One Piece: I'm Mihawk's Son

Chapter 166: Rocks D. Ali

A switch was flipped alongside the revelation and Crocodile snapped.

BOOOOOMMMM!!

BOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

From the city of Alubarna, a crowd of spectators felt a breeze of cold air wash them over as the snow continued to pile up all over, shockwaves came from the distance as a battle was fought between the bringer of dryness and an incoming rain of salvation.

The shockwaves of the distance increased in intensity and all the elderly could do was pray that this miracle would extend, all while the young and naive played with the snow, unaware the fate of their kingdom was at stake. But that was precisely what Veyron had hoped.

The young man in question continued to dodge a rumble of attacks each capable of shattering a hill.

"Calm down, it was just a little secret! We can pretend it never happened, I can forget it!"

"You think I don't know how good your memory is? DIE!"

If before she looked like she just wanted to win the battle and merely imprison them, now it looked like she wanted Veyron dead without a burial. And the problem was precisely that, 'she' was exposed to the person she least wanted to know her secret.

Veyron tiptoed and flickered like a thunderbolt while the gigantic fiend blasted craters all over the place trying to get him. He swung his arm and a shining blue lightning bolt of hundreds of millions of volts rocked the world and shot towards Crocodile's arm.

CHAAA!!!

BOOOOMMMM!!

The explosion turned her sand into glass -the joint that joined her shoulder and arm- but quickly enough a new one began to protrude. Her attacks receded as once again her hopes of emerging victorious wanned.

'I'm already giving it my all. He hasn't used a billion volts yet... and I can't reach him' The degree of frustration in her soul was immensurable. She believed she could firmly face an admiral head-on but when it came to him, it was another level.

Her secret was exposed and she could do nothing about it. Veyron though, started thinking as he usually did and thought that perhaps, there was still time to fix things.

"I think I have been overly rude to you all this time" He confessed, further insencing her.

BOOOOOMMMMM!!!!

"TOO LATE FOR THAT, BASTARD!"

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

"You never heard?! Let bygones be gone-! hey, stop it! I'm talking!"

BOOOOOOOOMMMM!!

"YOU STEPPED ON ME EVERY TIME I DID SOMETHING WRONG!"

BOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

RUMBLE!!!

CHAAA!!!

"Like I said I'm sorry alright? You're supposed to be a villain, no, a villaness… sh*t I don't know anymore. That's why I hate all that gender sh*t".

"WHAT!?"

Seeing that the conversation was going nowhere, Veyron decided to end it all... they would be able to talk properly when her hands were shackled with seastone.

"If you have frustrations, come and let's sort them out!"

His body started to grow in size and acquire a godly blue lightning appearance, she knew this technique of his and although it was devastating... it was far from his best. Nevertheless, this is what she wanted.

'A fistfight, this is my chance!'.

"That's all I wanted, to pummel you to the ground at least once. Put that sword aside and come at me, Veyron!"

It wasn't only she who knew her opponent, so did Veyron. He recognised that Crocodile was way more experienced when it came to her fists compared to him. They had lived completely different lives and as he thought about this, his mind started to divagate like every time he grew curious about something.

'If she was a woman... what was her life like?'

She swung forward and so did he.

*BOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!*

What began could only be looked at from the distance as a brawl of nature: A Lightning Storm against a Sand Storm.

*BAAANNGG!!*

Crocodile ducked and dodged skilfully, counterattacking with a dexterity that he expected, she was much better in a fist-fight, but in the end… her fists created shockwaves that distorted his lightning form, but they didn't scatter it. He was way faster, she expected all of his movements and kept her distance... but eventually, one of Veyron's fists was bound to connect.

And it with came along nigh-endless lightning power. When one of Veyron's fists connected, it was oblivion.

*BOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!*

"Ugh!"

An explosion against her waist blasted her sand and turned it straight into the glass, compromising the whole structure of her form which nearly shattered.

"W-Why… why are you so strong? I have trained... I have more experience!"

"Experience? Hmph, for the last few weeks I have learned first-hand that experience has nothing to do with anything, Crocodile... what matters is fast and deep you thrust, I studied it all!".

"... what?" Her eyebrows twitched in confusion.

!!!

"Sorry, I confused topics. What I meant to say is that I've had to survive on my own, always".

"And so have I! So why are we so different!?"

"…"

Her sand form reformed but it was all for nought. Veyron raised his gigantic arm and a majestic shockwave was released, freezing the whole world.

RUMBLE!!

CHAA!!!

A lightning domain descended in the secular world from the godly realm, leaving Crocodile awestruck.

RUMBLE!!

The lightning titan began to levitate, and with him, huge chunks of sand and trees, even Crocodile felt her gigantic body get pulled up as the shape of a gigantic hammer began to form in his hand, the rain clouds dispersed and the sand storm settled down. The world grew still as if waiting for God's judgement.

"Ever since I came to this world I have viewed myself as inferior to nobody, Crocodile. Not even my mother… every obstacle in front of me I'll surpass it. Every foe in front of me I'll shatter head-on. Listen to me and learn, the only battles worth winning are the ones fought forthright!".

"I promised to myself I'd shatter all those who believed themselves infallible and unreachable. Sadly for me, you have taken that spot. Take this hammer of mine. You submitted this country to endless drought, and a multitude of people suffered. That's an injustice I can't allow. Even if you're my friend, accept your punishment".

RUMBLE!!

CHAAAA!!

The hammer seemed to fall in slow motion and it kept increasing in size as if to cause further devastation. All she could do was close her eyes and accept death.

'I didn't think he'd go as far as to kill me... but I guess this is as far as I go... dying here, alone until the very end'.

RUMBLE!!!

!!!

