Chapter 5101 Devil Spirit
Long Chen rushed forward, aware that while most of the might be a mass of rabble, they were under the control of their commanders. He didn’t know how exactly they communicated, but the Heavenly Chosen devil creature he had slain was the leader of that particular army.
As Long Chen continued forward, he encountered more . After defeating several waves of them, he realized they were closing in, creating a trap-like net. The outer region was designed to ensnare the intruders, and once caught, the would slaughter the intruders.
Long Chen found himself in a large ambush circle. Through his soulsearches, he learned that this region was heavily guarded, with dozens of armies searching for people.
Furthermore, from their memories, it seemed that their goal wasn’t to kill all experts, but Long Chen couldn’t discern their true objective.
Continuing forward, he quickly heard loud roars and felt the ground tremble. Long Chen immediately rushed toward the source of disturbance.
After crossing a mountain and seeing the situation below, he couldn’t help but feel shocked. Within the large mountain range, there was a tide of , surrounding tens of thousands of people. The roared in unison, their cries resembling a chant or prayer.
Among the captured, Long Chen saw experts from the demon race, devil race, Blood race, and human race. However, he did not recognize the humans or have any personal connection with them. Therefore, he climbed to the top of a nearby mountain to observe the situation from a distance.
Amongst these tens of thousands of experts were dozens of Heavenly Chosens. Some of them were quite powerful, but there was no chance for them to escape the encirclement of countless .
After all, the vastly outnumbered them, and they had thousands of existences on par with Heavenly Chosens. Long Chen saw despair in the eyes of the experts trapped at the center.
The were jumping and dancing, their roars growing more synchronized. A strange light flickered on their bodies, gathering at the center.
All the trapped experts were terrified, unable to understand the ’ intentions. Some tried to escape, but their efforts were futile.
The showed no urgency to kill. Instead, they continued to roar and jump according to their strange ceremony. Long Chen’s heart suddenly shook with a sense of foreboding.
“This is a sacrificial rite!”
With his experience, Long Chen managed to see some clues from their movements and cries on the battlefield.
Long Chen’s gaze swept through the , and he quickly spotted an elder wielding a white bone staff. This elder was dressed in beast hide and wore a bone crown, his face covered in runes and his pupils vertical like a crocodile’s.
“A three-vein Heaven Saint!” exclaimed Long Chen, his heart shaking when he saw the elder. The elder’s devil qi was overflowing, and although his form was human, his aura resembled that of the .
The elder’s magical staff glowed as he conducted the ritual. He chanted and stamped his staff on the ground in a rhythm that matched the synchronized roars of the .
Suddenly, the elder roared and stamped his staff on the ground ferociously. The light flowing on top of the ’ bodies then poured toward the center of the battlefield.
Buzz.
A giant vortex appeared, drawing the experts in with terrifying speed. Their screams of terror were quickly silenced as they were sucked away; even Heavenly Chosens were powerless in front of that vortex.
Long Chen hastily took out the violet crystal heavenly eye and gazed into the vortex. The violet crystal heavenly eye allowed him to see a massive altar beyond the vortex, upon which sat a giant stone. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
The stone was thrumming with life and covered in flowing runes—it was a stone fetus. The aura coming out of it was hair-raising.
As Long Chen attempted to investigate further, the vortex suddenly vanished, cutting off his view.
“That stone fetus is definitely hiding some shocking secret,” muttered Long Chen as he put down the violet crystal heavenly eye, his heart pounding.
Long Chen had seen such ceremonies and formations in both the mortal and immortal world, and without exception, whatever was incubated inside turned out to be a terrifying existence.
The were sacrificing these experts to nourish the stone fetus, which bore a resemblance to Little Snow’s divine egg from back then. These sacrifices were obviously intended to incubate something within.
“These brainless creatures are sacrificing these experts to the stone fetus. It makes no sense. I have to find a way to sneak in,” Long Chen muttered, clenching his fists. This discovery was absolutely shocking, so he had to see what was going on.
Buzz.
Suddenly, Long Chen’s sense of danger flared, and he instinctively dodged to the side.
BOOM!
A white bone staff pierced the place Long Chen had just been. Had he reacted the slightest bit slower, he would have been squashed into a meat pancake.
Seeing the white bone staff, Long Chen instantly thought of that elder’s terrifying face.
The next moment, the white bone staff flew up, and Long Chen looked up to see the elder staring at him coldly.
“What a powerful Blood Qi and soul... If we sacrifice you, the Devil Spirit might even directly awaken,” the elder said, his voice grating like a shovel scraping over sand. Runes danced across his face like countless centipedes.
The enormous army of flowed over like the tide, instantly surrounding Long Chen.
Facing the tide of and a three-vein Heaven Saint, Long Chen didn’t look worried at all.
Looking at the elder with an apathetic gaze, Long Chen asked, “Is that stone fetus on the altar your Devil Spirit?”
The elder did not respond. Instead, he stamped his bone staff, and the roars of the surged anew, their strange dance continuing in a rhythmic, eerie pattern.
Long Chen felt his body tighten as the collective power of the locked onto him.
“If you won’t answer, I’ll force it out of you!” Long Chen said, summoning his Scarlet Dragon Battle Armor. The divine ring blazed to life, and a fierce dragon cry filled the air.
