One Piece: Check-in System

Chapter 19: The Battle Between Rayleigh and Zephyr

As Reno and his crew hurried back, Rayleigh and the Roger Pirates' senior officers officially clashed with the Marine main forces.

Seeing the approaching Marine warships, Rayleigh turned to his comrades and instructed, "We'll fight aboard the Marine warships. Once our ship returns, we retreat to it immediately. Understood?"

"Understood, Vice-Captain!" the others replied.

"Let's go!" Rayleigh commanded.

Whoosh… whoosh… whoosh…

At his word, the pirates leaped into the air from their small boat, heading straight for the Marines' warship.

[On the Marines' Warship]

Fleet Admiral Sengoku, observing Rayleigh and his crew stationed in their path, immediately understood their intentions. However, the Marines had already achieved their primary objective, so they weren't in a rush to pursue the ordinary crewmembers.

Now seeing Rayleigh and the others advancing toward them, Sengoku shouted to his subordinates, "Prepare for battle!"

Barely had Sengoku finished speaking when Rayleigh appeared in the sky above the ship, calling out to him, "Sengoku, care to spar with me?"

Looking at the smug Rayleigh hovering above, Sengoku's forehead was soon covered in metaphorical black lines. To think Rayleigh would dare place himself above them so blatantly—it was clear he wasn't taking the Marines seriously.

"Let me be your opponent!"

Zephyr, whose fiery temper couldn't tolerate such provocation, roared as he launched himself skyward.

Whoosh!

Zephyr's speed was so astonishing that he seemed to vanish, appearing behind Rayleigh in an instant. Both his fists, now coated in Armament Haki and gleaming black, struck at Rayleigh like a storm.

Sensing the incoming attack, Rayleigh reacted instinctively, turning and swinging his sword upward to meet Zephyr's blow.

Clang—Boom!

Their clash sent them both hurtling back several meters before regaining their footing.

Thud… thud… thud…

Zephyr used Moonwalk (Geppo) to steady himself midair, while Rayleigh employed a similar technique, comparable to Moonwalk, to stay aloft.

Barely had they stabilized before they charged at each other again, moving so fast that their figures became blurs.

Bang bang… clang clang… clang clang!

Fists met swords in rapid succession, each clash echoing like the sound of blades colliding.

The two fought in silence, completely focused on their duel. Each clash pushed them apart, only for them to charge again, as though they were tireless war machines.

Clang! Clang! Bang! Bang!

Rayleigh's mastery as a renowned swordsman became evident, his swordsmanship forming an impenetrable wall of blades—a whirlwind of slashes surrounding him.

Not to be outdone, Zephyr unleashed a flurry of fist shadows in front of him. No matter how swift Rayleigh's strikes were, they couldn't penetrate his wall of punches.

The battle between them was evenly matched, their sword strikes and fist shadows filling the area with destructive force.

As Rayleigh and Zephyr's battle reached a fever pitch in midair, the Marine soldiers and the Roger Pirates' senior officers also found their respective opponents, engaging in fierce combat.

On the flagship, only Sengoku remained. The other Marine officers had joined the battle, even Vice Admiral Tsuru.

Among the Roger Pirates, the only one yet to act was Jabba, Rayleigh's equal in strength. Everyone else had boarded the Marines' warships and was fighting the marines.

Thud!

Jabba, noticing that all the Marines' top fighters were occupied and that Sengoku was the only one left on the flagship, leaped aboard, intending to challenge the Fleet Admiral.

Landing on the deck, Jabba looked at Sengoku with fervent excitement and declared, "Fleet Admiral Sengoku, it's just the two of us now. Let me be your opponent today!"

The Roger Pirates were all battle enthusiasts, and Jabba was no exception. Facing strong opponents filled him with thrill, especially someone of Sengoku's caliber. To not fight would feel like a wasted opportunity.

Sengoku, glaring at the arrogant Jabba who had jumped onto his ship uninvited, shouted furiously, "Don't get too cocky, you damned pirate!"

As he spoke, Sengoku activated his Devil Fruit powers. His body began to glow with golden light, growing larger and larger until he transformed into his massive, golden Buddha form—a result of his Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit, the Human-Human Fruit: Model Daibutsu.

This ability allowed Sengoku to take on the form of a giant golden Buddha and unleash devastating shockwave attacks.

Seeing Sengoku transform into his Buddha form, Jabba realized the Fleet Admiral was getting serious. Gripping his axes tightly, he shouted with excitement, "Buddha Sengoku! Show me the power of a Mythical Zoan user!"

Whoosh!

In a flash, Jabba charged forward, moving like a bolt of lightning. A blur of motion, he appeared above Sengoku, bringing his twin axes down in a devastating strike.

Sengoku, having already detected Jabba's movements with Observation Haki, raised a hand glowing with golden energy to meet the attack. With a palm strike akin to Buddha's might, he countered the descending axes.

Boom—rumble!!

Crack—crack!

Their collision caused a massive shockwave, sending golden ripples of energy radiating outward from their clash. The ship's deck beneath them cracked like a spiderweb, a testament to the sheer power of their attacks.

Bang!

Jabba executed a backward somersault, planting a solid kick on Sengoku's stomach. Using the recoil, he flipped further back and landed steadily on the ship's railing.

Despite taking the kick, Sengoku's massive Buddha form remained unshaken, not even budging an inch. He stood there like an immovable mountain.

Glaring at Jabba perched on the railing, Sengoku smirked mockingly and said, "Was that supposed to tickle me?"

Jabba's expression darkened. His kick had used a third of his strength—enough to severely injure a vice admiral—yet Sengoku emerged unscathed.

"Truly worthy of being a Mythical Zoan user," Jabba muttered, his face growing serious. Retorting, he shouted, "Buddha Sengoku, your reputation is well-earned. But just standing there and taking hits won't win you this fight!"

The two exchanged jabs—one mocking the other for failing to inflict damage, the other taunting him for being a mere punching bag. It was almost comical.
