Chapter 194: Signing in
The next day, Yohan arrived at the theater and dance department with a mission burning in his chest.
He needed answers. He needed the truth behind what Jenna had told him.
Imagining Freddie and the others as criminals wasn't a stretch—too many things about them made sense in that direction.
"Or maybe not… no, I always knew Hazard would end up in some kind of gang," he muttered under his breath.
He glanced around the buzzing hallway. "I'm supposed to see Professor Kim this morning… but where the hell is her office?" He kept scanning left and right, dodging students rushing to early rehearsals and warm-ups.
Then—he froze.
Freddie was walking down the hallway… hand in hand with Cassie.
Freddie spotted him at the same moment. A flash of panic cut across his face—sharp, raw, unmistakable—before he forced it down and replaced it with something calmer, flatter. He even changed directions and walked toward Yohan.
"Hey… Yohan," Freddie said, trying for casual.
"Yohan?" Cassie blinked, brows scrunched as if she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She looked again, then a third time, disbelief painted all over her face.
"Yohan, what are you doing here?" Cassie asked, genuinely puzzled.
"I just came to have a look around," he replied casually.
"And ended up getting a job as Professor Kim's assistant. That's some luck," Freddie added with a small, practiced smile.
"Professor Kim from the dance department?" Cassie's brows shot up.
"Yeah," Freddie said, shrugging. "I was just as surprised as you are."
"I thought they said that woman was impossible to please?"
"Not for your cousin," Freddie said, clapping Yohan lightly on the shoulder. "He managed to impress her with just his skills."
"What skills?"
"Dancing skills," Freddie replied. "Turns out Yohan is a very talented dancer."
"Wow… I never knew," Cassie said, her surprise sincere.
Yohan didn't say a word.
He stood there, hands in his pockets, trying not to look directly at Freddie. Jenna's words crept through his mind like cold fingers.
'If she's right… then even Cassie isn't safe'
His jaw tightened.
"Cassie," he said finally, "can I have a word with you?"
"I'm sorry, I'm heading to class. Can we meet up after?" Cassie asked.
"Sure. Just call me when you're done," Yohan replied, watching as she gave Freddie a quick peck on the cheek before rushing off.
Yohan was about to step away when he felt Freddie's hand drop on his shoulder.
"Hey man… were you about to do something stupid? Like tell her about Nora?"
Yohan's expression stayed calm and unreadable. "What if I was?"
Freddie groaned, running a hand through his hair. "You fucker…"
Then he let out a long sigh, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Why are you like this? We're both guys… why do you have to make it so complicated?"
"I like Cassie a lot," Freddie said quietly. "And I don't want to lose her. I've already broken things off with the other girl."
Yohan froze, his gaze locking on Freddie. Memories of last night flashed through his mind—he already knew Freddie had been on a date with the very girl he now claimed to have broken things off with.
Although it was quite amusing to think that Freddie actually believed Yohan would buy such a lie—especially when Yohan knew exactly what kind of person Freddie was—he decided it was best to just play along.
"Okay," Yohan said, "I'll keep your secret… but on one condition. You let me hang out with you and the guys."
"Huh?" Freddie blinked, a mix of disbelief and confusion crossing his face. "Are you serious?"
"Yeah," Yohan continued, shrugging. "We used to have a lot of fun together, and I don't really know anyone else here besides the Ant Man. I just want it to feel like old times."
Freddie paused, thinking it over. He figured Yohan must be missing his cool friends, and this was his roundabout way of asking to reconnect.
Although Freddie had never considered Yohan a true friend, having him around wasn't the worst idea—he could be useful, and he was always a good ass kisser.
With his new look and boldness, Freddie hesitated for a moment before accepting Yohan's request. But if all he had to do was pretend to be friends, it was a simple task.
"That would be great! We could hang out just like before," he said, forcing a bright smile.
"Yeah, just like old times," Yohan replied, grinning back.
"You're still using that same number from before, right? I'll text you when me and the guys are going out later tonight."
He threw an arm around Yohan's shoulder. "There's going to be some really nice girls, so you're going to have a good time."
Yohan glanced at him and couldn't help but wonder, 'Has he forgotten about Cassie already?'
'Well, I guess I'm in no place to judge…' he thought, reflecting on his own life choices.
Still, he couldn't ignore it—if Freddie was really taking advantage of unsuspecting girls like this, someone had to hold him accountable.
"See you later, Yohan," Freddie called, waving as he walked away.
Yohan continued his quest to find the professor's office. On the way, he ran into the girl from class—the one who had pulled him in and started all this.
Her face lit up the moment she saw him.
"Yohan! Nice to see you again," she said, approaching with a bright smile.
"Same," he replied casually. "I didn't get your name."
"I'm Lisa, the class rep for most of our courses."
"Thank goodness—that means you can show me to Professor Kim's office," he said.
"Sure, it's this way," she replied, turning and leading the way down the hallway.
From behind Yohan watched her tiny skirt sway from side to side, almost revealing a bit of her ass each time.
'She's so hot… it would be nice to have sex with one of these college students' he imagined it for only one moment and his cock was already turning hard.
They stopped in front of one of the doors.
"We're here," Lisa said, smiling.
