Nindō: Dominion

Chapter 77: Nindō 0077: Assignment

The night was bound to be a sleepless one. With how much Naruto had left Hinata hanging, she was out for vengeance, giving it her all to suck him dry and leave him writhing under her. Unfortunately, she was going against one of the strongest people in the world and an Uzumaki to boot. It was impossible for Naruto to lose to his wife in terms of sexual stamina, no matter how much she wanted to win.

As the morning sun shone through the gaps in the curtains, the scene inside the room was illuminated, displaying the scene of Naruto leaning against the headboard with his arms wrapped around his wife's figure as she slowly swayed on top of him with her legs wrapped around his waist. Instead of the passionate actions of the night, they were moving lazily as Naruto whispered sweet nothings into Hinata's ears. Her movements were slow enough that it seemed like she would go to sleep at any moment.

After a few minutes, that's exactly what happened. Her movements all but ceased as her head rested on his shoulder, releasing faint breaths right beside his ear. Though even in her sleep, Hinata's hips had a faint movement going on, instinctively moving higher and lower.

"You really love sleeping when I'm inside you, don't you, honey?" Naruto whispered in her ear while tracing his fingers up and down her spine. "Get some good rest. I'll make breakfast for the kids and everything." As Naruto decided to let go of his wife and get up, a pang of reluctance hit him. "Forget it."

Without using any hand signs, Naruto's clone appeared beside the bed. It ignored the traces of the previous night's actions that marked the room all over, simply walking out to make breakfast for the kids and take care of the rest of the things. This was his second clone, one other having left a while ago to train Sarada. After telling his disciple to wake up before sunrise, even to train at five in the morning, it wouldn't be good for Naruto to be late either.

"I guess I'll also stay in today," Naruto said lazily without changing position.

"I just remembered …" Hinata's consciousness returned to reality.

"What?"

"I'm late … my uh … you know," She spoke with a little apprehension.

"I noticed. You should've started during the weekend, but it's already Monday now. We'll have to delay our trip to after the council meeting now," Naruto nodded. "It's fine, though. Worse comes to worst, Boruto and Hima will get another sibling. At least our trip won't be delayed, in that case."

"Cool …" Hinata didn't seem too worked up about it, especially after Naruto's casual words of assurance. He whispered some more words of reassurance in her ear, and she went right back to sleep.

"What's the deal, Brother-in-law? Are you giving us a special mission? You rarely put genin teams together," Hanabi had stayed back as Konohamaru left to gather Team 7 to report to the Hokage office. Hanabi's Team 15 had to do the same, but they were marginally more diligent and were already in the waiting room with Hanabi when she came to get their assigned mission.

"At least you were prudent enough to call me Hokage in front of Konohamaru," Naruto shook his head.

"Of course, who do you think I am?" Hanabi puffed out her chest pridefully. "I am the heiress of the Hyūga clan. Naturally, I only call you brother-in-law among family. Anyway, tell me about the mission."

She didn't hesitate for a moment before dragging one of the chairs opposite Naruto around the desk and pulling it beside him, facing the village window. She sat down and looked at him.

"Yes," He smiled at her antics and swiveled his chair to face the view as well. "This is an A-rank mission. I'll tell you the details when the rest of them arrive, but it's a numbers mission. I was planning to send a special jōnin cell to deal with it, but your nephew begged me for an interesting mission."

"Oh, so if anything goes wrong on this mission, I should blame my nephew?" Hanabi looked at him pointedly and leaned forward intimidatingly.

Naruto's gaze momentarily fell lower to Hanabi's cleavage, but he played it off as if he were thoughtful, "If anything goes wrong on this mission, it's yours and Konohamaru's responsibility. So take care of the kids."

'Hanabi hides it well, but damn. She's truly Hinata's sister …'

Her kimono top didn't particularly hide much when Hanabi leaned forward like that.

"You can trust me," If she noticed Naruto's gaze, she didn't comment on it. She patted his shoulder with a 'You can count on me' expression. "That's why you're sending me, right? Because I'm stronger and more reliable than Konohamaru? After all, you wouldn't want your son and disciple to come to any harm."

"That's debatable," he didn't give her the satisfaction. "The only jōnin who can be actually classified as stronger than the others is Sai. The others are all close enough that who wins is anyone's guess."

"You think Sai is stronger than me?!" Hanabi was outraged.

"Unquestionably so. That's why he's the Anbu commander. He is one of the village's top combatants."

"All right! This is enough disrespect. As the Hyūga heiress, I command the Hokage to summon him to the village this instant. I will fight him to the death to prove my superior strength."

"Sure," Naruto agreed without a second thought and turned around to his desk. Just as he picked up the pen to write a letter to Sai, she grabbed his arm with both hands.

"Why are you taking things so seriously?" Hanabi chuckled nervously, tightening her hold over his arm and pulling herself closer. "I was just playing around, brother-in-law …"

"That's better," Naruto nodded, ignoring Hanabi's arms.

"Now my sister tells me that we're going on a small vacation soon …" Hanabi said. "Probably in three days."

"Who said you're coming? Your mission is going to take you until Friday, at least. The 'we' here includes myself, my wife, and my kids."

