ONE PIECE: Dawn of a New Era

Chapter 3: Kamiko Kirk

If that guy had this whole island on lockdown as Kirk thought... wouldn't that mean there had to be a bit of moo-lah here?

He hoped the grin on his face was hidden by his dripping hair falling into his face; he had bent down and was lifting a crate of food, his vision getting obscured for a moment. While this was a horrible idea... Kirk knew he may be able to pull off a tiny heist.

Out of the corner of his eye, pretending to collect some things together into his basket, he noticed a shiny set of keys on one of the marine's belt loops. While it would be way scarier 'accidentally' bumbling into someone that looked a rank or two higher than the average grunt, he needed those keys.

With his crate, keeping his hair messily in front of his face, Kirk started to stumble his way onto the deck. He forced one foot in front of the other quickly, causing himself to trip and fall right into the side of the marine he had been eyeing. He clutched onto the jacket of the man, letting out a small shocked yelp... before pulling off some amazing acting (in his opinion), looking up at the marine in horror.

The man growled at him and shoved him off quickly, snapping at Kirk. "What the hell do ya think ya are doin' boy?! Get ya act together and keep goin'!"

Kirk flinched away, nodding quickly over and over while mumbling random things while adding a bunch of "yes sir's" into the mix. He stayed crouched to the ground, picking up the crate again and starting to clean up the things he had split. He waited until the marine stopped glaring down at him and started to walk over toward another situation further along the dock before glancing around quickly and diving down into the water.

He hoped it had been sly enough with him so low on the deck for no one to notice.

Of course, he already stood out with his weird hair and skin, but the darkness of the angry storm above should've helped. The fact he rolled down his sleeves and closed up his shirt before boarding the ship in the first place to cover up his fins helped a lot too.

Another thing he hoped was that his button-up shirt being drenched like this didn't show off his bright red gills or fins.

Kirk looked down at the set of keys in his hands underneath the surface of the water, a toothy grin popping up on his face for a moment, before he quickly swam against the legs of the dock. The water was too crazy around here, he was going to have to use the docks to move around.

Pulling himself along, Kirk kept an eye on the water above, squinting hard as some of the bright lights shone down across the surface before passing by. While navigating to the best of his abilities, he spotted a little bit of... what was that, driftwood? A raft? Underneath the docks? Weird... but he would keep it in mind just in case.

The Fishman poked his head up above the water for a moment, scanning for a good spot to hide on the mainland since it would be absolute torture fighting these currents all night until the storm passed. Fortunately for him, he spotted a dark, shadowy area that the lights didn't seem to hit nor did the area seem to be of any interest to the guards.

Perfect!

Kirk waited an unbearably long moment, keys still clutched in his hand as he came up toward the shore, before taking the risk and hurried over towards the darkness. He turned around and started to back into the shadows, his sharp ears twitching up as he listened for anyone following after him.

Once he determined he was safe... he let out a soft chuckle and ran a hand through his hair, slicking it back and clearing up his face. He took his time now to look through the set of keys he had, trying to think of what they may go to just based on what they looked like. Kirk just had to hope he got lucky and grabbed a good set that could get him anywhere.

Leroy had found a small flower bed near one of the houses. Filled with dead flowers. While he had no idea this was the case, they were dead due to the owner being unable take care of them due to the constant patrols and being forced inside

Taking loose vines and roots. He covered his large bag with the dead plants, hoping that due to the shadow is caused by the overcast storm that it wouldn't be spotted until he came back. He made sure to really dig it into the ground as well.

As he did this, he slipped the sash from his head and wrapped it around his waist. Tucking the fabric into place as his raven hair fell into his eyes. He gave his neck a quick flick back to relieve his view from the hair

But as he turned back around the corner, he saw someone dipping into the shadows where he was

Instinctively he clenched his fist, but then loosened. His intuition taking over

'Why would a marine be trying to hide in the shadows?' He thought to himself. His face fluctuating as he did so.

"So, what's the plan with the keys? Let out the Refugees? Oh! Steal the treasure from these boot licking marines and escape! Maybe cause a little trouble~" He spoke as he was suddenly over the mans shoulder.

His voice had a trail of almost a coo, one of sarcasm but one that was sounded surprisingly serious. Leroy had quickly made the steps over to kirk in mere moments. Looked over the shoulder of the Fishmen and at the keys.

He then wrapped his hand around the Fishmen mouth as he attempted to let out a surprised Yelp. He then, with surprising amount of ease, but a gentleness that was surprising, pushed him behind him so that he was behind

His hands were rough, yet had this almost softness feeling too them. Like with just enough force, the tension of his skin would give way to pliability, like hardened clay, or malleable rubber. Like the way an unflexed muscle feels.

He then turned around giving kirk, finally, a good look at his face. A devious, and mischievous smile was spread and etched deep into his face as he brought up a finger

"Shhhhhhh~"