The hammer descended and she felt what resembled a warming will engulfing her. Her eyes opened to see darkness surrounding her on all sides. With Robin standing forth, facing the hammer with an unwavering gaze. By the time Veyron realised what she was doing it was too late.

Robin extended her arms forward and a dark cyclone was produced, trying to take on the world-ending hammer.

BOOOOOMMMMM!!!

"Ugh!"

'So heavy!'

Robin groaned in front of the disbelieving Crocodile, her darkness struggled to absorb the ridiculous light of Veyron's lightning… his weakest lightning was already this heavy.

"Robin what are you doing!?" Veyron yelled in utter anger while dispelling his power but it wasn't going to be that fast. The hammer disappeared amidst sparks of lightning but Robin's hand was already smoking and scalding hot despite how much of the energy she managed to swallow.

Her body fell, dizzy but she was caught by Crocodile.

"Are you stupid?!"

Robin ignored Crocodile and instead focused on Veyron who flickered in front of them in absolute outrage.

"Please don't kill her, she's my friend".

"Fool, I'm not trying to kill her!"

"It looked like that attack was going to finish her off".

"A measly three hundred million volts, do you think that would have been enough?"

"…"

"Hmph, don't you see how strong he no, she is?! Of course, she'd be able to take that easily!"

"…"

Crocodile scratched her nose and groaned, "Of course I would, idiot..."

The three of them sighed and sat on the sand, they slumped on the ground, looking at the skies that seemed to split into three areas. In front of them, was a clear sky. To the right, heavy rain clouds, to the left, endless snow.

"You should have just killed me" Crocodile started.

"I won't lose you, Ali".

"You betrayed me. You lied to me about the poneglyph. I found an ancient city under Alubarna!"

Robin and Crocodile quickly got back into an argument, Veyron sighed, 'At least they're just arguing now instead of fighting'.

"I'm sorry if it looked like that. I swear to you now I didn't know about that city. The poneglyph only spoke about the location of Pluton in the country of wano, nothing else. During my stay in the palace, I learned about many things... the name of the lost ancestor of Nefertari and the mention of an old godly city that once existed in Alabasta before the void century, but those were mere myths, I could have never known!"

"Then why did you try to stop me from digging?! You sank a tunnel on me, I could have died!"

"I thought you were trying to sink the city from the bottom!".

"Stupid girl why would I do that?!"

"Because you look like a drunk villain, that's why-" Veyron coughed and whispered only to be shut down by a pair of angry tigresses.

"Shut up jerk! / Sweetheart keep quiet!"

He raised his arms in defeat and lay comfortably on the ground while both 'ladies' discussed their lungs out for some good half an hour. In the end, Crocodile grew tired of it, understanding that everything had been a misunderstanding. She slumped back and looked inside her shirt for tobacco but the lighter was gone.

She put the cigarette towards Veyron who sighed and sparked some lightning, litting up the cigarette.

The roguish man, now confirmed lady, took a whiff to calm down.

"I hate the two of you with a passion... let bygones be gone you said?" (Crocodile).

"I'm willing to forgive and forget..." (Veyron)

"Then let bygones be gone" (Crocodile)

"You're still my pet after this though" (Veyron)

"Bastard, you just want war!" (Crocodile)

**

**

Enough time went by for the rain clouds to finally settle in as rain began to pour in Alabasta together with the snow, it was the victory of the rain over the sand. Dropplets of water fell on their faces and Crocodile's cigarette wetted out.

"I hate water..."

"If you knew her secret why didn't you ever tell me?" Veyron asked Robin who gave him a look as if asking 'Seriously?'.

"It was her secret, how was I going to tell you? Moreover she told me explicitly not to tell you".

"Why?"

"For no reason" Crocodile huffed while Robin giggled.

"Ugh, it seems this matter is over now, but there is still a ton of diplomatic nonsense to deal with" Veyron stretched before picking the outraged Crocodile up like a sack of potatoes.

"Damn brat, the years go by and you're just the same... doing whatever you want, I don't care anymore. I'm tired of this sh*t".

Hearing her resignation Veyron smiled and began levitating alongside Robin, back to Alubarna.

"By the way what's your real name?"

"Ali… Rocks D. Ali"

!!!

"Rocks D!? Could it be… you're Rocks D. Xebec's daughter!?"

"Yes…"

"Why change your gender?"

"I was hunted down by the world government from a very young age. My mother was a celestial dragon... they thought I was the daughter of an average citizen or slave. I lived a comfortable life until the incidents in God Valley" Her gaze grew grim as if recalling a particular face among the bunch, one she had extreme hatred against.

"After that, it was decreed that anyone related to Rocks D. Xebec had to be erased from history... including me and my mother who were nothing but stains in Marie Geoise. She was murdered but bought time for me so that I could flee, at that time I had already eaten my devil fruit, which helped me but they wouldn't let me be no matter where I went. That bastard also had a lot of enemies: pirates and marines. I was hunted by every side you could imagine. Marine, Cypher pol, pirates... even random civilians in every kingdom I touched. I was captured and tortured... I was abused... every time I managed to flee, somebody else would catch me... the last person to ever help me was Gol D. Roger".

What made Veyron's heart crack the most was not what she went through... but the causal why she said it. No pain, no sadness, no reaction... all emptiness.

"Roger?"

"He found me in my lowest state. He told me he owed Xebec one favour... and then he took me somewhere I will never forget, the Kamabakka Kingdom, that's when I met-"

"That's when Crocoboy met me".

A gust of wind gave way to three individuals who appeared in front of the flying Veyron, Crocidle and Robin.

Curiously enough, they all seemed to know at least one person in the opposite party.

The revolutionaries and the liberators met for the first time.

"Veyron…"

"Dragon…"

"Ivankov!"

"Crocoboy~"

"Kuma".

"Demon Child".
