Ash started with the simplest of the items, picking up with the Basic Health Potion, explaining its simple yet practical use. "This heals small wounds and helps recover quickly in emergencies," he said, placing it back on the table. Next, he held up the Minor Luck Charm, a small pendant. "This boosts luck slightly for a short time. It might help when things aren't going our way."
Finally, he showed the Iron Rod, a plain yet sturdy weapon. "It's a basic tool for defense, nothing special but reliable," Ash said with a smile. "Sometimes, even simple items can make a big difference when used right."
Ash smiled as he picked up the Sea Stone Shackles and began explaining. "These are Sea Stone Shackles, effective for suppressing Devil Fruit powers. They can be used in situations where you need to neutralize someone's abilities." He then gestured to the Steel Fist Gauntlet, "These gauntlets are perfect for close combat. They're soul-bound, which means they can only be worn by a specific person, and they're upgradable, so their power grows as you do."
He continued, holding up the Training Manual: Advanced Physical Techniques, "This is a guide to advanced techniques for physical combat. Anyone looking to improve their strength or agility would find it useful." Ash paused for a moment before picking up the Ability Grade Upgrade Ticket, "This item can be used to upgrade a specific ability's grade, enhancing its power significantly."
Ash moved on to the Mask of Alteration, explaining, "This magical mask allows you to change your appearance completely, including your voice. It's great for disguises and deception." He then showcased the Kashu, a gleam of admiration in his eyes. "This sword is one of the Skillfull Grade Swords. It's known for its incredible craftsmanship, cutting ability, and balance. It's perfect for any swordsman looking to refine their skills."
Next, Ash picked up the Cloak of Shadows. "This cloak grants invisibility and makes you undetectable. It's a great asset for stealth operations, but only those with the matching soul-bound item can wear it."
He smiled at the Training Boost Pill, "These pills temporarily boost training efficiency, so you can improve your skills faster, but they can only be used once a day." Lastly, Ash held up the Crystal of Fortitude, "This crystal increases your resistance to damage for a short time, making it perfect when you need to tank some hits in battle."
He finished with a satisfied nod. "These are the rare type rewards. As the name indicates it's rare but better than common rewards. Each one has its own unique use depending on the situation."
Ash turns to Lucy says I would like to give something. Lucy asks if it something she can eat. Ash chuckled shaking his head as he handed the Steel Fist Gauntlet to Lucy, who immediately smiled, clapped her hands in excitement, and thanked him. As she slipped them on, Ash grinned and gave her instructions. "Now, try imagining they vanish." Lucy nodded and concentrated, and to her surprise, the gauntlets disappeared from her hands. "Nani? Ash, what happened?" she exclaimed comically, frantically searching around for them.
Ash laughed and waved his hand, calling her attention. "Alright, now imagine them coming back to you." Lucy closed her eyes, focusing on the thought, and as if by magic, the gauntlets reappeared. Her eyes widened, sparkling with excitement. "Sugoi, Ash! It really came back! It's like I can do magic!" she exclaimed, clearly impressed by the gauntlets' power.
Ash nodded, "Only those with the soul-bound to it can use the gauntlet like that and it has bonded to you so no one can use it except you," he explained. Lucy looked at the bracelet in awe, understanding how special the gauntlets were now.
Ash smiled as he picked up the Kashu, the Skillfull Grade Sword, and explained to Lucy and Uta, "This one's for me." He then gestured to the remaining Mask of Alteration and other rare items, adding, "I have some plans for these, but I'll tell you about them later." He gave them a reassuring smile, keeping the details for himself for now.
Ash then shows the Basic Inventory Bag, explaining, "This is a higher-level item than the rare-grade ones. I've got one for each of you." He hands a bag to both Lucy and Uta, continuing, "Just like the gauntlet, it bond to the wearer and linked bracelet you guys wear so no one can use it." Ash smiles and adds, "It's similar to the inventory I use, but a bit more limited."
