Obsession's Edge: Alaska

Chapter 9: bab 9

In a grand apartment towering over the city, Alaska sat in a black leather chair in his glass-walled office, gazing out at the night skyline. But his mind was clearly not focused on the city's glittering lights or the stacks of documents on his desk. His fingers kept twirling a pen, spinning it endlessly as if the small object could calm the storm raging inside him.

Alaska let out a quiet sigh and leaned back in his chair. His gaze was vacant, yet there was an undeniable restlessness behind his cold expression.

"How is this possible?" he murmured, disbelief lacing his tone. "She... she's just a random girl who stumbled into my life without warning. A careless girl, oblivious to her place. A filthy girl..."

Yet, his mind instantly drifted back to that moment—their skin touching, the softness of Ivy's body, the scent of her intoxicating enough to strip away his control, and the way she writhed beneath him. A flash of pleasure so overwhelming that it rattled him to his core.

"And me?" he whispered, his cold tone beginning to crack. "I didn't just touch her. I... savored every second of it." His grip on the pen tightened so much it nearly snapped.

His eyes narrowed, trying to erase Ivy's image from his mind, but it was useless. Her face haunted him—her eyes flickering between desire and shame, her body flushed with an unfamiliar warmth.

"No disgust, no reluctance... What the hell is this?" Alaska ran a rough hand down his face, trying to wipe away the unease consuming him.

He rose from his chair and stepped toward the window. His sharp gaze attempted to convince himself that this was nothing but a fleeting game, an encounter he should be able to forget effortlessly. But the truth was, the feeling only burrowed deeper.

"That damn girl," he hissed in frustration, his fists clenching at his sides. "You didn't just steal my night—you stole my thoughts. And that's something I can't allow."

With a firm stride, Alaska returned to his desk, picked up his phone, and typed a short yet ominous message to his assistant:

"Find out everything about the girl who slept with me last night. I don't want a single detail overlooked."

After hitting send, Alaska leaned back in his chair, his gaze locked onto the phone screen. He exhaled slowly, then smirked faintly.

"I want to know what makes you so intriguing, little kitten." His voice carried both curiosity and a challenge.

His fingers brushed against his lips, recalling the warmth that once pressed against them. In the silence, his mind was filled with Ivy—someone who shouldn't have captivated him but now completely dominated his thoughts. His smirk deepened into something far more wicked.

"You're the only one who has managed to breach my walls, Ivy. The first girl to make me feel... alive."

His thoughts were shattered by a sharp knock on the door. The sound was firm and deliberate, hinting at urgency.

"Sir, I have the information about Miss Ivy," came a respectful yet serious voice from outside.

Alaska raised an eyebrow, his smirk returning. "That was fast," he murmured before calling out, "Enter."

The door opened slowly, revealing Liam, his trusted assistant, who stepped inside holding a sleek black tablet. His black suit was pristine, but the sharpness in his eyes showed that he had been working tirelessly to complete this task. Alaska gazed at the young man with expectant eyes.

"Tell me, Liam," Alaska commanded, his tone cold but heavy enough to make Liam feel the pressure.

Liam nodded, standing upright as he began his report in a calm voice. "Sir, I've gathered all the information on Miss Ivy. Her full name is Ivy Calista Jade, the eldest daughter of the influential Jade family in this city. She is 20 years old."

Alaska narrowed his eyes, signaling him to continue. "Go on."

Liam took a deep breath before proceeding. "Today was supposed to be her engagement day with Darren Bennett, the sole heir of the Bennett family. However, the night before the event, Miss Ivy caught Darren cheating..."

Alaska raised an eyebrow, his expression devoid of surprise. "With whom?"

Liam swallowed before answering, "With his own sister—Luna Amara Jade."

A soft chuckle escaped Alaska's lips, but there was an icy edge to it. "Interesting. So she went to a bar to drown her disappointment?"

"Yes, sir," Liam confirmed. But before Alaska could respond, Liam added, "However, there's more, sir."

Alaska's gaze sharpened, piercing through him like a blade. "Tell me everything, Liam."

Liam steadied his breath, maintaining his composure. "This morning, Miss Ivy was thrown out of her home. From what I gathered, this was orchestrated by her sister, Luna. She twisted the story and pinned the blame on Ivy for the incident last night."

Alaska's eyes darkened, his jaw tightening. "Thrown out? By her own family?" he murmured, his voice low yet brimming with restrained fury. "How cruel."

His gaze returned to Liam, now burning with intensity. "Find out where Ivy is right now. Make sure no one touches her without my permission. I want to know everything—every move she makes, every person she meets. And..." he paused, locking eyes with his assistant, "Find out what she desires, what makes her vulnerable, and what will make her... submit."

Liam bowed his head. "I'll handle it, sir."

As Liam exited the room, Alaska leaned back in his chair, his smirk returning, now laced with unshakable determination.

He exhaled deeply, steadying the fire in his chest that was slowly morphing into something far more dangerous. Rising to his feet, he loomed over the city like a king on his throne. His sharp eyes caught his reflection in the large mirror at the corner of the room. What he saw was different—pride, determination, and an unquenchable hunger.

"Ivy Calista Jade!" Alaska's voice echoed, filled with undeniable power. "When everyone else casts you aside, when this world no longer gives you a place, I will be the exception. I will step forward, stand before you."

His gaze turned darker, a sinister smirk tugging at his lips. He moved closer to the massive window, looking down at the dazzling cityscape. But his mind wasn't focused on the towering buildings—it was fixed on one person, Ivy.

"Sooner or later, you will be mine," he muttered, his voice raspy yet laced with ambition. "Not because I want to save you. But because I want you... entirely."

His fists clenched, his fingers trembling from the intensity of his emotions. In his mind, Ivy wasn't just a woman who had caught his attention—she was a challenge, something he needed to possess, something that needed to bow to his will.

Turning back, Alaska strode toward his desk. His gaze flickered to the scattered documents before he swept them off the surface in one swift motion. Papers flew to the floor, but he didn't care. To him, only one thing mattered now.

"This world is too cruel for you, Ivy. But under me, you'll find your place—the place where I dictate your life. You will be mine, not because you want it, but because it will be your only choice."

His expression hardened, his smirk evolving into sheer determination. Picking up his phone, he typed a series of swift orders for Liam. Each step, each move was unfolding in his mind, weaving together like a perfect web.

"Let's see, Ivy. You can hate me, resist me, or even try to run. But in the end, fate has already decided where you belong, by my side, under my control. You are mine, whether you realize it or not."

His gaze returned to the window. Outside, the world looked peaceful, but inside him, a storm was brewing, growing stronger. Alaska knew this wasn't just an ordinary desire. It was an obsession, one that had taken root, transforming into an unstoppable resolve. And Ivy was the answer.
