Omniscience in Marvel

Chapter 170: Omniscience in Marvel 164

164

The Spear of Longinus. One of the three Divine Armament or Sacred Gears as Leucadius prefered to call them had five abilities ingrained into them.

1. Piercing Judgment. With this ability, the Spear can cut through any form of magical or physical defense, piercing barriers, armor, and shields effortlessly.

This ability channels divine energy into the spear's tip, allowing it to bypass protections, including dimensional barriers or illusions.

When used against creatures or entities of malevolent origin, the Spear's piercing force amplifies, dealing extra damage to beings of darkness or chaos.

2. Divine Empowerment. When wielded by one of divine heritage, the Spear can channel the user's divine power, amplifying their inherent abilities.

For Aethon, this would allow him to merge his own energy with the Spear's power, creating attacks of overwhelming strength. The Spear can even store a portion of his power to release it later, creating an explosive attack on command.

This also gives Aethon a healing effect if he's injured while holding the Spear, though it's limited and cannot heal severe wounds instantly.

3. Retribution Strike. This enables the Spear to absorb any damage it takes, including physical and magical attacks, and store it within itself.

This absorbed energy can then be released in a single, devastating counter-attack, effectively returning the damage with amplified force.

This ability comes with a cost, as Aethon can only use it sparingly, and releasing too much energy at once could destabilize the Spear or even backfire if not controlled.

4. Echo of Heaven. This enables the Spear to resonate with temporal energy, giving Aethon brief glimpses of possible futures or warnings in battle.

This foresight allows him to anticipate his opponent's movements, granting him enhanced reflexes and agility while wielding it.

Although not infallible, it lets him sense immediate threats, making him nearly untouchable for a short duration when fully in sync with the Spear.

5. Divine Chain Manifestation. With this, the Spear can manifest ethereal chains that bind and restrain opponents or objects.

These chains are forged from divine energy and are nearly unbreakable by conventional means, capable of binding powerful enemies or even grounding other weapons and artifacts.

They can also serve as an extension of the Spear itself, allowing Aethon to attack from a distance or control the Spear remotely. The chains are limited by Aethon's willpower, becoming weaker if he's not fully focused.

Each of these abilities would make the Spear of Longinus a truly legendary weapon in Aethon's hands, balancing offense, defense, and strategy. However, that was on the premise that he could awaken his cosmic energy.

Despite knowing the abilities of the spear in his hand and his inability to use them due to his lack of cosmic energy, Aethon was still impressed by it.

From when he could hold onto weapons, his father, Lucas and Thena his mother made sure he could wield everything that can be classified as a weapon.

It was enough for them that he had a basic mastery of them all since his two parents were weapons masters with one being able to conjure any type of weapon and the other being able to analyze and use any weapon upon touching them.

And so, As Aethon took his battle stance, the Spear of Longinus hummed in anticipation as a crimson light pulsed along its length like a heartbeat.

The two angels regarded him with impassive gazes, their weapons, the spear and shield, gleaming with divine energy.

Despite having stood guard for so many years, when Leucadius had initially created them, he had built them to be combative enough to face off against Adam if he ever returned with force.

And that was considering the fact that Adam was made to be as strong as the Eternals physically.

While the Homunculus they were both occupying was relatively strong, the space Leucadius teleported them to brought them down to Aethon's level.

The angel with the spear moved first, lunging forward in an actual blur of speed to which Aethon instinctively raised his own weapon in defense creating a shockwave that shook the air as visible sparks flew as their weapons clashed, and Aethon grinned.

"Not bad," he muttered and pivoted, using the momentum of the clash to twist his body, bringing the shaft of the Spear of Longinus around in a sweeping arc aimed at the angel's ribs.

The first angel, reacting with inhuman precision, leaned back just enough for the strike to graze past his form.

The crimson pulse along Aethon's spear flared brighter, signaling its readiness for another strike.

However, at that moment, the second angel moved, its shield raised to attack as he closed the gap while its counterpart recovered.

Aethon, already ready for another attack, had no time to breathe as the shield came crashing down, aiming to crush him with the sheer momentum behind it.

He rolled to the side, the shield missing him by inches and leaving a small crater where it struck. "What the hell? I thought we were evenly matched physically!"