Uta and Lucy both widen their eyes in surprise, shouting in unison, "Really?!" Lucy eagerly asks, "Can I store food in this? Makino, give me all the food!" Uta punches her lightly on the head, teasing, "What about the necessary items if you fill it all with food?" Ash chuckles softly and explains, "You can stack the same kind of food or items in one slot, up to 50 of the same."
Ash points to the Seed of Conqueror and tells the group, "I'll explain what this is in the future." Lucy chimes in curiously, "Is it a seed to grow a tree or something?" Ash smiles mysteriously, replying, "Just wait, you'll find out later," and stores it back in his inventory. He then takes out the Ship Enhancement Core: Time Dilation Room and the Ship Enhancement Core: Eternal Repair Module, explaining, "These two are for the ship. The first one enhances training capabilities, while the second removes the ship's energy dependency and grants an automatic repair function."
Lucy and Uta both widen their eyes in surprise but remain silent for the moment, processing everything Ash has shown them. Ash continues, taking out the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia and explaining, "This book contains the true information on all Devil Fruits, including their origins and abilities." He then holds up the Complete Rokushiki Manual and adds, "This manual will help you master the Rokushiki techniques, I'll explain about them later but just now that this is a secret technique know only for selected peoples, it helps in enhancing your combat skills and giving you access to powerful abilities." Both girls nod, intrigued by the potential of these legendary items.
Ash points out the Phoenix Feather, and as he finishes explaining its significance, even Makino widens her eyes in shock, her jaw nearly dropping. Seeing this, Ash laughs, amused by their reactions.
Makino chuckles at their expressions and then warns Ash, "Keep that safe. People would kill to get their hands on something like that."
Ash nods to Makino and assures her, "I'll only reveal it to the people I trust or when there's a major issue where I need to use it." He then carefully places the Phoenix Feather back into his inventory, ensuring it's safely stored for the future.
Lucy, eager to know about the last item, points to the Purity Crystal and asks, "What's this one?" Ash looks at her with a serious expression and responds, "I saved this one for last because I finally found the solution to the promise, I made to Shanks... the cure for Uta's Tot-Musica curse."
Hearing Ash's words, Uta's hand trembles as she reaches toward her cheek in disbelief. With a shaky voice, she asks, "Is it really true?" Ash pulls her into a comforting hug and reassures her, "It's true, but the only problem is you're not strong enough to use the crystal just yet. Once you're strong enough, I'll give it to you. Until then, I'll keep it safe."
Lucy and Makino both nod in support, standing by Uta. Uta, her resolve strengthening, nods back and asks Ash, "Please help me get strong, so I'll be ready to use it." Ash looks at her with determination and says, "I'll help, but it won't be easy." Lucy, feeling equally determined, raises her hand and shouts, "I'll help too! We'll do it together!"
Lucy, spotting the basket of fruits left on the bar, can't help but salivate at the sight. She eagerly looks at Ash and asks, "Ash, can I have some of these fruits?" Without missing a beat, Ash pounds her lightly on the head, saying, "It's not for eating, Lucy."
Lucy pouts and retorts, "You too, Ash?" Ash chuckles and explains, "These aren't for eating. This is also another grade item, the Basket of Eternal Fruits. It's the highest grade of all the items I've shown you so far. Its purpose isn't for food, but it has other, more significant uses."
Ash continues, explaining the Basket of Eternal Fruits' purpose. "If someone with a Devil Fruit dies, the fruit will reincarnate into a nearby fruit of the same category. For example, if it's an apple-based Devil Fruit, it will reincarnate into the nearest apple, transforming it into a Devil Fruit.
With this basket, though, within a 100 km radius of a death, the fruit will reincarnate into this basket instead of a nearby fruit. It separates into two sections—one for the Devil Fruits and one for regular fruits. After transformation, another regular fruit appears in its place."
Lucy, Uta, and Makino were all surprised upon hearing Ash's explanation. After a moment of silence, Lucy suddenly shouts, "Ash! You're getting so many cool items from the voice! Join my pirate crew!" Ash chuckles and places the Basket of Eternal Fruits into his inventory, replying, "I'm aiming to become Pirate King, so you should join my crew." Lucy, still not convinced, continues insisting, "No way! You have to join my crew, and I'm not joining yours. Also I'm going to be Pirate Queen!" The two get into a playful back-and-forth argument, which lasts for a good two minutes.
