One Piece: Peace Shattered By Roger (Completed)

Chapter 82: He Will Never Forget This Patient Named Rocks

"So it's you, Bentham, you pervert!"

Dr. Federman glared as he recognized the man standing before him, his voice laced with irritation.

"Yeah, yeah, it's me! Now let me in—this guy's barely breathing!"

The man, known as Bentham, would one day be hailed as the "manliest man" in the future. He would later join the Baroque Works under Crocodile, earning the codename Mr. 2 Bon Clay.

"Why should I treat anyone you bring here?" Federman scoffed, his arrogance on full display.

"It's not for me—it's for him!"

Bentham gestured at the unconscious Kaizen slumped against him, speaking as though it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"Are you stupid, or are you just pretending? No decent doctor would treat anyone even remotely associated with you!"

Federman spat on the ground as he spoke, as though Bentham's ignorance physically pained him.

"Why?"

Although Bentham might have understood why deep down, he still feigned ignorance, his wide eyes betraying his confusion.

"Because you're a pervert, and anyone who associates with you is bound to be the same! If I treat this guy, I might catch your disease. Got it?"

Federman slammed the door in Bentham's face before he could respond.

"Hey! You're a doctor—you can't just abandon a dying man! Open up, you bastard! Open the damn door!"

No matter how hard Bentham knocked, Federman did not respond. Defeated, Bentham resolved to find another way to save Kaizen.

---

"Who's that?"

A soft, bell-like voice interrupted Bentham's frantic thoughts. He turned to see a young woman with a gentle expression standing nearby.

"Granny, you scared me half to death!" Bentham exclaimed without thinking, but as he took a closer look, the woman's kind demeanor immediately eased his nerves.

This was Felin, Dr. Federman's daughter.

Bentham quickly explained Kaizen's dire state, and Felin, upon inspecting his grievous injuries, gasped in horror, covering her mouth to stifle a scream.

"Bring him inside—quickly!"

"You'll treat him?" Bentham asked, his voice filled with hope.

"Of course! I'm a doctor, too. It's my duty to save lives," Felin replied with determination.

"You're ten thousand times better than your bastard father!" Bentham declared, tears streaming down his face.

---

The three entered the clinic through the back door. After laying Kaizen on the operating table, Felin carefully examined his wounds, her expression growing more solemn by the second.

"What's wrong? Can't you save him?" Bentham asked anxiously, his heart sinking. "This guy can't die here!"

"He needs surgery immediately, but I…" Felin hesitated, her voice trembling.

"But what? Just spit it out already!" Bentham urged, his concern overriding his usual flamboyant demeanor.

"I've only ever assisted my father. I've never performed surgery as the lead… I'm afraid I'll fail," Felin admitted, her voice heavy with self-doubt.

"Don't give up, Felin! I believe in you!" Bentham encouraged, his usually theatrical smile softening into something genuine.

"You're right. I can't lose heart now," Felin said, finding her resolve once more.

She donned sterile gloves and clothing, prepared gauze and disinfectant, and began the operation. Bentham assisted as best he could, following her instructions.

---

As the surgery reached its most critical phase, the door suddenly burst open with a bang.

"What the hell is going on here?!"

Federman stormed into the room, his furious gaze locking onto Felin.

Undeterred, Felin remained focused on the operation, her hands steady despite the chaos.

"Damn it, her bastard father is here!" Bentham yelped in alarm.

"You! Pervert! Who let you in? Get out of my clinic!" Federman growled, advancing menacingly.

"Don't even think about interfering with the operation!" Bentham shouted, stepping between Federman and his daughter.

"This is my clinic! I can kick you out anytime I want!" Federman snapped, grabbing Bentham by the collar.

"Back off, old man, or I'll use my Okama Kenpo! You don't want to see my special moves!"

Bentham struck a flamboyant pose, baring his teeth and clawing at the air. His exaggerated display was more comical than intimidating.

"You're disgusting!" Federman retorted, grabbing at Bentham's hair.

The two devolved into a ridiculous scuffle, pulling at each other's ears and legs like children fighting over a toy.

"Enough!" Felin shouted, her voice ringing like a thunderclap.

Both men froze, their awkward positions emphasizing their absurdity. Embarrassed, Bentham released Federman and stepped back.

---

The operation finally concluded, and Felin sighed in relief.

"Will he live?" Bentham asked, unable to hide his worry.

"He's very lucky," Felin said with a tired but happy smile.

"Shamelessly using my clinic for your operation… Let's talk about the bill, shall we?" Federman sneered, glaring at Bentham.

"Father! Can't you just let it go for once? This patient hasn't escaped death's clutches yet!" Felin scolded.

Her father had not always been this way.

Once, Dr. Federman was a kind and generous man, known for his warm smile and unwavering compassion. But that changed ten years ago, when his wife ran away with a patient he had saved.

Since then, he became bitter and cold, drowning his days in drink. The patient's name was one he would never forget.

Rocks.