[That only applies to physical strength. I didn't say anything about their artifacts. Why do you think you hold the spear? Remember what I always taught about overcoming might with skill?]

"Tsk." Hearing his father's voice in his head, Aethon clicked his tongue and sprang to his feet and spun the spear, its crimson light tracing an arc as he took another stance and made a thrust forward, aiming for the shield-bearer's exposed flank, but the angel raised its shield with uncanny speed, deflecting the attack.

The sound of their clash resonated like a bell, and Aethon was forced to step back as the first angel rejoined the fray, spear poised to strike.

"Two-on-one, huh?" Aethon muttered, smirking. "Guess Father really didn't want me slacking off."

The angels moved in concert, their synchronization flawless. The spear-wielding angel aimed high, driving its weapon toward Aethon's chest, while the shield-bearer feinted low, its free hand forming a fist to strike Aethon's knee.

Aethon ducked beneath the spear, his muscles coiling like springs as he sidestepped the shield-bearer's punch.

With a grunt, he drove his shoulder into the shield-bearer's midsection, using the leverage to spin around and bring his spear down in a diagonal slash.

The shield-bearer blocked the strike, its shield absorbing the impact with a deafening clang, but Aethon didn't stop.

He shifted his grip, spinning the spear with both hands and delivering a rapid series of thrusts that forced the shield-bearer to backpedal.

Each strike was faster than the last, pushing the limit of the angel's defenses and keeping the spear-wielding angel from re-engaging.

The shield-bearer suddenly surged forward, its shield aiming to slam into Aethon's chest, but he planted his feet and twisted his body, allowing the shield to slide past him.

Using the opening, he swung the butt of his spear into the shield-bearer's temple with a resounding crack, causing it to stagger.

The spear-wielding angel capitalized on the brief opening, closing the distance and made a flurry of precise thrusts aimed at Aethon's midsection which Aethon deflected, each strike with quick, fluid movements, his spear moving seamlessly.

Sparks flew with every clash, and the air grew heavy with the force of their blows.

Finally, Aethon parried a thrust and stepped inside the angel's reach.

With a powerful upward swing, he knocked the spear out of its hands and delivered a quick follow-up strike with the butt of the spear to his chest, sending it stumbling back.

Before he could press the advantage, the shield-bearer who had already recovered, rushed at him with its shield leading the charge.

Aethon narrowed his eyes and dropped low, sliding beneath the shield and planting his spear into the ground to vault himself up behind the angel.

With a sharp twist, he spun the Spear in a wide arc, the crimson light blazing as it collided with the shield-bearer's back, sending it crashing to the ground.

"Come on," Aethon said, breathing heavily but smiling. "You're supposed to be divine warriors, right? Don't tell me this is your best."

The spear-wielding angel picked up its weapon, its glowing eyes narrowing in determination. The shield-bearer rose to its feet, the divine energy surrounding its shield flaring brighter.

They advanced together again, their movements even more precise and aggressive.

Aethon gripped the Spear of Longinus tighter, feeling its pulse align with his own heartbeat. Despite the pressure, his grin widened. "Let's dance."

The battle raged on, each side testing the limits of the other, their blows resounding like thunder in the confined space.

Leucadius and Gaia sat in a simple pavilion while drinking a golden colored elixir as they watched Aethon battle the two guard angels.

"I don't even know what to say." Gaia said with an amused smile as she looked affectionately at the child god. "Do you have any intentions of enrolling him in the academy you established?"

"Depends, his mother can be quite protective." Leucadius said with a wry smile then looked away from the screen and at Gaia. "I also dread the possible future his existence on earth would wrought."

"As far as I am aware of, you have his existence going under a few eyes." Gaia nodded without taking her eyes off the screen. "But having him based on Earth would be more detrimental to his growth."

Then looking at Leucadius she asked. "You're aware of that, right?"

Leucadius scoffed dismissively at the question and said. "I'm God for a reason, mother."

Gaia finally tore her eyes from the screen and looked at Leucadius with an amused smile. "The Most High, right? Last I was visited The Omnipotence City, I couldn't hear the end of it. Apparently there's a struggle between Metatron and Yeshua on who would-"

"You need not continue talking about that, mother." Leucadius cut her off. "Everything works according to my will. That's all you need to know."

