pirates were busy loading supplies onto the ship. Ares had already arrived at the port with Louis, Spade, and Perona. They were excitedly listening to Aneru's stories about how he had become so influential in Skypiea.
"Hehe, Uncle Aneru, I heard that you were always bullied when you were in Skypiea. How did you become the one bullying others?" Ares asked with a mischievous smile.
"..."
"Darn, kid! Tell me who slandered me! I'll teach them a lesson they won't forget!" Ares instantly ruined Aneru's good mood, and he was visibly upset as he spoke. "Oh, I remember it was Uncle Enel and Zephyr who said that. Do you want to teach them a lesson?" Ares replied.
"..." Hearing that it was Enel and Zephyr, Aneru's expression turned sour. He vividly remembered how those two had bullied him in the past. Seeing Aneru's unpleasant expression, Spade decided to provoke him further.
"Haha, look, Uncle Aneru is chickening out!" Spade taunted. Aneru, infuriated, chased after Spade. Meanwhile, Louis stood beside Ares, looking at the chaotic scene between Aneru and Spade. She couldn't believe how cheeky and impudent they were.
"Hey, Ares, aren't you going to do something about them? The whole port is in chaos," Perona, floating in the sky and holding a small umbrella, asked Ares. "Haha, why bother with them? We can sit here and enjoy the show," Ares replied, reclining on a crate with his hands behind his head.
"Hehe, finally, I get to go to sea with Dad. I've been looking forward to it for so long," Ares said, gazing at the azure sky, feeling both nostalgic and eager. He had been eagerly awaiting the moment when Locke would take him out to sea.
"Hey, Ares, don't you think something's off with the atmosphere in the entire pirate crew lately?" Louis suddenly spoke up as she sat next to Ares. Ares looked at her, turned his head, and said, "Of course, I can feel it."
He fell silent for a moment before continuing, "I heard from Mom that our Locke Pirates are planning to declare war on all the pirates in the New World. Dad wants to rule the entire New World."
Louis was surprised by Ares's words, her eyes widening. "Ares, is what you're saying true? Declaring war on all the pirates in the New World! Do you know how many pirates there are in the entire New World? And don't forget, we have the likes of Whitebeard and Kaido in the New World. Is Uncle Rox out of his mind?"
As an almost ten-year-old, Louis had inherited not only the beauty of her parents, Irida and Alice but also their intelligence. "Louis, relax," Ares comforted his friend with a simple statement. Then he continued, "Louis, don't underestimate our Locke Pirates!"
As he spoke, Ares underwent an intangible transformation, his demeanor filled with an unyielding aura. Although young, he appeared brimming with dominance and unwavering self-confidence. His eyes shone with an aura of superiority.
"Our Locke Pirates rule a third of the New World's seas, with nearly a hundred subordinate pirate crews under our flag. We possess top-tier combat strength capable of dominating all other pirates," Ares explained.
"Both my dad and Uncle Barrett, Uncle Irida, Uncle Visa, and Uncle Jin have the terrifying power to destroy entire nations single-handedly. And aside from them, we have officers like Uncle Moria, Uncle Barbosa, and other powerful members of the Rox Pirates," Ares continued.
"Besides our officers, the Locke Pirates have an army of nearly a hundred thousand soldiers. With such formidable strength, who can stop us in the New World?" Louis gazed at Ares, who emanated a sense of indomitable spirit, with her beautiful eyes sparkling with admiration.
