As Artus and Gabell finished their daily training, they sat at the edge of the field.

Artus was staring at the wooden stick in his hand, while Gabell sat crossed-legged. Lost in thought.

"Artus, the village chief informed me that the academy officer will arrive in 3 days"

"The Royal Arcanum Academy is located beyond the great Moonshadow forest, we are lucky that our small Pinefall village is located at the edge of the great forest, so they will pass by here in return for their journey to the royal academy"

"The Royal Arcanum is the only academy in this small kingdom that specializes in teaching mages, worriers and schoolers"

"The Royal Arcanum Academy has three main divisions, first the magic division, which is the largest and the oldest with the most prestige, it's also the leader of the academy after all the academy was built in the first place to teach magic"

"Second the worrier's division was established later on after the magic academy to train worriers in the use of fighting aura"

"Third the schooler division, it is somewhat small when compared to the former two divisions, schoolers there specialize in the study of the theoretical aspect of magic"

"It has only been several decades since it was established so it is still relatively new"

"Your strength has improved, hopefully, you will get a chance to receive an invitation letter to the upcoming worrier's trail"

"You also knew how to read, write and have a decent amount of knowledge about various subjects"

"Your mother told me that you got a book about magic from Glenn"

"For the next 3 days she will teach about magic, she knows a bit"

"So, you may also get a chance to be invited to the schooler's exam"

"That means you have two shoots at the academy"

Gabell did not mention anything about the magic divisions. After all, even if Artus had a talent for magic he did not receive any formal training, nor did he take any supplements and potions, he was only given vitality potions in hopes of improving his already weak body, so it is impossible for Artus to get an invitation letter for the magic trails, at least in their current circumstances.

"So, if you get a chance to enroll there, you will be able to change your fate"

Gabell patted Artus on the back lightly then he stood up, Throughout the entire conversation Artus did not say a word as if he was lost in his world. His eyes looked at the back of Gabell who was walking towards the house.

"Artus, I will leave you alone for now to sort your thoughts, talk your time, but don't be late for dinner"

Later that day, Artus spent time with Milla; she taught him about the world and lots of information about the nature of magic, spells, magical artifacts, weapons, and tools. She also told him about magic beasts, he was surprised that she knew so many things about magic.

Then he headed back to his room, he sat down on the floor, wrapped the blindfold around his eyes, and started to concentrate.

Slowly he started feeling the presence of tiny light-blue colored dots around him. The first time he saw them, there were only a few dots with very faint light, then these tiny dots were increasing in number, and they became brighter with time.

But this was the first time that he saw them moving, they were moving randomly like small fireflies in the night.

When some of them passed by his body, he felt a light touch akin to feathers falling on him.

In the previous few days, he had progressed in both physical training with his father and magical training alone.

Now it could be said that he had accomplished the first step on the path to becoming a mage, he is able to sense the energy of the world, he is now confident enough that he will at least to able to get an invitation to the magic division trails when the academy officers come to the village.

He had long decided to become a mage when first learned about the presence of magic upon coming to this world.

In his past life, he was an exceptional scientist, especially in the field of nuclear power research. So, he knew he had sufficient mental ability to become a mage, without even mentioning the fact he was born with a weak body, so all in all becoming a fighter was not an option.

After he finished his practice, he stood up and drank water from the bottle of potion then he went to sleep.

Past midnight time, Artus was sleeping soundly in his bed, a faint blue light suddenly glowed between his eyebrows.

"Initiation of activation protocol"

A human-like machine synthesized sound was projected inside Artus's mind, if he was awake, he could immediately recognize this familiar voice, it was the voice of NuroFusion AI computer that Artus worked with when he was Dr Jeffrey Oppenheim in his old world.
