One Piece: Killing Devour

Chapter 32 – A New Target!

Afterward, Lance learned more from Daniu.

His family, along with many close friends and townsfolk, had all been killed by Jack the Drought and the Beasts Pirates.

Kaidō of the Beasts. Jack the Drought.

These infamous figures in the pirate world—Lance never expected to cross paths with them. Yet somehow, he now carried a deep and bloody grudge against them.

"I see."

Lance silently lit a cigarette. When he noticed Daniu eyeing it hungrily, he offered him one too.

"Whether it's Jack the Drought or Kaidō himself, I'll take care of them."

He exhaled a smoke ring and said coldly, "I'll make them regret ever being born into this world—and regret the disasters they brought upon themselves through their own actions."

"Lance, I'm begging you, please don't go after Kaidō or Jack!"

Daniu's hand trembled, nearly dropping the cigarette from his mouth. He looked terrified.

"Kaidō is one of the Four Emperors of the New World—you don't need me to tell you that. Everyone knows his name. No one's ever been able to kill him. They say he's immortal. There's simply no one in this world who can take him down!"

"And Jack the Drought is even more brutal—he lives for destruction. Not just Angel Town—everywhere he goes ends in ruins. Not even a brick remains. As for people? He spares no one!"

"Guys like that are not the kind we can afford to provoke. Please, just forget about revenge!"

Daniu tried his best to dissuade Lance, terrified the man would charge off on some suicidal vendetta.

In Daniu's mind, Kaidō and Jack were like gods—untouchable. Even the World Government backed off in front of Kaidō. Jack, sheltered under his Emperor's protection, could do whatever he wanted in this world.

To challenge them… was nothing short of a death sentence.

"Is that so?"

"Then I definitely should go after them."

"A Kaidō who can't be killed? I'm looking forward to seeing just how unkillable he really is."

Murderous intent flickered in Lance's eyes.

Kaidō, the immortal?

Maybe before Lance came to this world, he deserved that title—feared and unchallenged.

But now Lance had arrived.

And he had become something truly immortal—a being who could not die.

Lance wanted to see for himself just how Kaidō's so-called immortality compared to his own.

"Lance, just listen to me!"

"Do you remember what Uncle Longte told us before he died?"

"He said, no matter what, don't seek revenge. Hatred only leads to madness, to slavery, to death! And just the two of us—how could we possibly defeat one of the Four Emperors and his most savage commander?"

"Please, let it go! Don't throw your life away! Would you really waste Uncle Longte's sacrifice like that?!"

Daniu was panicked when he saw Lance unmoved by his plea.

Sure, Lance might have killed Doflamingo somehow. No one knew how.

But just because you can kill Doflamingo doesn't mean you can fight an Emperor of the Sea!

Even Doflamingo himself had to bow respectfully in front of Kaidō. In this world, no one could go against the Emperors. Everyone who tried… died.

"I'm done listening to your whining."

"Just remember this—I speak, you listen. Save your breath for chewing your next meal."

Lance didn't bother arguing anymore.

The more they talked, the more pointless it became.

Who would believe he had become immortal?

People only believed what they could see and touch. Lance had no interest in putting on some theatrical suicide show to prove anything, and he certainly didn't need anyone's approval or support.

Killing Jack the Drought. Wiping out Kaidō.

That was something he could do alone.

With Doflamingo dead, King Riku and the people of Dressrosa were finally free. The truth behind the royal coup from years ago was revealed to the public.

Especially after Sugar's death, the toys regained their original forms. They embraced their loved ones and shared the agonizing experiences they'd endured.

Only then did the people of Dressrosa understand the truth—that the man they had revered… was the one who had condemned them to hell.

In response to the public outcry, the Riku royal family was reinstated.

All rumors that Lance was a "man-eating monster" were officially dispelled. He was declared the savior of Dressrosa—the great benefactor above even the royal house.

Though Lance had no interest in receiving gratitude from anyone, the admiration of the people couldn't be stopped.

With unanimous support, the people of Dressrosa began construction on a giant 50-meter statue modeled after Lance.

At the same time, the outside world was shaken by the news of Doflamingo's death.

"Boss… what do we do? Joker's dead. What about our weapons?!"

"You're asking me? Who the hell am I supposed to ask?! Damn clown! He took our money and died before shipping the goods! How the hell are we supposed to win this war now?!"

A rebel faction that had long relied on buying weapons from the Donquixote family was thrown into chaos when they heard of Doflamingo's death. Lacking firepower, they suffered devastating losses in a battle and were ultimately forced to surrender in despair.
