Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Awakening Armament Haki
"There is a long way to go."
On the bow of the pirate ship, Lucifer let out a soft sigh.
"System, buy Awakening Stage Armament Haki."
"Ding! The purchase of Armament Haki was successful. 1,000 kill points were deducted, and the remaining kill points are 2,500."
The electronic voice ended, and a force poured into Lucifer's body, dispersing into all his limbs.
This power came and went so quickly that Lucifer only felt it for a split second. When it was gone, he never felt it again.
"Is that it? It feels like nothing has changed."
Lucifer tried to activate the power within him, but his body didn't respond at all, as if the kill points were wasted.
In the awakening stage of Armament Haki, Lucifer couldn't manipulate it freely; it would only manifest once or twice unconsciously.
However, the attribute panel confirmed that Lucifer had indeed awakened Armament Haki.
Properties Panel:
Host: Lucifer
Age: 23
Devil Fruit: Word Spirit Fruit
Physique: Hell Demon
Armament Haki: Awakening
Kill Points: 2,500
With 2,500 kill points left, Lucifer didn't buy Observation Haki or Conqueror's Haki.
Right now, Armament Haki was the most useful ability for him.
It was the necessary power to deal with Logia users, and it was something Lucifer needed to master.
Otherwise, no matter how extraordinary the Word Spirit Fruit was, it might be useless against certain Logia users.
"It seems my next goal is to hunt down powerful targets."
Lucifer didn't contemplate long-term plans for his future.
He didn't want to be a Marine or a pirate; he just wanted to hunt down some powerful targets and gain more kill points.
For now, getting stronger was his only goal.
As for the future, he would think about it later.
......
A few days later, the vast sea was calm.
The sun shone on the water, creating sparkling reflections.
A few small fish jumped out of the sea, splashing water everywhere.
A somewhat dilapidated large ship, the Bloodline, cut through the waves and sailed in this sea area.
The hull was fifty or sixty meters long, and a flag fluttered in the wind atop the thick mast.
The flag bore a skull with blood flowing from it, a bloody longsword piercing the skull, with two crows flying on either side.
This was the flag of the Blood Sword Pirates. The owner of this flag was Cattelan, nicknamed Blood Sword. He was a pirate with a bounty of 85 million Baileys.
In the first half of the Grand Line, Blood Sword Cattelan was somewhat notorious.
On the pirate ship, members of the Blood Sword Pirates were having a banquet.
More than two hundred pirates were gathered in groups, laughing, drinking, and eating meat.
"Hahahaha, Captain, we did a big job this time! Will the captain's bounty increase again?"
"That's right! The captain's bounty will exceed 100 million, and then the captain will be a supernova!"
"There are only a few supernova pirates every year; the captain will definitely be the fastest to become a supernova this year!"
"That's right! The captain is the strongest and will definitely become the Pirate King in the future!"
A group of pirates flattered the man sitting at the head of the table.
He wore a blood-colored overcoat and stood over four meters tall, with a hideous scar across his face that resembled a centipede.
In his hand, he leaned on a bloody longsword, with dry blood still staining the blade.
He was Blood Sword Cattelan, a man who reveled in killing.
"Yeah, hahaha! Well said, little ones! I will definitely become the Pirate King."
"Follow me, and you will all be part of the crew of the Pirate King in the future!"
Cattelan took a bottle of wine and drank it, gulping it down in one go while laughing arrogantly.
At this moment, a pirate's voice rang out. He was the lookout on the ship, responsible for alerting the crew during the banquet.
"Captain! There's a pirate ship ahead!"
"Nani? Can you see what flag it is?"
Cattelan put down the bottle and asked.
"It looks like a black snake is painted on the flag," the lookout replied.
"Black Snake? Is it the Black Snake Pirates?"
A sneer of disdain appeared at the corner of Cattelan's mouth.
"Captain, I've heard of the Black Snake Pirates. They are just a group of weaklings. Captain Snake's bounty seems to be only 35 million."
Said one of the crew members.
"That's right! The Black Snake Pirates are very weak; they can't compare to our Blood Sword Pirates."
"Captain, let's attack! This is a fat sheep delivered right to our door."
"Quack, quack! My big knife is already hungry for blood!"
The crew laughed ferociously, each grabbing their weapons and moving toward the side of the ship.
In the world of pirates, life was very cruel, and conflicts could erupt at any moment.
When two pirate crews met at sea, it was often a matter of life and death!
The members of the Blood Sword Pirates prided themselves on their strength, and when they encountered the weak Black Snake Pirates, they naturally sought to kill and seize their treasure.
"Okay, little ones! Get ready to fight!"
Cattelan smashed the wine bottle in his hand, picked up the big sword beside him, and roared loudly.
He walked to the bow, looked at the pirate ship a few nautical miles away, and gave the order, "When the target is within range, fire immediately!"
"Give them a salvo first; let them taste our firepower!"
"Understood, Captain!"
Many pirates took their positions, launched more than a dozen cannons, and adjusted their aim to align with the pirate ship ahead.
Just then, the lookout spoke again, "Captain, something is wrong."
"There's no one on the opposite ship, only a young boy sitting on the bow!"
