One Piece: Heaven-Defying Luck

Chapter 19: All Are Equal In The Presence Of God

At the back of the mansion, Xun, Kaya, and Nami walked down the hill toward Merry's workshop, which was situated beside a small port. Their positions made it all quite apparent.

Xun seemed to remember something, prompting him to ask Nami with curiosity.

"What happened to Kuro? I saw you took him away. Did you plan to hand him over to the navy and claim his bounty?"

Kaya looked at Nami in surprise. Her previous hostility lessened as she tried hard to form a friendly smile toward her. Despite her best efforts, it was clear she was still struggling.

Nami observed Kaya's actions with helplessness, then turned to glare at Xun.

"That bastard is so poor. I interrogated him, and he only had ten million beri. I already handed him over to Zoro and asked him to end his life. As for the bounty, just forget it. If we hand him to the marines, Morgans' military position might be revoked, and honestly, I don't trust others. At least Morgans has been 'reformed' under your meticulous guidance. Anyone else might be worse than him…"

Kaya looked at Nami with gratitude, but her arms and chest, which were wrapped tightly around Xun's arm, only tightened further, much to Nami's annoyance.

Xun replied casually. In truth, he never cared about Kuro from the start; he merely wanted to lighten the mood for both Nami and Kaya.

"Whatever you want… We're already here. Look at that—what a beautiful ship…"

Nami and Kaya turned their gazes toward the Going Merry, which was docked at the small port, their eyes shining with delight.

Nami leapt forward, inspecting the ship from all angles as she expressed her admiration.

"It's so cute… I like it very much."

Kaya's eyes sparkled with light as she praised her butler's craftsmanship.

"As expected of Merry-san. The ship he always talked about and dreamed of building has truly lived up to all expectations…"

Not far away, Zoro, who just happened to be passing by—definitely by chance—also looked at the ship with interest.

"What a great ship…"

Onboard, Merry noticed the approaching guests. His eyes filled with pride and joy, and tears slid down his face as he savored the moment of his dream being fulfilled. He was glad his work was so widely admired.

Xun could feel the surge of luck value increase as he stood in the presence of the legendary ship.

"And yet… a sheep, huh?"

Xun muttered as he recalled his past life, where mythology had always intrigued him. One of the gods that captured his interest was the Sun God—or whatever name he was known by in various mythologies worldwide—because this god always seemed the most mysterious.

This deity was known by many names, such as the Horned One, Sheep Lord, Devil, Satan, Lucifer, and Sun God. What made him so enigmatic was the consistency of his depiction across all corners of the earth. More fascinating was how the god and his worshippers would disappear, only to reappear in another form or religion. Yet one thing always remained: the symbols of horns, sheep, and sacrifices.

It reached a point where some believed the Sun God was actually Satan—the devil attempting to corrupt and erode the true god's authority.

Seeing the sheep figurehead on the Merry and knowing the later revelation of the Sun God, Xun couldn't help but marvel at Oda's foresight—or perhaps it was simply one of those eerie coincidences.

Xun snapped out of his thoughts and called down to the butler.

"Okay, Merry, can you come down? I'm about to do something very interesting, and I'm afraid you might be affected badly if you stay aboard."

Butler Merry, along with the others, looked at Xun in surprise. Obediently, Merry followed his instructions and stepped off the boat.

Nami and Zoro exchanged solemn glances, knowing their captain was about to pull off something mind-blowing yet again.

For Xun, the Going Merry was a shabby little ship. As someone who had lived in a modern era filled with luxurious superyachts, complete with the amenities of 10-star hotels (a bit of an exaggeration, considering 5-star is the highest officially recognized rating), this ship felt laughable. From his advanced perspective and shipbuilding knowledge, even by the standards of this world, Going Merry was a failure. The only remarkable thing about it was the butler's sheer dedication, which had given birth to a spirit seed within the ship.

As for the claim that the spirit seed emerged because the Straw Hats loved the ship? Pure nonsense, Xun thought. After all, Luffy was the one who caused the most damage to the ship throughout their journey. That dramatic episode of him crying as if he cared? It only made Xun feel disgusted.

Today, Xun found himself unusually emotional, his mind brimming with thoughts. After taking a deep breath, he turned to face the ship. Under the curious gazes of the others, his right hand began to glow, radiating a platinum-gold light.

