Nightmare Assault

Chapter 423: Problem

Wei Jingting picked up Fatty by the back of his collar and dragged him to the wall. He knelt and picked up the butterfly knife.

"You were quite a talker." Wei Jingting moved the knife closer to Fatty's face. He smiled. "I want to cut off your tongue to remember you by. You won't mind that, right?" He pulled open Fatty's mouth and knocked on his teeth with the knife. Fatty's head lolled weakly to the side with closed eyes. He had really fainted…

Wei Jingting put away the knife and closed his knees. He knelt before Fatty. When he looked at Fatty, his red eyes filled with emotions that had not appeared before. It was like he was looking at his long-lost family. He slowly extended his hands to rub Fatty's cheeks. Then, he pinched the face into different faces. He was like a naughty kid playing with his older brother.

Beads of tears leaked out of his eyes to mix with the blood on his face. After a long time, Wei Jingting returned to normal. He opened Fatty's tightened arms and placed them on his knees. He turned with his back to the wall. His blood stained the blood. He had lost a lot of blood. The scariest thing was that the door inside his body was about to lose control.

The two leaned against each other. Fatty was twice his size, but this scene looked weirdly peaceful.

"I'll stay here to accompany you." Wei Jingting closed his eyes and mumbled, "I won't go anywhere." The butterfly knife was tossed away. The blade glinted.

"Those who harm her will die." Wu's voice rippled. Even the air was affected.

"To be honest, I quite like you. We are kindred spirits." Jiang Cheng said as he raised his arms. He wanted to let Wu know that he didn't mean him any harm. They were on the same team. "Lin Chen was a good girl." Jiang Cheng glanced at Lin Chen, who had fainted from overdosing. "Lee Maoshen and his friends deserved to die. Even if you don't do anything, I will teach them a lesson." Jiang Cheng was furious when he mentioned this. He added, "We have not interacted that much, so you don't know me. I am a purveyor of justice. That is a flaw that I fail to change." Jiang Cheng licked his lips. "We're quite similar."

"Everyone wants to live. There's nothing wrong with that." Jiang Cheng argued, "You chose to revive Lin Chen because you wanted her to live, right? However, your plan was interrupted when the police came to visit her."

"Is that what you think?" Wu asked.

Jiang Cheng pressed his lips together. He asked uncertainly, "Is that not true?"

After a long time, Wu walked over. His leather shoes made a sound that landed on Jiang Cheng's heart. He didn't harm Jiang Cheng but trained his focus on Lin Chen's face. She looked like she had fallen asleep.

"It was I who killed her." Wu reached out to adjust Lin Chen's hair. He had done this many times.

Jiang Cheng frowned. "Why?"

"Because living was torture to her. She never knew how to protect herself," Wu commented softly.

Jiang Cheng's face shifted when it dawned on him. "So Lin Chen's real killer was you and not Lee Maoshen's group."

"You can see it that way. But like you said, it doesn't really matter anymore." Wu stood up. He picked up the bottle of pills and placed it gingerly on the table.

"The dead don't need to know so much." Wu looked at Jiang Cheng and reached out his hand. "Give me the painting. Then, you can die."
