Night of the Clan Massacre: Leading the Uchiha to Defect from Konoha!

Chapter 77: The Prophecy of the Great Toad Sage!

Before the Great Toad Sage could leave the hall—

Boom!

In the next instant, a sharp blade of light swept over his head.

The stone above shattered instantly, and the entire hall was exposed to the open sky.

"Looks like you were prepared."

The Perfect Susanoo took slow, deliberate steps forward until it stopped in front of the Great Toad Sage.

Behind the Susanoo lay the corpses of numerous giant toads.

Standing inside the forehead of the Susanoo, Kaede stared coldly down at the Great Toad Sage.

"Where's Jiraiya? Did you have him taken back to Konoha?"

At this moment, the Great Toad Sage showed no sign of being cowed by the pressure of the Susanoo.

He remained calm and replied slowly,

"Not long ago, I foresaw your arrival at Mount Myoboku. That's why I sent the younger toads away in advance.

"As for Jiraiya, along with Fukasaku and Shima, they just left."

At those first words, a glint of intrigue flashed through Kaede's eyes.

"You've got quite the useful ability.

"But I wonder—did you happen to see your own future?"

The Great Toad Sage chuckled.

"Hehe, I've lived for over a thousand years; there's not much time left for me anyway.

"But you… if you continue your slaughter, it won't be long before you join me in the afterlife."

Truthfully, even he wasn't certain how this battle would end.

Though he could see visions of the future, when it came to Kaede, he could only catch glimpses—fragmented and rare.

And as for this specific battle… he couldn't see it at all.

Kaede narrowed his eyes.

"Oh? So you've seen my death?"

"Not exactly," the Great Toad Sage replied. "But I did see you fighting several powerful opponents… and you were at a disadvantage the entire time."

He glanced up at the Susanoo.

"And in the end, that vaunted ocular technique of yours was shattered under someone's kick."

Hearing that, Kaede didn't panic—instead, he smiled.

"Now that sounds interesting. I've been waiting for an opponent who could push me to go all out. Looks like I won't have to wait much longer.

"Unfortunately for you… you won't be around to see that fight."

The Susanoo's hands raised the Sword of Totsuka high into the air.

"Because you're going to die today!"

Even now, the Great Toad Sage showed no fear.

"I can sense the White Snake Sage's aura on you… you've killed that snake, haven't you?"

Kaede didn't bother to deny it.

"Missing your old friend? Don't worry—you'll be seeing them soon."

With that, the Totsuka Sword came slashing down!

Boom!

The ground trembled violently as the sword's energy burst forth, sweeping outwards at tremendous speed.

Several nearby mountains were split cleanly in half.

At the point of impact, a massive crater formed.

But when the dust settled, there was no corpse.

Kaede slowly turned his head—there stood the Great Toad Sage, having evaded the blow.

"Not bad speed."

Kaede twirled the Totsuka Sword.

"Slugs focus on regeneration, snakes on spirit… looks like you specialize in physical prowess.

"Just like those who train in Sage Mode."

As he spoke, his eyes gleamed.

After all, the Sage Mode granted to him by his system enhanced all three aspects—body, mind, and spirit.

The Great Toad Sage looked at the towering Susanoo with a trace of awe.

"Such power… seems I'll have to go all out."

He clapped his hands together.

In an instant, his body began to swell, growing to a height of ten thousand meters.

Kaede shook his head.

"Another one with this boring trick. The White Snake Sage did the same… what next, will the Slug Sage try it too?"

But then he remembered Tsunade's description of the slug's true form—massive from the start—so perhaps not.

The Great Toad Sage attacked.

"Sage Art: Frog Call!"

He clapped his hands again, opened his mouth, and unleashed a massive sonic wave visible to the naked eye.

It engulfed the Susanoo entirely.

Kaede narrowed his eyes.

"As expected—impressive."

Even with Kyōka Suigetsu in hand, the sound distorted his vision.

And it wasn't just that—it even disrupted chakra flow, and incredibly, it pierced through the Susanoo's defenses.

"So this sound can even destabilize chakra?"

Intrigued, Kaede pushed forward, sending a slash of sword energy at the toad.

But midway through, the attack was shattered by the sonic wave.

"No wonder you taught the Sage of Six Paths—you're far stronger than that filthy snake."

Kaede closed his eyes, feeling the toad's natural energy.

"Too bad… I also know Sage Mode."

Natural energy surged into the Susanoo, its body swelling rapidly.

This time, the Frog Call could no longer destabilize it.

Sage Art: Susanoo!

In the next second, the Susanoo grew even larger.

"Can't take it head-on!"

The Great Toad Sage's eyes flickered. He saw the outcome of resisting directly—death.

He leapt high into the clouds.

"This is my domain! I won't let you run rampant!"

Suddenly, Kaede felt immense pressure bearing down on him.

"Stage Collapse Technique!"

The Great Toad Sage's body grew even larger midair, plummeting straight down toward the Susanoo.

He intended to crush it entirely.

Here in Mount Myoboku, he could channel natural energy through the land itself—using it to enhance his power.

Kaede looked up at the descending titan.

"Now it's getting interesting… you're almost at full power."

Gripping the Totsuka Sword with both hands, he said,

"I never said this was my full strength."

Lightning crackled across the Susanoo, shattering the pressure.

Ghostly spirits emerged, shrieking at the Great Toad Sage.

"Slash!"

The sword swung.

"Not good!" the Great Toad Sage thought in alarm.

"If I take this hit, I'll die!"

With no hesitation, he manipulated the mountain's earth, forming countless colossal arms to seize the Susanoo.

For a moment, it couldn't break free.

Seizing the chance, the Great Toad Sage twisted his body and unleashed a massive sphere of pure natural energy from his jaws.

As he landed, the Susanoo broke free—but the attack was already complete.

The sphere shot straight at him.

In haste, Kaede raised the Totsuka Sword to block.

Boom!

The explosion's light swallowed half of Mount Myoboku.