Meanwhile, Uta and Makino enjoy watching the playful exchange. Finally, Uta interrupts, stopping the argument with a laugh.
Uta, with a thoughtful expression, suggests, "Why don't you both become captains of same crew? When one of you isn't around to make a decision, the co-captain can take charge." Ash and Lucy pause, considering the idea. After a moment, Ash nods, saying, "Alright, two captains it is." Lucy then chimes in, "I'll decide on the pirate flag!" Ash grins and agrees. The two shake hands, sealing the deal, and Lucy chuckles, "Shishishi."
Lucy punches her hand with a triumphant smile, as if she's just had a brilliant idea. She turns toward Uta and says, "Uta, join our crew as the Diva!" Uta, feigning mock surprise, teases, "Oh, I see, so you want me to join huh?" But after a pause, she nods with a playful grin and accepts. "Alright, I'll join."
Lucy immediately pulls both Ash and Uta into a group hug, laughing joyfully. "We got our first member besides us!" Ash laughs along, agreeing with excitement. Uta smiles, feeling the warmth of the moment. Watching them, Makino can't help but smile at the sight of the new crew forming.
Makino, noticing someone enter the bar, widened her eyes in recognition. As Ash, Lucy, and Uta were deep in their conversation, a booming voice interrupted them. "So, Lucy, now you have two others joining you in your silly dream." The trio froze, clutching their heads in surprise. Lucy stood motionless like a statue, then exclaimed in shock, "Grandpa?" Ash, still caught up in the excitement and not recognizing the man, turned to him with Uta and said in unison, "Who are you, old man?"
Without waiting for a reply, Garp chuckled and marched up to them, delivering his signature "fist of love" to all three with a loud laugh. He then mockingly shouted, "Who are you calling old?!" Uta and Ash, still clutching their heads from the impact, were taken aback, while Lucy's eyes were full of surprise and recognition as she faced her grandpa.
Uta, her eyes flashing with irritation, bares her shark-like teeth and shouts at Garp, "Hey, old man! Why are you punching us on the head? Do you even know who my father is?!" Ash, finally piecing together the situation, looks at the old man in recognition and exclaims, "Monkey D. Garp!"
Uta, with a mix of pride and annoyance, reveals, "I'm Shanks' daughter!" At this, Garp grins widely and, in his usual teasing manner, says, "So, you're Shanks' daughter, huh?" He then starts poking fun at her by picking his nose as if he doesn't care, "Guess that explains the attitude! But if you're anything like him, you're probably a handful!" Garp's insults come in full force, poking fun at Shanks' carefree nature, which only adds fuel to Uta's already fiery temper.
Lucy, her face flushing with anger, shouts at Garp, "Grandpa, don't insult Shanks! He's a great pirate! He saved me, you know!" Garp, already hearing everything from Woop slap, just shrugs and mockingly retorts, "So what?" before shouting at Lucy, "How dare you talk to your grandpa like that!" He then delivers another fist of love to her head.
However, as Garp's punch lands, Lucy's head stretches like rubber, and she smirks, sticking her tongue out at him, "Grandpa, I ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi fruit, so I became a rubber person! Now your fist of love doesn't hurt me, Shishishi!" Garp, now seeing her head stretch in such a comical way, drops his jaw in surprise. But the moment doesn't last long, as he grows angry and punches her again, this time harder. Lucy clutches her head in pain, shouting, "How can I feel pain?! How did you do that?!"
Garp, now holding Lucy by the ear, and Lucy both start shouting at each other comically, causing a scene. Ash, finally managing to compose himself after the chaos, steps forward and asks, "Wait, are you the Marine hero Garp?" Garp, momentarily pausing, drops Lucy and pokes his nose, replying, "Brat, so you're knowledgeable and do know some things, huh?"
