Chapter 60: One Man and One Sword Descends to the Land of Iron!
"Haa~"
Ōnoki let out a deep sigh.
Just moments ago, he had finished listening to Kitsuchi's full report on the incident.
"You handled this matter well. Now is not the time to make an enemy of Kaede."
"If he really has brought the Nine-Tails to the Hidden Waterfall Village, then his constant taunting of you earlier was probably because of the beast at your side!"
"He wants the Five-Tails too?" Kitsuchi's eyes widened.
"Would he really dare to offend our Hidden Rock Village while already offending Konoha?"
Ōnoki sneered. "Of course he would!"
"At first, I thought all of his strength came from the Mangekyō Sharingan, but judging from his recent displays…"
"Kaede's physical strength alone rivals Tsunade, and the Fire Release and Earth Release he's shown are both immensely powerful."
"Even without the Mangekyō, his strength is already at the Kage level."
"If you add his space-time ability, there's no one in the ninja world who could stop his attack!"
Ōnoki chuckled. "It seems the ninja world will soon see the rise of a sixth great village!"
"Fortunately, Kaede left Konoha. Otherwise, Konoha would be suppressing us for decades again."
Originally, Ōnoki had thought that once Kaede's Mangekyō reached its limit, the Hidden Rock could easily make him submit.
But unexpectedly, even without the Mangekyō, Kaede remained an extremely powerful Kage-level fighter.
So he now decided to maintain friendly relations.
At least during this grand feast of carving up the Land of Fire, there must be no conflict with Kaede.
Later, once Kaede's Mangekyō burned out, he would be just another Kage-level enemy — no need to maintain such a relationship.
But Ōnoki could never understand the joy of someone whose growth defied logic — given time, the gap between them would only grow wider!
…
Elsewhere.
Kaede had already set out for the Land of Iron.
Naruto and Karin, two children of similar age, similar bloodline, and equally tragic pasts, quickly became good friends.
Kaede entrusted their current training to Tsunade.
With Tsunade's ability, both children could learn much, and she also possessed the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques passed down from Mito.
Leaving them in her care, Kaede felt no worry.
Rushing at full speed, Kaede soon entered the Land of Iron.
As a neutral country, the Land of Iron had been untouched by the war.
Without stopping at the martial arts halls scattered across the land, Kaede descended directly into the capital.
As the heart of the Land of Iron, nearly sixty percent of its strongest warriors were gathered there — including the recently appointed leader of the country and the strongest of all samurai: Mifune.
In the most prosperous and largest street of the capital, Kaede descended from the sky.
Countless eyes turned toward him.
Ignoring them, he raised his hand to his chest.
"Rise!"
Rumble!
A twenty-meter square stone platform rose under Kaede's feet, blocking the entire street.
"What's he doing?"
"With that kind of power, is he a ninja?"
"Damn it, a ninja dares to swagger into our Land of Iron!"
Anger and suspicion spread quickly.
Not just the city's samurai guard, but even the nearby martial arts halls would not tolerate such a scene.
Sure enough, groups of samurai rushed in from all directions.
With the ninja world war raging, such an incident in the capital could not be ignored.
But Kaede paid them no mind.
His chakra-laced voice rang across the entire city.
"I am Kaede. Today, I will take the Land of Iron!"
"Those who disagree — come and fight!"
The entire city erupted.
This man was too arrogant!
One person claiming he would conquer the entire Land of Iron?
"Kaede…"
Hearing the name, Mifune frowned deeply.
He had heard of this man — the one who had ignited the current ninja world war.
He had destroyed Konoha and taken the Hidden Waterfall Village in the Land of Reed.
"It seems trouble has arrived today."
Taking the sword beside him, Mifune stepped out with a solemn expression.
Meanwhile, countless warriors gathered below Kaede's platform.
The street was a chaos of noise — some questioned his purpose, others shouted at his arrogance.
Kaede ignored it all, eyes closed, waiting.
Once enough strong warriors had arrived, he finally opened his eyes and looked down.
With a slight smile, he said:
"Anyone who disagrees, come up. Of course…"
"If you're afraid, you can all come at once!"
That provocation ignited everyone's fury.
"I'll see what makes you so arrogant!"
A warrior stepped onto the platform, bowing formally with a samurai salute. "Kobuo Haruto of Sakura Hall!"
Kaede didn't return the gesture, simply resting his hand on his sword hilt.
"To convince you, I won't be holding back."
Kobuo gritted his teeth. "Hmph! Infuriating!"
He moved to draw his blade —
The next instant!
Boom!
A surge of overwhelming pressure burst forth, forcing Kobuo back.
In a heartbeat, he dropped to his knees!
His face flushed red, but he couldn't stand, couldn't even move a finger.
"Too weak," Kaede said, shaking his head.
"With that level, don't come up here to embarrass yourself."
Releasing more pressure, Kaede sent Kobuo flying off the platform.
"So strong!"
Below, the samurai's expressions grew solemn.
Kobuo was no weakling, yet he couldn't even draw his blade against this man.
"I'll try!"
A more confident warrior leapt up, resisting Kaede's pressure enough to draw his sword.
But the next moment—
Pfft!
He spat a mouthful of blood and collapsed, unconscious.
The samurai exchanged glances, and one shouted:
"All together!"
In a flash, over ten chakra-wielding samurai jumped onto the platform.
Together, they resisted Kaede's pressure and roared as they attacked.
"Get down!"
Kaede swung his sheathed blade in a sweeping arc, instantly blasting them off the platform.
He hadn't even drawn his sword.
Those who fell needed help just to stand.
Kaede sneered.
"So this is the extent of the Land of Iron?"
A hot-blooded young warrior could not endure the insult.
"The honor of a samurai cannot be trampled!" he roared. "Everyone, attack together!"
The stands around the platform bristled with killing intent.
Just as they were about to rush forward—
"Enough!"
A sharp voice halted them.
The samurai turned to see their leader, Mifune, approaching.
Walking forward with grave dignity, Mifune said:
"A samurai's honor does not depend on numbers. Defeat is defeat."
"The strength of a samurai lies in his will."
"If you cannot even find the courage to strike against this man's presence, your will is lacking!"
Finishing, he stepped onto the platform, unaffected by Kaede's pressure.
"Allow me to show you the unyielding will of a samurai!"
