One Piece: Heaven-Defying Luck

Chapter 21: A Day Of Leisure

"Yaahoo!!!!"

Psakh…

The sound of water splashing echoed as the sexy silhouette of the orange-haired young woman in her white, thread-like bikini swam elegantly inside the glass-like pool.

Brushing her hair back, her wet face glowed with glee as she shouted an invitation toward the boy lounging comfortably on the massage chair beside her, enjoying a pleasant experience.

"Xun-chan, come and join me! The water is so comfortable..."

'This wild cat certainly has her ways of seducing me, but I'm not budging!'

Xun muttered internally as he comfortably lay there, ignoring her advances.

Nami pouted in dissatisfaction and resumed her swimming activities.

Meanwhile, Kaya and the butler Merry were busy receiving and digesting knowledge that suited them, while Zoro was in the training facility, honing his body control and swordsmanship. This left Nami and Xun alone to enjoy the luxurious facilities.

Xun knew that Kaya's addition had made Nami more alert and provocative than before, which only fueled his enjoyment in ignoring her advances.

The flustered Nami was just too cute…

He had to admit, Usopp played his role perfectly in turning the situation into exactly what he envisioned. While luck played a big part, Xun could feel that as his body, mind, and spirit grew stronger, he could somehow envision the future and multiple possibilities.

Before, although he was super smart and his brain could be compared to a computer, its functions were mostly limited to analyzing, learning, and deducing. He had zero knowledge about strategy or manipulating people like pawns. However, the fact that his brain now worked like a simulator capable of predicting countless possible futures was a fresh and exhilarating experience.

This was one of the reasons he decided to test this ability when Kuro abducted Usopp.

With a vast number of possible futures at his disposal, combined with the good fortune to make his preferred outcomes inevitable, Xun was, for a time, reveling in the feeling of being like one of those big masterminds working behind the scenes.

The sensation of using the world as a chessboard and maneuvering everyone according to his own intentions was immensely satisfying. The only drawback was his lack of knowledge about the map of this world and other miscellaneous information, such as the territories of various factions. Otherwise, his mind would function like the simulator plug-in that was quite a popular theme a few years ago.

As he indulged in the massage experience, the phantom of the cute Merry appeared in front of him.

"Master, there's a News Bird approaching us. Are you interested in buying a newspaper?"

Xun snorted in comfort as he lazily shouted, "Nami, can you please take a trip and get us a newspaper? I can't currently leave my spot..."

Nami jumped out of the pool, glaring at him in anger.

"I'm also enjoying my free time!"

Xun pleaded cutely, "Please, Nami-chwan… I'd really appreciate it…"

Nami's face turned red as she found this cute tone hard to resist.

"Hmph!! I'll go, but just this once!!!"

"Yes, yes…"

Harumphing, she left the pool space, utilizing a very useful feature: in this space, one could teleport anywhere with just a thought.

Watching her vanishing figure, Xun chuckled.

"As expected. Shura fields are much more interesting than harmonious harems… or maybe I'm just the type who enjoys the 'play'…"

Merry pouted.

"Master, you're so mean! Nami-sama is clearly in love with you. Why are you playing with her feelings?"

Xun snorted.

"What do you know? If I accept Nami's feelings, there are only two outcomes. The first is being assimilated by luck and becoming a harmonious member of a harem, just like in my past world. They were all yes-women, never showing a shred of jealousy or alertness toward one another. It was too idealistic, and I could barely accept it because that world was an (H) Dimension."

Merry tilted her head. She didn't fully understand the world her master was referring to, but she grasped the meaning.

"What about the second outcome?"

Xun's expression turned disgusted.

"Drama. I hate the idea that if I pursue another woman, Nami would start some dramatic ordeal—her feelings hurt, misunderstandings piling up, and years of abuse before we finally reconcile. So disgusting…"

Merry stared at her master in a daze.

"So, Master wants a harem, but not a harmonious one? You want women fighting over you without any drama?"

Xun nodded in appreciation.

"As expected of Merry—so cute and smart. She can understand her master's thoughts with just a few hints."

Merry blushed, her cheeks turning red.

"Pervert Master!!!"

With a puff, her illusory form vanished as she ran away in embarrassment.

Xun tsked and continued enjoying his massage.

"Tsk, what are you even shying away from? Even for me, I'd never attack a ship…"

In another flash, Nami reappeared. Her face showed surprise and shock.

"Xun!!! Big trouble!!!"

Xun looked at her in a daze, noticing the newspapers in her hands.

"What happened? Did Buggy find the One Piece or something?"

Nami was speechless, staring at him with a serious expression.

"The newspaper is talking about you! It seems that whatever you did yesterday affected the whole world. Everyone was brought to their knees, and now you've gained a bunch of believers. Churches are being built to worship you!"

Xun looked mildly surprised—not shocked, but intrigued. He had predicted such an event, which was why he kept nerfing his power by dividing it into different parts. Still, he hadn't expected his power to remain so overwhelming even after so many limitations.

He sighed in relief. "Thank goodness they only kneeled…"

Nami didn't argue—she felt the same way. She added in a perplexed tone, "It says in the newspaper that Marine Hero Garp is coming to East Blue to investigate. I didn't expect the Marines to act so fast… they actually managed to pinpoint our location in such a short time."

Xun seemed to understand her thoughts.

"That's because their own safety is involved…"

Nami stared at him in a daze.

Xun explained slowly, "The reason your village was neglected isn't that the Marines were afraid of a mere fish-man. Arlong is just an ant in their eyes. Even if he destroyed more villages like yours, they wouldn't care much because the 'damage' would be minimal. However, if a 'power' like yesterday's were to act, the 'damage' could be catastrophic. That's why they sent Garp, a Hero. Still, I doubt he'll find anything."

Nami shook her head, looking at Xun strangely.

Xun tilted his head in wonder. "What's wrong?"

Nami took a deep breath and relayed what was written in the newspaper with a begrudging tone.

"Your voice seems to have been heard. I thought only we could hear your quote about equality, but it turns out the whole sea heard your voice. They even described it in detail: magnetic, sexy, beautiful—like the sound of nature, blah blah…"

Xun was surprised again.

"Really? It seems the sea will soon descend into chaos. Soon, people will start imitating my voice to get things done…"

His mind filled with all kinds of futures—fake gods appearing in swarms, each claiming to be divine. Well, that would only happen if he didn't step up to claim his status as god, which was impossible for him to even consider. The thought was too shameful.

Nami's mouth hung open. She, too, had considered such a possibility.

Xun relaxed further into his chair.

"Anyway, don't worry about it. Merry, change our course. We're no longer heading to Baratie. Move toward the Conomi Islands."

Merry's voice echoed in the pool space.

"Roger!!!"

Nami's face turned pale.

Xun had already seen through multiple futures, and in many of them, Arlong had done exactly what she dreaded. The East Blue was about to descend into chaos, and Arlong would not be spared if he remained here.