"Huhuhu," Gaia covered her mouth and laughed solaciously. "That confidence. As expected of my son."

"You only named me."

"That's what a parent does, isn't it?" Gaia tilted her head comically and asked.

"Anyone can do that."

"But you've been calling me mother since then and my sister, lady." Gaia said, her voice sounding amused at what he presumed to be Leucadius being shy. "You even told little Aethon that he's coming to meet his grandma."

"Enough about that." Leucadius sighed and rubbed his brows. "What do you think about him then? Would he be Divine or Cosmic?"

"What do you think?" Gaia asked back causing Leucadius to sigh louder than the previous one. "I wouldn't have come here if I knew that."

"So much for being-"

"Don't say it, Gaia. Knowing too much is a burden too heavy even for you." Leucadius cut her off before she could continue.

He knew what she wanted to say and didn't want to hear it.

So much for being your Absolute Intelligence, right?

Leucadius didn't feel his life was all that hard. He didn't have any grand quests in this World and had to take one upon himself.

He didn't have the thrilling adventurous life most would expect, but all his adventures and battles were epic, brief and predictable.

5000+ years and he had never once tasted defeat until he did at the hands of Arishem, a Celestial.

A walking body of Cosmic Energy straight from the 1st Cosmos.

Anyone would think to go on a training arc to get stronger like a shounen protagonist, seek strength in the Cosmos like some Cultivator, stack or create skills with massive damage output.

But Leucadius didn't come here for that.

While he amassed strength since it was a necessity to his true FREEDOM, he didn't see the need to rely on something external without which he could still perform intellectually.

"Just tell me." Leucadius intoned a bit sternly.

"*Sigh*, you're no fun." Gaia sighed sadly and returned her attention to the screen. "There's nothing Divine in his parents, why would you think he would awaken as a God?"

"This Universe is more messed up than you could ever imagine. Trust me on that." Was all Leucadius said.

The Marvel Universe was a Verse were two totally unrelated thing can come together to bring about a Universe ending scenario.

Like how two humans just so happens to be hit by a cosmic storm, fuck, and then give birth to a universal level baby in terms of cosmic energy.

Like…WTF

Or how a lab made human would happen to awaken cosmic energy so strong that he'd later be offered the position of the Living Fucking Tribunal

(A/N: In the case of one Adam Warlock of a Comic Universe where the High Revolutionary created him to be his own Adam similar to Leucadius', but this one, in a battle with a Thanos who had and have Mastered the Six Infinity Stones, ended up breaking the Void and finding themselves in the Oreo of Worlds. One thing led to another and the Living Tribunal died causing the One Above All to appear and offer Adam the position.)

"Tsk. Talking all mysterious like you're all that…" Gaia clicked her tongue in annoyance while giving Leucadius a sidelong glance and muttered. "In my billion years of existence, I can't say I've come across a case like yours not to talk or Aethon. You two are the first of your kinds."

"I will take that as a compliment."

"Don't let it get to your head though. I'm still superior." Gaia said with a prideful smirk while raising her nose to the sky.

This sight caused Leucadius to smile and shake his head at her. 'If only you knew.'

"The moment you broke off of your racial restraints as an Eternal into what you now term…"

"Transcendent Eternal."

"Right. That. The moment you became that, everything common sense about you went out the window." Gaia said after feeling herself. "And considering your connection to Heaven and the amount of Faith you've gathered through the years…"

"You see why I'm curious?"

"Yeah, but I think my sister would be a better judge."

"Nah. I trust your judgement."

Gaia's brow rose and hung up there for a few moments as she observed Leucadius and ruminate over his words.

"You were the one who first taught me about the different Energies and how they interact with each other." Leucadius added due to the silence. "I trust you."

Gaia's expression returned to normal but the slight tug on her lips showed that she was quite pleased. "If you put it that way then…I think I can go out of my way to give you a satisfactory answer."

...

A/N: This came in late and tomorrow's own might too. I'm going through a lot right now so I'll only be able to write when I can. I hope you all are understanding and keep up with the support.
