Chapter 119: Chapter 119:From Shadows of the Past to the Dawn of Justice

In the meantime

On the warship, Law sat by the railing, gazing up at the enormous roots of the Yarukiman Mangrove, his thoughts drifting.

It had been three months—or rather, four months since then.

Accepting Rorschach's invitation and transitioning from being a pirate to becoming a just navy officer felt like living in a dream.

Sometimes, Law found it all somewhat unreal.

First of all, his perception of the navy underwent a significant change.

Due to his harsh childhood experiences, Law had harbored a strong aversion, even hatred, toward the navy and the World Government backing it from an early age.

His homeland, the Kingdom of Flevance, was renowned worldwide for its rich deposits of Amber Lead.

Amber Lead was a special metal used to craft superior weapons, laboratory equipment, and high-end luxury items.

Its immense value attracted the greed of not only the Kingdom of Flevance itself but also neighboring nations and the World Government.

The royal family of Flevance spared no effort in extracting Amber Lead, which led to countless citizens suffering from the toxic properties of the metal.

This incurable poison was known as Amber Lead Disease.

Those afflicted would become increasingly frail and die within a few years, with their skin developing prominent white patches.

For this reason, the Kingdom of Flevance was once called the "White Town" by the world.

When the kingdom's nobility had earned enough wealth, they chose to abandon their ailing nation and fled to other countries.

The neighboring nations, having profited from Amber Lead, seized the opportunity to invade Flevance, unleashing slaughter and pillaging.

The entire kingdom was plunged into turmoil.

No one came to save them.

Not only did the World Government ignore the plight of this member nation, but it also sent the navy to blockade the country, preventing those infected with Amber Lead Disease from leaving.

They could only wait for death in that hopeless white land.

It was in that despair that Law lost everything he held most dear.

His parents and his younger sister.

Because of this, Law never once considered joining the so-called righteous navy.

Even though he had known for a long time that Rosinante was a naval undercover agent.

However, it was during the incident in the Kingdom of Prinns that Law first witnessed bravery within the navy—individuals who feared neither death nor danger and upheld true justice.

Rorschach, Drake, Peacock, and the other officers.

Even after only brief contact and cooperation, their determination moved Law deeply.

Especially that mischievous silver-haired boy.

Perhaps it was because they shared similarly harsh childhoods.

Or maybe that short battle fought side by side led Law, almost against his own logic, to accept the invitation and join the navy—a choice he had never considered.

This decision evolved from initial hesitation to regret along the way and then gradually settled after three months of training at headquarters.

The regret stemmed from Law feeling that he had acted impulsively.

His primary goal was to seek vengeance on Doflamingo, who had killed Rosinante.

And the Shichibukai were allied with the World Government.

As a member of the navy, he would not have the opportunity to openly seek revenge on Doflamingo.

This hesitation only began to dissipate when Law met Sengoku at Marineford.

Sengoku, who felt greater sorrow over the fate of his adopted son Rosinante, shared that the Shichibukai, despite being allies of the World Government, were bound by a relationship of mutual convenience with no real stability.

The composition of the Shichibukai could change, and the same individuals would not always hold those titles.

In other words, if Doflamingo were to lose his value to the World Government, his title as a Shichibukai could be stripped.

Although the navy could not directly target the Shichibukai,

the SWORD Squad could.

The SWORD Squad was an auxiliary navy force, essentially temporary agents.

In the future, as long as Law's strength is sufficient, he can use his Blade Squad status as cover to go after Doflamingo directly.

What if Doflamingo finds out?

At worst, the Navy could just fire Law.

Temporary workers, after all—fired one day, reassigned the next, continuing to work for justice. It's completely doable.

Most importantly, after just three months of elite training, Law feels his strength has grown tremendously.

Though he's still far from the monster's level, he has certainly transformed compared to his weak self from three months ago.

Suddenly.

While deep in thought, Law frowned, grabbing his weapon from beside him and looking warily at the dark sea to the left of the warship.

His Observation Haki wasn't very strong, having only recently awakened.

But he could still sense a strong presence rapidly approaching from beneath the nearby sea.

"Is it a Sea King?"

Frowning, Law walked over to the railing, carefully scanning the area.

At that moment, the dark sea suddenly exploded, sending water flying as a massive figure shot up from below, grabbing onto a root of the red tree above the water for leverage and leaping toward the warship.

"Hahaha! So it's a warship!"

Palmer grinned, his booming voice filling the air.

"It may be a bit small, but it's fine for just one person. Kid! Get lost! I don't want to kill a Navy soldier. This warship is mine now!"

"A giant?"

Law frowned, watching the ten-meter-tall giant soaring toward him, surprised by the giant's agility.

For giants, such speed was typically a weakness.

Marineford had several giant vice admirals with immense strength.

Their physiques were far superior to those of the seasoned vice admirals, but they could never master techniques like "Soru" or "Moon Walk."

Law had never seen a giant as agile as this one before.

"ROOM!"

Just as Palmer was about to land on the warship, Law spread his right hand open, creating a spherical space that expanded over a hundred meters.

He extended a finger and made a pulling motion toward Palmer in midair.

"Tact!"

"Whoosh!"

Palmer's massive body instantly vanished from above.

When he landed with a heavy thud, he found himself on the ground in Sabaody, surrounded by a dozen stunned slave-capturing thugs who hadn't yet registered his sudden appearance.

"Whoosh."

With another soft sound, Law, holding his Kikoku sword, also appeared on the ground, staring coldly.

Seeing Law suddenly appear, Palmer felt a pang of anxiety.

"This small Navy soldier is a Devil Fruit user? His powers are strange…"

Law drew his Kikoku, and with a swift step, his figure disappeared from Palmer's sight.

"Soru! Injection Shot!"
