Chapter 305: Taking the Child Away
No sooner said than done, Lin Yi immediately took Han Xuewei to his parents' house. When they saw the children again, Han Xuewei couldn't have been happier.
"Mom and Dad, you're finally here! You haven't come to see us for ages, have you forgotten about us?"
Da Bao was the first to confront them, standing in front of his parents and then clinging to their arms, cooing.
"How could we have forgotten you? It's just that Mom and Dad have been so busy lately that we haven't had the time to come over. Now, Mom's finally on vacation and can spend a few good days with you guys, so is it okay if we take you back home with us?"
Han Xuewei spoke softly and gently to her three children.
However, Han's mother and Dad Han immediately became unhappy when they heard this.
"What do you two mean by this? Are you trying to cast us aside after using us? Throw us away when you no longer need us, is that it? Don't even think about it, it's absolutely not going to happen!"
They had finally been able to spend so much time with their eldest grandson.
And now these two show up, saying they're going to take the children away just like that.
"Mom, we're just taking the children for a few days. When I start school, I will bring them back to you. How could you possibly not see your grandson?"
Lin Yi was sitting on the couch, drinking tea and chatting with Dad, leaving the negotiation with Mom to Han Xuewei.
"Don't talk to me about that, I'm not listening. My eldest grandson's only been with us for a few days, and you want to take them away? That's impossible, absolutely not, do you hear me? My granddaughter, like my grandson, must stay right here with me. You can't just decide to take the children away after sending them over!"
His mother's tone was very agitated, she didn't want her beloved grandchildren to be taken away by these two.
Why didn't they think of that when they initially sent their grandchildren over?
It had only been a few days, and they were not ready to part with them!
Han Xuewei hadn't expected it to be this difficult, she had thought she could simply take the children away.
After all, weren't the three children supposed to be a burden to them? Shouldn't they have been very annoyed already?
They had reached the age to enjoy their peace and quiet, and yet they had to take care of the children, which should have been a tiring task.
So why didn't these old folks feel tired at all, and even didn't want to let the children leave?
"Fine, fine, we'll just come by more often these next few days. Mom, you mustn't forget that they are my children after all. I will have to take them home eventually. It's okay for them to stay a bit longer, of course. And besides, Mom, you know that your daughter is of school age now."
Han Xuewei had explained it many times, but Mom wouldn't listen, the negotiation had failed.
Lin Yi sat on the side, drinking tea and chatting with Dad.
Han Xuewei walked over to Lin Yi, crestfallen, and then punched him in the arm.
Lin Yi was completely baffled, what had happened? Why had she suddenly hit him?
"Why didn't you help me talk just now? Mom won't let us take the kids away, so we'll just have to come back a few more times in the next few days. Besides, if you had spoken up, Mom would have definitely agreed; she loves you the most."
Han Xuewei truly wanted to take the children with her. She couldn't possibly keep running back and forth over the next few days, that would be too inconvenient.
So, they could only ask Lin Yi to step in.
"It's useless for you to talk to Mom, and how could it be useful if I talk to her? Okay, okay, don't be angry, alright? I'll talk to her in a bit, but first, come see this game of chess between me and Dad."
To soothe his wife, Lin Yi still agreed to Han Xuewei's request.
After dinner, he would have a good talk with his mother.
Usually, his mother did tend to listen to Lin Yi.
But on this matter, Lin Yi felt that even if he spoke up, it wouldn't make a difference.
"New task: Please pick up the children and spend three days with them, letting them experience complete happiness. The reward is 50 million."
After hearing about the new task issued by the system, Lin Yi almost spat out all the tea he was drinking.
What was going on? The tasks given by the system were too random, weren't they?
And what was this about staying with the children for three days and ensuring they felt complete happiness?
What exactly counted as making the children happy? Would buying them things and taking them out to play suffice?

"How can you be so full from drinking tea? Alright, alright, I'll play chess with Dad. You go and talk to Mom."
Looking at the situation, if he didn't take the children away, he probably wouldn't be able to complete the task.
If he couldn't complete the task, he wouldn't be able to move on to the next one.
Lin Yi gave up his seat at the chessboard and then went to find Han's mother.
"Mom, I heard from Xuewei that she wants to pick up the children, but you disagree. I came to see what the situation is. Is it because the children haven't been back for a long time, so you want to spend more days with them?"
Lin Yi sat down beside Han's mother and spoke softly to her.
He hoped Han's mother could understand them and let them take the children away for a few days.
After all, it had been so many days since they had spent time together with their children, and they, as parents, missed them too.
"You still know we miss our granddaughter and grandson? You haven't brought them to see us for so many days, and you didn't even tell me about the dangers at the kindergarten. It wasn't easy for you to bring the children here, so how can you take them away so quickly? I know you want to take the children back, but we also want them to stay here."
Han's mother had never done something like this before, but since she did it today, it clearly showed how much she loved these children.
"Mom, I understand. We'll only take the children back for three days. Very soon, we'll bring them back to you. Don't worry, we won't interfere with the time you want to spend with your grandchildren."
After Lin Yi's unwavering persuasion, Han's mother eventually gave in and agreed to let them take the children back.
Lin Yi breathed a sigh of relief; otherwise, this task would have been rather difficult to complete.
"Alright, alright, you always have the sweet tongue, you're the smooth talker. I really don't know how my silly daughter managed to land you. Okay, go pick up the children, but remember, you must bring them back to me after three days!"
