Hao Ren came to the living room and found Han Lingshi hosting Sypher, and asked, "Council Master, what brought you here?"

Sypher sighed and stood up from the seat as he said, "I came here because I had no other ways left."

Hao Ren sat down and gestured for the old man to sit down as well, as he asked, "What is it that you need from me?"

Sypher looked at him carefully before he said, "So, two days ago, we were approached by the city lord of the Meteor Fall City, and he wants us to make a unit of mechanized puppets that is similar to the one you made in the conference."

He looked at Xiao Mei on the side, and then said, "They want the puppet to be able to destroy the meteors that often target the city, and also to fight against assailants that come to rob the place."

Hao Ren shook his head and replied, "Do you not know this kind of an artifact is one in a million? How can I instill these puppets with a core? If they only wish to handle the meteors, I can give them ballistas that would detect the falling meteor and then shoot them with a beam of condensed spiritual energy. As for assailants, they sound like robbers and bandits, for that, Hao Yin can go and clean it up once and for all."

Sypher sensed a twitch develop at the corner of his lips and Hao Ren said, "See, Council Master, you know that the purpose I am walking the path of artifact refining is not similar to the most of the refiners out there. I create my projects because they bring me peace. I have no intent to help anyone else get an artifact similar to the ones that I have. Had you not seen Xiao Mei for inspection, I am sure that you would not be able to differentiate between her and a human."

Sypher sighed and said, "Master Ren, please don't make it difficult for me."

Hao Ren sighed and rubbed his forehead when Han Lingshi said, "Why don't you go and meet the person directly?"

The young man nodded and replied, "That seems to be the only option, but what if this guy is not reasonable?"

Han Lingshi shrugged and said, "Beat the reason into him. You have been fighting with me daily, spar with this man as well if you have to."

Hao Ren chuckled and said, "Fine, let me go and see what this person wants."

Hao Ren sent Sypher out of the living room, and came over to Han Lingshi and kissed her lips intensely. This sudden burst of love left Han Lingshi stunned, and she was caught unguarded. By the time she woke up from her daze, Hao Ren was gone and all he left was a slight sting on her lips and warmth on her butt cheeks.

Hao Ren came to the council building and many people greeted him with their heads bowed and they were all respectful to him. Hao Ren was now the biggest Artifact refiner in the city even higher than the Council Master, because of his achievement and the fact that the four refining cities in the entire Spirit Siphon Continent, have given up connections with a holy land because they tried to bully refiners, and specifically Hao Ren.

The young man walked with his hands behind his back as he moved through the stairs and came to the office of the Council Master. He was about to knock the door when someone pushed it open from the inside. Hao Ren saw a young lady standing on the other side, and he ignored her as he tilted his head and said, "Council Master, where is the client?"

Sypher peeked back at him and said, "This lady is the client."

Hao Ren turned to look back at the lady, and asked, "Are you the city lord of Meteor Fall City?"

The lady raised her brows and asked, "Do you doubt me?"

Hao Ren shook his head, and said, "Just confirming, so can we talk about your project?"

The lady nodded and turned around to enter the room again as she said, "I want fifty puppets to guard my city and they must only be answerable to me."

Hao Ren looked at her and said, "Let us put aside the fact that you may be able to afford the production cost for those puppets, the production is not easy. I spent several million spirit stones on refining one of them, and the Council Master is my witness.

Even if you pay me with the right amount of spirit stones, I cannot refine the core of the puppet anymore."

The lady turned to look at him and asked, "Why not?"

Her words were sharp and she was demanding an answer. Hao Ren narrowed his gaze and said, "I cannot tell you, also, you are a client who needs me to create something for you, I suggest that you drop the attitude before you talk to me the next time. Or you can fuck off."

If you only wish to protect your city, I can refine some guardian puppets and just like any other artifact puppet, they will listen to your command, and consume spirit stones if you wish to use them.

Another solution to your problem is a net of canons which will target the falling meteors and also give your people more time to counter the bandits. I can even send my daughter to kill them for you. What is the problem? Why are you acting so desperately?"

The lady had calmed down and she said, "I was approached by the City Lord of the surrounding cities, they said that if I can get a unit of puppet soldiers from you, they would help me create a meteor repelling array. Those swines, they have been using their force to attract the meteors to my city and have been the reason why half of my city is dead. Yet they acted so righteously, at this moment the rest of my people are being held hostage. I have no other way."

Hao Ren looked at Sypher who was equally shocked and he said, "City Lord, you don't have to worry, the puppets would take time, probably a few years, however, if you can get me a few days, I will handle this situation for you."

The lady was surprised and Hao Ren said, "Don't worry, it will be fine, you will get a few puppets that would detect and attack all and any meteors that would head your way."

Sypher looked at Hao Ren who said, "Well, I am going to be busy, collect the money, deduct the commission and send the rest to me?"

Sypher nodded and Hao Ren left the room. The lady was shocked and she didn't understand what was going on, how could Hao Ren agree to help her against her enemies, he didn't even know how many of them were there. She stood up and dashed out to chase him, but even at her full speed, she could only catch up with him when he reached the gates of his house.

Hao Ren turned around and asked, "What else do you want from me?"

The lady said, "Grandmaster Ren, I am Kalai, I wish to thank you for your help but you don't even know the details about the enemy."

Hao Ren was stunned and then he chuckled as he said, "Come inside, you can tell all that to my wife."

Kalai was stunned, but she still followed, and Hao Ren spotted Han Lingshi in the living room, she was leaning back on the couch with her eyes closed, and Hao Ren said, "You were right, we had to reason and understand what was going on."

Han Lingshi smiled and stood up while opening her eyes, and Kalai was shocked to see the beauty that Han Lingshi commanded. She may look mediocre in appearance, but it was the personality and the charm that she had which made her look above the rest. A woman feeling lesser because of another woman was a hard and real thing.

Han Lingshi invited Kalai to sit down and the latter began to exchange information. Hao Ren had already went inside the refining room, and started assembling a few puppets that he had created in the past and his speed was now good enough to create the parts needed for one master level puppet in a day.

After a couple of hours, Xiao Mei came inside the room and said, "Mistress has called for you, she wants to talk to you about something."

Hao Ren raised his brow and asked, "What is it about?"

Xiao Mei replied, "Hunting Competition."