The moment that light appeared, everyone—Nami, Zoro, Kaya, and the butler—felt an overwhelming and terrifying presence. It was as though they were ants standing before a towering mountain. Their bodies dropped to the ground in involuntary prostration, as if they were in the presence of a god.

Even Zoro, with his iron will, couldn't resist. He collapsed to the ground, his face contorted in terror. For him, the experience was excruciating because of his unyielding nature. The others, who were less stubborn, fared slightly better.

That light wasn't just ordinary—it was a manifestation of the Authority of Omnipotence from this world.

Though Xun had divided the power to an infinitesimal fraction, even less than 0.1%, he could still feel its terrifying magnitude. He knew that, if he desired, he could effortlessly fling the planet out of its orbit—or even out of the galaxy. Creating life, planets, or stars would be child's play.

"What a terrifying power!" Xun exclaimed, his voice tinged with awe.

Anyone less determined would have succumbed to this intoxicating power and unleashed chaos. But Xun, having already explored the full extent of this ability in his dreamscape, was able to maintain his self-control.

What Xun didn't know, however, was that the ripple effects of his actions had spread across the entire world. His guess about the power's reach was correct—just this tiny fraction of omnipotence had brought the entire world to its knees.

From East Blue to West Blue, North Blue to South Blue, the Grand Line, Mariejois, Navy Headquarters, the Yonko, and the Shichibukai—no one was spared.

In Mariejois, the Five Elders knelt in fear, their pale faces etched with terror. No matter how hard they tried to resist, they felt like specks of dust before the vastness of the universe. If they had realized their master, Im, was also kneeling, their minds might have shattered entirely.

The so-called Celestial Dragons, who prided themselves on being "gods," felt true divine might for the first time in their lives.

At Navy Headquarters, Akainu's magma body melted into bubbling liquid, Aokiji shattered into icy fragments, and Kizaru's form dispersed into flickering motes of light. Garp, Sengoku, and Tsuru were also forced to the ground, exchanging helpless looks. For veterans like them, the instinctive fear embedded in their very genes was impossible to suppress. Tears even streamed from Tsuru's eyes.

Across the world, from the Yonko to the Shichibukai, a single thought echoed in everyone's mind:

"Whether you are king or pariah, all are equal in the presence of God."

Meanwhile, Xun marveled at the power in his hands, unaware that his actions had thrown the world into chaos. He could sense his luck burst value surging like never before.

It wasn't a wrong decision that he refrained from entering his full form, his cautious nature preventing him from going too far.

Shaking himself free from his thoughts, Xun approached the Going Merry and placed his glowing hand on its surface.

In that instant, the Going Merry underwent a transformation. While its outward appearance remained unchanged, everything inside became something entirely new.

The cramped, shabby rooms, basic bathroom, and kitchen vanished. In their place was a sprawling, luxurious space thousands of times larger than before. The interior now resembled a 10-star superhotel, complete with countless recreation and entertainment facilities, an infinite resource warehouse, and enough accommodations to house hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people.

The ship's materials were also altered. What was once ordinary wood and nails now became a malleable, indestructible metal capable of withstanding nuclear-level attacks and adapting to any environment. The spirit seed within the ship evolved into an AI-like butler, responsible for monitoring and maintaining everything on board.

Such a feat was trivial for the power of omnipotence, where a single thought could create a world.

Finally, Xun deactivated his God's Hand, and around the world, the forced prostration ceased. Worshippers and onlookers alike heaved sighs of relief.

Nami gasped for breath, her voice trembling as she asked, "What was that just now?"

A bloodied Zoro stood with great effort, his eyes blazing with anger—not at Xun, but at his own weakness. Across the world, countless top-level powers shared Zoro's emotions: a mix of fear and burning frustration at their helplessness.

Kaya and the butler stared at Xun with awe, as if gazing upon a divine being. Kaya, in particular, was enraptured. Far from feeling fear, she felt a strange, intimate warmth, as if being gently caressed by her lover.

Nami, too, couldn't stay angry for long—her closeness to Xun dulled the fear. Zoro, however, had clearly been taught a harsh lesson, though it was nothing compared to what the rest of the world had endured.
