One Piece: I Understand It Now

Chapter 31: He Whose Creation was Near Perfect!

Chapter 31: He Whose Creation was Near Perfect!

The Devil, Lucifer.

Was he really a devil? From the looks of it, he was more like an advanced form of the angels.

Ken looked at the spekaing monster thoughtfully. To be able to create something like this, whoever that scientist was, he was more dangerous than Ken had thought.

Now, things would definitely not be as simple, and to leave, he had to deal with an enemy who was most definitely stronger than the previous angel, not to mention the droves of the flying fucks around him.

"The Devil, Lucifer, huh? How pretentious. Who dares to give you that name? I have to say they're really bold." Ken said. This time, he was speaking his true mind and not cheesy lines to get the fight going.

"The real bold one here is you. Master was thinking of only capturing you alive, but you had to go and kill little 33; now we have come, and worry not, you won't be able to leave, not alive at least." The Devil said.

"That's not up to you." Ken said.

"Aha? Then show me!"

*FWSH* *BOOOOOOM*

"Heh. The little 33 you're speaking about hit far harder than you did." Ken spoke.

The two were at a stalemate with the devil bringing down his black bone sword at Ken from above, and Ken, with some effort, held it down, not moving a single step back.

This was to show that when Ken fights an enemy stronger than him, by the time he defeats him, he becomes many times stronger. This was what adapting truly meant.

The devil was strong. truly.

He was far stronger than the previous angel, and this could easily be deduced by the aftermath of their small encounter.

"Bunch of bastards! GET OVER HERE!" Commanding his underlings, the Devil made some distance between him and Ken.

Their surroundings had been turned to rubble, and an area of 30 meters around them had only dirt as if the ground had been overturned, and the large trees of the forest that Ken had yet to surpass in his attempt to escape were thrown over in a circle, far beyond them.

This rate of progress was ridiculous, but so were the power levels of One Piece. Though Ken had met with a very unfamiliar scenery, not unlike many of the enemies the original crew had fought, it wasn't a situation that was too far off with how diverse and large the world truly was.

"32 against 1? How unfair." Ken jumped back a few steps to get a look at the full terrain, and the area around him at the moment proved to be advantageous.

If before he could barely see all of the angels flying around, then now he could see them all.

*Fwshh* *Fwshh* *Fwshhh*

The angels seemed to follow the orders of the devil, flying around Ken in a circle.

And in a few seconds, they started to attack him all at once from the sky.

"Believe me, Lucifer. You're committing a grave mistake by attacking me all at once." Ken spoke.

He was truly enjoying this battle; in fact, this whole trip has been insightful and fun for him, and at the moment, he was discovering more parts of himself he didn't know of.

*SLASH*

A slash had come from the young man's rear. One of the angels thought it was smart and that he wouldn't see it.

But the enemy moved unpredictably and then looked at it with a terrifying smile.

"Hello there!"

*SLASH* *Thud*

A single slash, and an angel fell.

This scene had caused the atmosphere, which had been drowned with the noise of the flying angels, to turn stale for a split second.

But it immediately returned to its previous state.

"We've truly underestimated you, little rat." The devil shouted.

"But don't get over your head. Though you might be capable of killing us, we are many and powerful; sooner or later, you will die." His voice was heard from an unknown corner of the sky, and Ken said nothing in return as he closed his eyes for a second before he opened them.

*Thump*

Jumping up, he performed a flip backwards, escaping a deadly thrust from the devil himself.

'Tsk.' This guy was clever and shrewd.

Making Ken think that he was far off, he immediately charged at him instead of his underlings in an attempt to deliver a deadly slash, but he had failed.

Still...

*Thump* *Thump* *Fwshh*

They were not joking.

Attack after attack, after the death of the first angel, Ken had a hard time even stopping his movement, let alone delivering another fatal blow.

"Huff, Huff."

"Getting tired, are we? We can go as far as this world exists. Let us see how long you last." The devil said, his voice once again being heard from all corners of the sky as Ken jumped, dodged, and turned, evading every attempt to injure him with perfect movement.

"We're immortal, we're undead, we—I'm superior! I'M PERFECT!" Suddenly changing his speech, the devil seemed to be entranced in this situation where he was hunting a normal human.

"Kekekekekek! Kekek! KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEK!"
