Chapter 76 - Suspicion
Outside the Yali Beauty Corporation office, employees stood in astonishment, their gazes fixed on Qin Ming who was fleeing in a state of panic.
Frantic and resolute, Qin Ming hurriedly pressed the button for his private elevator, ready to dart inside as soon as the doors opened.
However, he abruptly stopped in his tracks, raising his hands and slowly backing away.
To his amazement, six armed policemen emerged from the elevator.
Confronted with this show of force, Qin Ming didn't dare to make a move.
His company's employees were equally terrified, quickly shielding themselves by clasping their hands over their heads and crouching down.
“Mr. Qin Ming, please accompany us.”
…
Qin Ming was apprehended swiftly, yet Jiang Hao remained oblivious to the rapid turn of events.
In the Heavenly Star Internet Cafe at that moment, Jiang Hao felt it was time to conclude. He wiped out his online tracks and prepared to log off.
However, the memory of the heroic rescue video resurfaced, prompting him to rapidly type on the computer.
Soon after, a satisfied smile graced his face.
“Everything's in order!”
“I'd rather keep a low profile than seek fame.”
With the rescue video deleted, Jiang Hao logged off and left the cafe. It was still early, so he headed back to school.
Upon entering the classroom, the buzz of his classmates discussing Qin Ming greeted him.
Jiang Hao pretended not to know and listened in on their conversation.
Unbeknownst to him, his recent actions had sent shockwaves through Tianhee City and beyond.
The community was filled with unease, everyone feeling vulnerable.
Jiang Hao remained unaware of the commotion he had caused.
News of Qin Ming's arrest spread rapidly online.
Jiang Hao, upon seeing this, was initially taken aback but soon a sense of relief washed over him.
“With Qin Ming's arrest and his long list of crimes, the Qin family's decline is inevitable,” he thought, no longer considering them a threat.
During a break between classes, lost in thought, Jiang Hao was nudged by his desk partner, who mentioned that someone was looking for him outside.
Stepping into the hallway, Jiang Hao was greeted by Soong Wan.
“Wan'er, it's you!”
“What can I do for you?”
Jiang Hao inquired with curiosity.
Upon hearing this, Soong Wan turned to fix her gaze on Jiang Hao, as if trying to discern something from his expression.
Jiang Hao, perplexed, touched his face and asked in bewilderment.
“What's wrong? Is there something on my face?”
Soong Wan continued to scrutinize Jiang Hao's features without averting her probing gaze and suddenly blurted out.
“Qin Ming has been arrested!”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Hao immediately understood the reason for Soong Wan's visit, and his acting skills kicked into high gear.
“I know! I just read about it online!”
“I never imagined Qin Ming could be so dangerous!”
“Thank goodness he's been apprehended, though. I doubt I could have handled his retaliation!”
Jiang Hao expressed his relief, still shaken by the thought.
Soong Wan had been closely observing Jiang Hao's eyes the whole time, yet she couldn't find the confirmation she sought in his gaze.
Her gaze still locked on his, she pressed further.
“Was it you?”
Her question caught Jiang Hao off guard.
“Huh?”
But he quickly regained his composure.
“How could that be? If I had that kind of power, why would I have let him go unchecked until now?”
Despite Jiang Hao's denial and the absence of any telltale signs in his eyes, Soong Wan's intuition screamed that Jiang Hao was somehow involved in this matter.
