Chapter 92: Capturing Konan
In the dense forest of the Land of Water, Kaede moved swiftly, carrying Konan with one hand as if she weighed nothing.
Konan's face was pale. She had already tried to resist several times, but each attempt ended with her being subdued effortlessly. Her chakra reserves were almost completely depleted, and she could no longer activate her Paper Release.
Kaede glanced down at her.
"Don't waste your energy. I don't intend to kill you—yet."
Konan glared at him. "You've destroyed everything Nagato and Yahiko worked for… you're the one who will plunge the shinobi world into chaos."
Kaede chuckled. "Chaos? No, I'm going to end it. Peace doesn't come from idealistic speeches—it comes from absolute control."
She clenched her fists. "That's exactly why you're dangerous. You want peace only on your own terms, by ruling over everyone."
"And what's wrong with that?" Kaede asked lightly. "If it's the only way to end endless wars, then so be it."
He stopped, turning his head slightly as his senses picked up several faint chakra signatures.
"Looks like we have company."
A moment later, several shinobi from the Hidden Mist appeared, led by Ao. They froze when they saw Kaede standing there with Konan in his grasp.
"You… captured her?" Ao asked in disbelief.
Kaede's expression remained calm. "She attacked me, tried to kill me, and failed. Now she's mine."
One of the Mist shinobi hesitated. "Do you… want us to take her?"
Kaede waved them off. "No. This one is important. I'll deal with her myself."
The Mist shinobi exchanged uncertain looks but didn't argue. They had all seen Kaede's power—if he wanted someone dead, they'd be dead already.
Konan looked at them, her lips parting slightly as if to speak, but she said nothing. She knew they wouldn't help her.
Kaede started walking again, his pace unhurried yet impossibly fast.
"You'll stay with me until I decide otherwise," he said without looking at her.
Konan turned her gaze away. "I will never submit to you."
Kaede smirked. "We'll see. Everyone breaks eventually—it's just a matter of time."
They disappeared into the forest, leaving only the rustle of leaves behind.