Lucy, surprised to hear Garp's words, exclaims, "Nani, Grandpa, you're a hero?" Garp, hearing this, points his nose upwards proudly, and declares, "That's why you should join the Marines like your grandpa, forget about becoming a pirate!" Lucy, not backing down, shouts in defiance, "No! I want to become Pirate Queen! See, I even started a crew! Ash is becoming captain with me, and Uta is our diva!"
Garp, shaking his head with a sigh, mutters, "You brats," and delivers another comical "Fist of Love" to Lucy, shouting, "That red-haired brat filled your heads with nonsense!" Lucy retorts with confidence, saying, "My dad doesn't tell nonsense! He's a great pirate!" with her hands on her hips. Garp, not caring, pokes his nose in a typical fashion, unimpressed.
Just then, Makino enters into the conversation and, says observing the commotion, with a serious look, "Garp-san, you started your fight with Lucy as soon as you came?!" Garp, hearing her, sweats bullet and immediately sits down quietly, asking for a drink. With that, all three—Lucy, Uta, and Ash—sit beside him, still unsure of how to deal with the chaotic situation.
Ash, unable to resist, teasingly laughs and points at Garp, saying, "The great Marine Hero Garp... scared of a barmaid!" Garp's eyes narrow, and he mockingly shouts, "Brat, do you want to taste my Fist of Love?!" Just as he moves, Makino calmly steps in, her expression firm as she turns to Ash.
"Oh? So, you're not afraid of me, huh?" she asks, her voice sweet but menacing. Ash immediately starts to stammer, waving his hands defensively, "N-no, I didn't mean—" Meanwhile, Lucy and Uta chuckle silently, enjoying Ash's sudden predicament. Garp, bursting into laughter, points at Ash and guffaws loudly, saying, "Look at you now, brat!"
As the group settled around the table, Lucy began recounting her memories of the time she spent with Shanks and his crew. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she spoke about their wild parties, the daring stories they shared, and how Shanks always treated her like family. "There was this one time," she said, laughing, "Shanks and his crew tried teaching me how to balance on the mast, but I kept falling into the water!"
Garp, listening with crossed arms, suddenly barked out, "And that's supposed to be a great pirate crew? Teaching a kid to be reckless instead of responsible?!" His mock outrage earned a round of laughter from Uta and Makino, while Lucy pouted and argued back. "It was fun, Grandpa! Shanks was awesome!" Ash chuckled, enjoying the lively exchange, while Garp continued to grumble exaggeratedly, muttering about the bad influence of pirates.
The lively chatter and laughter carried on late into the evening as everyone shared stories and bonded. Eventually, the bar quieted down, and they each retired for the night, with Lucy and Uta still teasing Ash about his earlier stammering. Garp, though gruff as ever, seemed to enjoy the company, and Makino's warm smile lingered as she tidied up the bar.
The next morning, the sun rose over the peaceful village, casting a golden glow over Foosha Village. The group gathered again, refreshed and ready to face a new day, with the lingering warmth of their camaraderie setting the tone for what was to come.
As Lucy enthusiastically discussed her dream of becoming Pirate Queen with Ash as Pirate King, she declared her intention to find the greatest treasure the world had ever known. Garp, unimpressed, interrupted her with his booming voice, insisting she follow in his footsteps and become a Marine officer. Turning his attention to Ash and Uta, he gave the same lecture, emphasizing the honor of serving justice.
Uta, crossing her arms, firmly replied, "I won't listen to you, old geezer. I have my own dreams, and they don't involve being bossed around by Marines." Ash chimed in with a smirk, "Yeah, I'm not going to be someone those fish bowl heads can order around. My goal is to become Pirate King—not for power, but to protect the people important to me."
Lucy burst out laughing, "Shishishi! Good one, Ash!" Her infectious laughter filled the room, but she, Uta, and Makino were visibly puzzled by the "fish bowl heads" reference. Garp, on the other hand, immediately understood the insult aimed at the Celestial Dragons, the so-called World Nobles. With a hearty laugh, he delivered a firm "fist of love" to Ash's head.
Ash clutched his head comically, groaning, "Old man, why are you punching me after saying you like me?"
