Chapter 141: A Divine Misunderstanding
Dracula D. Alucard.
Kaido.
Charlotte Linlin.
These three are touted as the ones destined to inherit the mantle of the great pirates after the Pirate King's death, and they are currently collectively known as "The Three Monsters."
Unlike Kaido and Big Mom, who command vast forces, Alucard, as a lone wolf, holds a status equal to theirs. The primary reason is that he has twice fought the era's top pirates to a draw and remained undefeated.
Even Kaido, after one clash, only stopped fighting Whitebeard because he had been knocked into the sea and couldn't be killed; in the end, Kaido still lost, he just couldn't be killed.
If the three were to fight individually, the victor would most likely be Alucard, a common belief. However, there's also the notion that in a clash among the Three Monsters, Alucard would be the first to fall.
Such is the nature of a lone wolf.
That's why the bounty of Patrick Redfield, the "Red Count," whose strength rivals Whitebeard, Roger, and Golden Lion Shiki, falls far behind the Three Monsters; it's because he lacks powerful subordinates and extensive influence.
With the announcement of the Pirate King's execution, two significant events were on the horizon.
The first, naturally, was the death of the Pirate King, Gold Roger. The second was the tea party, a gathering of the Three Monsters, set to take place in Cheese Town, Big Mom's territory.
Two hundred nautical miles north of Cheese Town, on one of fifteen large Marine warships, specifically, the one with a dog's head biting a bone on its bow, a Marine Seaman First Class reported to Garp, who wore a dog-head mask. "Vice Admiral Garp, according to the reconnaissance team's message from the front, one of the Three Monsters, Kaido, has entered Cheese Island! He's brought around two hundred subordinates!"
"So few people. That's typical of that Kaido brat." Garp, sitting in a deck chair, yawned.
Kaido disliked bringing subordinates unless it was for a fight, so bringing so few men was entirely expected.
Garp chewed on a senbei absentmindedly, pondering Roger's words to him in prison.
Now, only one day remained until the Pirate King's execution in Loguetown, East Blue. Garp naturally knew why Kong wouldn't let him go, but it didn't matter; he didn't have much desire to go anyway.
'Roger's son, huh...' Garp thought, popping another senbei into his mouth.
Kuzan, standing nearby, noticed and reminded him, "Garp-san, you're eating the plastic bag..."
Through a Visual Den Den Mushi projection, Garp watched the broadcast from Loguetown, East Blue. It was 9 AM; there was still some time before the Pirate King's execution began in the afternoon.
"Report!" The same Marine who had reported Kaido's arrival at Cheese Town yesterday rushed back to Garp. "Vice Admiral Garp! Alucard, one of the Three Monsters, has also arrived!"
"Mm..." Garp simply grunted in response, offering no further comment.
"Vice Admiral Garp!" The soldier urgently reminded him. Garp took a sip of water, then patted the young Marine's shoulder. "What's the rush? Our mission is to prevent them from causing trouble or spilling secrets. If they're just chatting, let them chat."
'No, these three monsters gathering, there's no way they're just chatting!' Many Marines on the ship complained inwardly.
The Pirate King's execution, and a gathering of three great pirates from the "Three Monsters"—this hardly seemed like a coincidence. Even the World Government was concerned about what they intended to do.
...
Cheese Island.
This island was entirely yellow, like cheese, as if it had been constructed from the dairy product itself.
Alucard didn't care whether the island was naturally formed or processed by Big Mom. His focus was on the gigantic pirate ships around, especially the one closest to the dock, bearing Kaido the Beast's emblem!
"Welcome, Alucard-sama." As Alucard stepped onto the island, countless beautiful women in swimsuits, maid outfits, and nurse uniforms stood on either side of the city gate, bowing respectfully. Many subtly exhaled in relief upon seeing Alucard's appearance.
'What is this...?' Alucard mused inwardly.
Inside Cheese Town, a man covered in candy, continuously licking an enormous lollipop, led a group of subordinates bearing the Big Mom Pirates' emblem.
They approached Alucard.
The man at the forefront, licking the giant lollipop, was none other than Charlotte Perospero, Charlotte Linlin's eldest son, who had delivered the invitation a week prior.
Perospero stopped before Alucard, pulling the lollipop from his mouth. He gestured with a flourish towards the at least fifty alluringly dressed and beautiful women lined up on either side of the cheesy street. "Are you satisfied with our Mom's hospitality, Alucard-sama?"
"Oh-ho... this is..." Alucard drew out his words.
"These are beauties collected over the past week from various channels across all four seas: desert beauties from the South Blue, dancers from the North Blue, geishas from the East Blue, everything you could wish for. They'll surely satisfy you," Perospero chuckled sinisterly. 'This represents the warm hospitality of the Big Mom Pirates. And since they are all virgins, I don't think even Alucard will have any complaints.'
Though Alucard wasn't entirely unfazed, he genuinely felt like laughing. That ugly man had apparently seen his dissatisfaction after his last 'snack' and probably misunderstood him as a lecher obsessed with beautiful women.
However, Alucard couldn't be bothered to explain himself; if he cared about others' opinions, he wouldn't be Alucard.
But the Big Mom Pirates' influence was indeed impressive, at least in this regard.