"You forgot your sister-in-law," Hanabi laughed, shaking his arm. "I'm coming with. If you refuse, then I'm complaining to Nee-chan."

Naruto shook his head in defeat, "You know you are using my wife as your weapon here, right?"

"I don't care."

"Fine, we'll need a babysitter for the kids if I want to spend some quality time with Hinata. We won't be leaving until after the council meeting anyway."

"That's the spirit. I was just about to pull the Boruto card on you."

"You've always tagged along since we had kids, Hanabi. Hinata makes sure to invite you."

"And haven't you enjoyed the fruits of my presence?" She raised her brows suggestively. "However, it's been three years since we all went on vacation together."

"Yeah, well, being Hokage takes it out of a person," Naruto sighed.

"Well, at least you're fixing things. Nee-chan tells me you've been a much better husband to her recently. I approve," she nodded haughtily.

"Thank you, oh great Hyūga heiress," Naruto laughed. "Now get going. Konohamaru is here. Bring your team inside with Team 7."

"Will do," Hanabi nodded, finally prying herself away from him and putting her chair back in place before going out.

A few minutes later, both teams entered the Hokage's office.

"So, are you really giving us a big mission, Dad?" Boruto asked excitedly as he entered first, followed by Mitsuki and Konohamaru, who were followed by Sarada and Hanabi, while the last were the three genin from Hanabi's team. One of them was familiar to Naruto, while the other two were less so. They were Wasabi Izuno and Namida Suzumeno, along with Sumire Kakei, the class representative of Boruto's year — there had been a small incident in the past regarding her summoned beast, Nue.

Hanabi and Sarada were engaged in an animated conversation as the older jōnin seemed to be grilling the young genin.

"So how is it training under the Hokage?" "If his teachings aren't to your liking, you can always come to me. I'll set him straight." "You are going to have a line of suitors solely based on your prospects in a few years …"

Hanabi was freely teasing Sarada, who was barely able to keep up with her while responding embarrassedly sometimes and sometimes not responding at all as Hanabi simply moved on to the next embarrassing thing.

"Ahem, Hanabi, pay attention," Naruto's cough got her attention. "I'm going to tell you all about the mission now."

Everyone straightened up and stood attentively with their respective teams at Naruto's words.

"This one is a rogue-nin issue that needs to be handled delicately. Hanabi and Konohamaru, you two should be familiar with Jūgo, right?" Naruto said and noticed Mitsuki tense up just a little before calming down.

"Yes," They nodded before sharing a look as Hanabi spoke up.

"One of Orochimaru's experiments. He's strong … Did he go rogue?"

"Not exactly. He was working on a bird infection in a village on the outskirts of the Land of Fire, bordering the Land of Rivers. At some point, he disappeared without dealing with the birds, a week later, he appeared, but this time in a berserk state, causing a lot of damage and killing a lot of birds while also injuring a number of villagers. I need you to go and subdue him and, if possible, work to find out if there was some external reason behind his transformation. It was an issue in the past, but for the past couple of years, he has learned to handle himself much better."

"Why do all of us need to go to deal with a single person?" Boruto asked. "Team 7 should be more than enough for this. No offense, Hanabi-neechan." Hanabi playfully huffed at her nephew.

"You think so because you aren't familiar with Jūgo," Naruto explained. "Due to Orochimaru's experiments, he can innately transform into a monstrous form by absorbing the natural energy surrounding him. Under control, it's equivalent to half a Sage Mode. Unfortunately, he can't control himself under that state. Otherwise, he would be a much stronger asset to the village. Plus, we don't want to eliminate him. He needs to be brought back. Unstable as he is, he is an asset."

"We will take care of it," Konohamaru nodded, followed by Team 7. Though both Sarada and Boruto were a little distracted, thinking about Naruto's words about him having half a Sage Mode. They knew what Sage Mode was. They'd practically grown up on stories and enactments about the Hokage's deeds, especially the story about the hero Nagato, who helped Naruto after he unlocked Sage Mode to subdue Pain.

"Yeah, this sounds like a fun mission. I can show you guys around the Land of Rivers as well. It's a beautiful place," Hanabi was much more casual.

"You will have one more participant in the battle," Naruto said. "Mirai, you can come in."

"Are you sure this isn't overkill?" Boruto said. "So many people for a single person." Naruto ignored his complaints.

A woman with short black hair and piercing red eyes flickered into the room with a Shunshin.

"Cousin?" Konohamaru was a little surprised. Unlike him, who chose to become a jōnin sensei, Mirai was part of the Anbu, one of the elites at that. Though this wasn't an Anbu mission, so there was no need for her to hide her identity.

She gave a smile in greeting to Konohamaru before saluting Naruto.

"Mirai, that's Sarada," He gestured. "Sarada, I want you to spend some time with Mirai and try to learn how she uses Genjutsu. It should provide valuable experience for you."

Both of them nodded solemnly.

"As for your words, Boruto. Having a genjutsu specialist there to subdue Jūgo will make things easier. To be frank with you, the genin here are still too weak to deal with such an opponent," Naruto was blunt. "This mission's true assignment is for Konohamaru, Hanabi, and Mirai. Jūgo warrants a jōnin cell. You six are going there to gain experience and help your respective sensei investigate the source of Jugo's transformation. That's all."