Garp, mockingly shouting, retorted, "Who are you calling old man, brat?" He then turned serious, looking at both Uta and Ash. "From now on, you two brats also call me Grandpa. Got it?"
Garp leaned back with a sigh, his usual stern expression softening just slightly. "Listen up, brats," he began, "starting tomorrow, I won't be here regularly. I'll be out at sea, though I'll stay in the East Blue for some time. Before I leave, I'm taking you three somewhere else tomorrow—a place where you can stay for a while."
Ash, realizing the implications of Garp's words, remained silent, his face thoughtful. Lucy, however, immediately objected, crossing her arms defiantly. "I'm not leaving the village, Grandpa!" she declared loudly.
In response, Garp delivered another "fist of love," and Lucy groaned dramatically, clutching her head. "How can this hurt? I'm a rubber person!" she protested indignantly.
Garp smirked. "If you join the Marines, I'll teach you why," he teased. Lucy, in turn, stuck her tongue out at him childishly. This quickly escalated into another lively, shouting match between the two, their voices echoing through the bar as Ash and Uta exchanged amused glances.
As Makino shot both Lucy and Garp a sharp glare, the two immediately quieted down and slid onto the barstools again like chastised children. Ash, seizing the moment, leaned forward with a grin. "Hey, old man, can you teach me how to fight whenever you're free after you come back?"
Garp raised an eyebrow, his mock sternness returning. "Brat, how many times do I have to tell you? Call me Grandpa!" He sighed dramatically and crossed his arms. "Anyway, I can't teach you unless you join the Marines. So, what do you say? Ready to sign up?"
Ash smirked mischievously. "Che, Shanks and his crew taught me a lot already—and they're pirates." The indirect jab at the Marines hung in the air for a moment.
Garp's face turned mock-angry, his fists clenching. "You little brat! I'll show you just how great the Marines are!" He punctuated his declaration by slamming his fist onto the bar table with such force that the whole thing rattled, drawing startled looks from everyone.
Ash leaned forward, his grin widening. "Then teach not just me but train Lucy and Uta too. If you can do that, then maybe we'll say the Marines are great."
Uta and Lucy both started to speak up in protest, their expressions full of skepticism, but Ash shot them a sharp look, silencing them instantly. Garp, caught up in the heat of the moment, slammed his fist on the bar table again and barked, "Fine! I'll train all three of you, and you'll see just how amazing the Marines are!"
Makino, watching the scene unfold, let out a long sigh and slapped her forehead. "Garp-san... how do you keep falling for this?" she muttered to herself, shaking her head as the lively exchange continued
Ash jumped up in excitement, shouting, "Yes!" Garp, finally realizing he had been manipulated, scowled. "You brat, how dare you trick me into teaching you? Join the Marines, then I'll teach you," he grumbled.
Ash smirked, teasing, "The great marine hero Garp going back on his word and being outsmarted by a child? What a shame for the Marines!" Uta finally understood and burst into laughter, while Lucy, still a bit confused, joined in, laughing along with Uta. Makino chuckled softly from the side, watching the chaotic scene unfold.
Garp's face turned a deep red, a mix of mock shame and anger. "Fine, fine! After I leave tomorrow, I'll come back and teach you, but if you don't grasp anything, it's your loss," he sighed, clearly defeated. Ash nodded, accepting the deal.
The day passed with the usual chaos and laughter, and by the next morning, the scene was set. Garp was carrying Lucy by the cheek, her legs dangling in the air as she shouted, "I told you already, grandpa! I'll become Pirate Queen along with Ash as Pirate King!"
Garp, not at all pleased, grumbled, "Pirate King or Queen, my foot! Not only did you eat a Devil Fruit, but you also have the gall to speak to me like that! You, along with Ash, Uta, and Ace, are going to be the strongest Marines that ever lived when you grow up!"
Ash and Uta, in unison, shouted, "Don't decide for us, old man!" Lucy, still hanging by her cheek, curiously asked, "Who is Ace?"
Garp grinned, replying, "She's going to be your sister from now on."
Ash, hearing this, understood immediately—this was going to be just like when he first met Lucy. He had thought he'd meet a male Luffy, but instead, he had met Lucy. The realization settled in as he chuckled lightly to himself.
