Chapter 9: Get Away!
The voice of a soldier came through. One Petty Officer Greav. He commanded with a hand for the soldiers to lower they weapons And they did so immediately
"If I am to cut to the chase." He said sheathing his sword. Leroy staring him down with a slight grin as he continued "I must give thanks. I don't know who you are or why. But I know you're a pirate. And yet you stepped in and helped. For that we must thank you."
"Why thank me..If you're gonna say you were planning this. You're shit out of luck. Since people are dead." He spoke bluntly
"You're right. We all lacked the courage to do something." He lowered his head.
He lowered his head for a moment. Before looking back up
"Unfortunately...You won't be able to be rewarded properly for this, since you..." He gestured to the wounded and injured marines that laid across the field
"We'll have to call this a pirate attack. The marines wouldn't care what he was doing here as long as he got results. But if he failed publicly? And at the hands of a Pirate. He'll be arrested and charged. I'm sorry."
His grin widened as he responded to Greav. "I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Just make sure they sell those oysters again, you hear?"
He smiled and let out a humorous scoff. "Alright."
Suddenly one of the Marines was hit in the face! A light tap that sent him lurching forward in pain.
And with that, Leroy was off running a smile on his face as he waved "FALCON D. LEROYS MY NAME! AND I'M THE MAN WHOSE GONNA BECOME KING OF THE PIRATES!"
Turning back he leapt into the air! And slung his hand out! Laughing as he swung through the town using his arms like ropes! Laughing all the way!
"AH-HAHAHAHAHA!"
He suddenly came to a stop in front of a house, opening a door, and grabbing a bag before sprinting down the street to where kirk would have been!
"Quick! Onto that Ship! Hahahahaha!" He said to the fishman wherever he may have been, extending his rubbery arm, and grabbing hold of his and pulling him towards him!

Kirk had been very successful in helping the refugees out. As soon as the marines from the docks hurried To figure out whatever the hell was happening at the base, it was a breeze.
It was nearly a daze for a while, barking out some orders to help get all of the stuff that used to be on the ships back onto them, sorting everything out to make sure everyone was ok and all of the supplies were ok.
It wasn't long till the first boom of the hammer struck the ground, causing a bit of fear and panic among the civilians along the dock. Kirk's head shot up, a deeply worried look crossing his face for a moment. He didn't start moving again until yet another boom echoed out. He swore he could've felt the vibrations from the destructive hits in the ground below him.
So Leroy was doing good, it seemed... or he at least hoped. Multiple hits to the ground either meant that the pirate was being turned into an absolute paste or whoever had that hammer was missing.
Kirk kept locked in his mind the possibility that Leroy was fine and went to calming the refugees, quickly telling them to board their ships in case Marines started coming for them again. Even with this deadly storm, being locked up and punished was worse than having to fight against despicable waves in the Fishman's opinion.
...The ships were nearly full by the time the tower crumbled.
Even through the rain, anyone could see the debris that flushed up into the air, dust and dirt exploding into the sky before starting to settle.
Kirk stared in horror and disbelief. Who the hell could take down an entire building like that? Was it Iron Boot? Was it Leroy? No... No normal human could've had that much amazing strength, right? What had happened?
He was mortified. Leroy had certainly lost, hadn't he? Even in the slightest chance he had one of those devil fruits, could he truly do something like that?
This time, he couldn't calm the civilians, though when snapping out of his utter shock, did he try. Kirk took some deep breaths, keeping an eye on all the ways someone could get to the docks. If he saw Marines rushing down to them, he would send the people off and find a place to hide underwater, maybe even fight some people off if he had to. He desperately hoped it wouldn't come to that.
Just as his worry was starting to set in and nearly freak himself out, he saw a blur shooting through the sky toward the docks.
Kirk stepped back, alarmed and ready to flee...
...but instantly calmed the moment he saw a flash of a red sash.
....Aaaaand then his alarm shot back into him again. Kirk was about to start grinning with relief that this crazy bastard actually did whatever the hell he did up there behind those doors, but the horrors of how he was swinging from building to building with his arms stretched out like... rubber took over. He watched him disappear by one of the houses before sighing exasperatedly.
Yeah, the devil fruit powers were confirmed.
Kirk was doing some double-checking before he heard the clapping of sandals against the pavement and looked right on over, spotting who he would know he would've seen.
the Fishman raised his hand to wave at the other, starting to smile-
-before a hand suddenly fired right towards him and grabbed onto his shirt.
Kirk barely processed what had happened, blinking blankly a few times, before he was swung through the air and tugged right onto that tiny ship, forcing a yell of surprise from him.
"Leroy?! What the-" He was suddenly cut off by Leroy's almost deranged laughter. It felt like a whole ass rollercoaster ride with his emotions. Next emotions? Some more worry! And a lot of concern!
And a big heap of fear!
