No! I don't want to be a Super Necromancer!

Chapter 77: Professor Orange

"I don't remember kids our era being so political and so full of intrigue." Professor Bai Lian rubbed her temples warily.

"Our princess grew up in a very difficult environment." Professor Orange replied serenely. "It is only right that she matured faster than we did. We grew up in the much more peaceful golden age of humanity after all."

Professor Orange carried herself with serene elegance, draped in flowing amber and gold robes that shimmered like sunlight, her copper-to-orange braid glowing faintly with restrained mana. Her molten amber eyes were calm but piercing, reflecting decades of wisdom.

Known for her mastery over light and life energy, she was a former battlefield strategist who once held off an entire division of corrupted elementals with nothing but barrier spells and precise mana control. Soft-spoken and composed, she rarely raised her voice, or her hand, but when she did, the battlefield bent around her like clockwork.

Professor Kong Hu stood at the edge of the balcony, arms crossed as he watched Damien Bloodbane's team on one ridge and the Americans on another, with the rest of the first years groaning in between them.

"They're not fighting each other," he said flatly. "And wasting my battlefield."

"Hmmm. If they won't fight each other, then maybe… they should fight us." Professor Wu said thoughtfully.

There was a moment of silence.

Then Professor Bai Lian blinked. "...Wait. That's actually not a bad idea."

Professor Huang raised a brow. "You mean, let them unite? See what they do when the adults step in?"

Professor Kong Hu considered it. "They've been dancing around like they're generals. Fine. Let's see how they handle a plot twist."

"Who'll go down there?" Professor Bai Lian asked, smirking. "Surely not you, Kong Hu. You'd reduce them to atoms."

Then, quietly and calmly, Professor Orange rose from her seat.

"I will."

Every head turned.

She adjusted the golden sleeves of her robe as they shimmered faintly with light. Her expression was tranquil, almost gentle.

"I'll remind them," she said, "what it means to face someone whose purpose wasn't to win… but to kill."

Professor Wu grinned behind his cup. "Gods help them."

Professor Kong Hu nodded. "Permission granted. Do as you see fit. Just don't actually kill them."

Without warning, a thunderous chime rang across the battlefield.

The sky shimmered.

The sun flared.

And then Professor Orange descended.

Light formed beneath her feet as if the sky itself had conjured a staircase just to carry her.

She hovered above the center of the field, robes flowing, eyes soft and radiant.

Then her voice echoed, soothing and terrible all at once:

"All students, listen up. A new enemy has arrived… Me. All of you come at me together. You may use everything you've learned. Do your worst."

Gasps spread across the field.

Fatty blurted, "I'm sorry, what?!"

Ji Chen looked up grimly. "This is bad."

Athena stared, eyes wide and then grinned. "Now this is exciting."

Damien Bloodbane narrowed his gaze. "She's at least A rank!"

Without warning…

Professor Orange moved.

Light exploded from the sky. Pure, radiant beams like divine judgment tore through the air, bending and refracting with blinding speed.

Dozens of students leapt into action, casting barriers, launching elemental strikes, forming squads.

It didn't matter.

Professor Orange weaved between it all with unnatural grace, like a glowing ghost.

She raised a single hand and a massive wave of life energy pulsed outward.

Some students simply collapsed, unconscious but unhurt, their mana forcefully suppressed and neutralized. Others froze mid-cast, their internal mana flow redirected with terrifying precision.

There were some who were strong enough to resist.

She appeared in front of them in a flash of golden light, tapping them lightly. Nn the shoulder, the chest, the back, And each time, they dropped. Disarmed. Overwhelmed.

The Storm Twins struck her with a combined attack of lightning and wind, a combo which had defeated countless Chinese students earlier.

She smiled softly, spun once, and redirected the currents into the sky.

Jason Park roared and charged with his shield.

She stepped to the side. Tapped his ankle with her toe.

He fell like a mountain.

Spell after spell shattered against her radiant barriers, and the battlefield grew silent save for the thump of students falling unconscious.

Within minutes, over fifty students lay scattered across the field, groaning or dazed.

Only four remained standing.

Athena—hair whipping wildly, radiant with adrenaline, a sword of golden energy in one hand and pure excitement in her eyes.

Jiang Xiao Yu—a cloak of blue mana wrapped around her like a tide held at bay, standing calmly in a flawless defensive stance, her eyes tracking every movement.

Damien Bloodbane—hands still in his pockets, shirt torn slightly, eyes locked onto her with a mixture of respect and challenge.

And…

Fatty. Wide-eyed. Breathing hard. Somehow unscathed.

Professor Orange paused, floating gently above the ground.

She looked at the four of them.

Smiled.

"Interesting."

The battlefield was silent for a moment.

Professor Orange hovered above the scorched field like a benevolent archangel, her golden robes untouched, her copper-orange braid swaying gently in the wind.

Then she moved.

Athena reacted instantly, leaping forward with a blazing sword of golden light in her hand. "Let's dance, Grandma!" she yelled, face alight with adrenaline.

Orange said nothing.

She vanished.

Appeared behind Athena mid-air.

A flash. A flurry. A crack.

Athena's body jolted, five piercing strikes of focused light tore through her defenses like they weren't there.

"Too hasty. How many times have I taught you to always watch your back?" Professor Orange sighed as her palm smashed into Athena's back ruthlessly.

Athena flew and hit the ground hard, her form bouncing once before skidding to a stop, blood trailing behind her.

Gasps rang out from the sidelines.

But before panic could rise…

Professor Orange appeared calmly beside her and placed one hand on Athena's chest.

Life magic bloomed like morning sunlight.

Bruises vanished. Bones realigned. Blood retracted.

Athena gasped, breathing again.

Professor Orange smiled at her like a loving grandmother fixing her grand daughter's scraped knee.

Then she turned her head gently to the three who remained.

Damien. Jiang Xiao Yu. Fatty.

Her smile didn't change, but the air grew colder.

It was the kind of smile that preceded a disaster.

Professor Wu swallowed. "The gentlest… are always the scariest when they get mad."

She moved again.

And this time, Fatty was the target.