Lucy continued punching and kicking Garp's leg, shouting, "Oww, grr, why does it hurt if I'm rubber? Let me go, grandpa!"
Garp, unfazed, replied with a smirk, "It was a mistake for me to leave you here in this lukewarm village."
With that, Garp kept walking towards his destination, still carrying Lucy by her cheek. Ash and Uta followed closely behind, trudging up the mountain path to Mt. Colbo, which lay just behind the windmill village. The sound of the wind whistling through the trees filled the air as the group made their way to the location.
Finally, they reached a spot on the mountain where a small wooden house stood amidst the trees. Ash looked at it curiously, knowing clearly who lived there.
Garp, wasting no time, strode up to the door and started banging on it with his fist, shouting, "Dadan, get out here!"
After a few moments, the door creaked open, and a flustered, curly-haired woman peeked out, sweating nervously. Behind her, a handful of rough-looking individuals gathered, peering out with equal unease.
"Garp-san," she greeted with a mix of fear and forced politeness.
Garp ignored her tone and declared bluntly, "From today onward, my granddaughter is staying here, along with these two brats—Ash and Uta."
The entire group, including Dadan and her companions, froze in shock, their voices overlapping in a collective outburst: "What?! Garp-san—granddaughter?!"
Dadan began sweating bullets, her voice shaky as she stammered, "Garp-san, give me a break already! That Ace girl is already 10, you know! I'm not gonna be able to handle much more of this! Take them back already, will you?"
Behind her, her crew members shouted incredulously, "Garp-san, you're bringing a few more brats now?!"
The group erupted into murmurs, clearly overwhelmed by the prospect of more troublemakers under their roof. Dadan's nervousness grew as she eyed the trio behind Garp—Lucy pouting, Ash smirking knowingly, and Uta looking both annoyed and amused at the unfolding scene.
Garp laughed heartily, his voice echoing through the mountain air. "Yup, that's the deal! So, choose, fellas—spend the rest of your lives behind bars, or raise these brats for me. I've been keeping the Marines off your backs, which are more than a few, I might add!"
Dadan stammered, her hands flailing in frustration. "W-Well... yeah, we don't want to be arrested! But I'm already at my wit's end with Ace alone, and now you want me to take care of your granddaughter?!" She pointed dramatically at Lucy, Ash, and Uta. "And two more brats on top of that?!"
Her crew groaned in exasperation, some muttering under their breath, while Ash and Uta exchanged a glance, clearly unimpressed by the chaos. Lucy, however, stood proudly, hands on her hips, as if she'd already claimed her place as queen of the household.
Dadan continued pointing at the trio, exasperation etched on her face. "They're little monsters, aren't they? Just like the other one?"
Just then, someone spat at Lucy, the glob landing on her cheek. Oblivious at first, Lucy touched her cheek and recoiled in disgust. "Spit? Gross! Hey, who did this?!" she shouted, spinning around to find the culprit.
Garp grinned, his eyes locking on the culprit with amused recognition. "Hey, Ace!" he called out, a teasing edge to his voice.
Dadan, startled, turned to the source of the commotion. "Woah! Ace, you're back already?" she exclaimed, her tone half-surprised, half-relieved as she spotted the figure in question.
All eyes turned toward a 10-year-old girl sitting on a tree stump, her arms crossed and an annoyed expression on her face. Her unruly hair framed a face full of defiance, and her piercing gaze made it clear she was sizing everyone up.
The tension lingered in the air as Lucy, Ash, and Uta observed her curiously. Garp's grin widened as he gestured toward her. "Meet Acelyn, or as she prefers, Ace—another little firecracker to add to the mix."
The group exchanged glances; the air thick with unspoken questions. Lucy, ever the curious one, seemed on the verge of shouting something when Ace's sharp voice cut through the silence. "Who the hell are these clowns, Gramps?"
What followed promised to be nothing short of chaotic, as Garp's booming laugh rang out and the newcomers prepared to meet the fiery girl who would soon become a part of their already lively journey.
