Night of the Clan Massacre: Leading the Uchiha to Defect from Konoha!

Chapter 158: Gods Descend Upon the Land of Ancestors

He turned in disbelief to stare at Kaede.

"Impossible. How could you have followed me so quickly?"

No wonder Isshiki was stunned. His time-jumping relied on an Ōtsutsuki clan treasure—one powerful enough to pierce space itself. But every activation devoured a massive amount of power, so even he couldn't use it lightly.

Yet Kaede looked utterly unstrained, his aura unchanged.

"You talk too much. I'm done explaining. You've run again and again and made me play cat and mouse. My patience is gone. So—go die."

Flames descended once more.

This time Isshiki had spent everything. His lifespan could no longer support another escape. In agony, his will flickered—

It all happened in a flash.

Kaguya blinked at the scene, stunned.

Moments ago Isshiki had been the picture of cold, lofty superiority.

Now he died at her feet.

What shocked her even more was the man who'd appeared.

The power in this man eclipsed hers.

It eclipsed Isshiki's as well.

"You… who are you?" Kaguya's guard snapped up.

"I am Kaede."

"Kaede… I've never heard the name. Are you of this world, or from another?"

She had only just arrived on this planet. Though unfamiliar with it, Kaguya understood one thing: this world shouldn't yet be able to birth someone this strong.

"At least, not at this point in time."

"I'm not like you. I was born here. But I share your target—the Ōtsutsuki clan."

Kaede actually answered gently—because this was Kaguya.

For this world, Kaguya was the one who would protect it.

"Ōtsutsuki…" Kaguya studied him. Her wariness didn't fully fade. She could feel it clearly: the same kind of power—Shinju (Divine Tree)—also flowed inside this man.

If he intended to sacrifice the Shinju to harvest greater power…

Then they were enemies.

And once the Ōtsutsuki learned Isshiki had fallen, they would send more. She would have to face them all.

If this man spoke truth, he could be an ally.

If he lied, then he would be another foe.

"You don't have to trust me. But the Ōtsutsuki are my enemies as well. I will protect my people. If they descend, those I cherish will be harmed. Isshiki already reached for my clan—he meant to take my body to resurrect himself. I killed him for it. The Ōtsutsuki will do anything to grow a Shinju fruit from this world's life. I intend to guard this place. So the most important thing is that we work together."

Kaguya listened, half convinced—yet Isshiki had just died before her eyes.

That much was undeniable.

"If so, then I believe you. The Shinju is already planted, and I've eaten the fruit. What I must do next is unify this world as quickly as possible, so its power can be gathered under one order. If you truly mean to protect it—help me."

"I can. If that's the path, start with the small countries around us. There are no ninjutsu or chakra yet—most here are merely warriors. Conquest will be simple. For example, this little nation before us."

Kaede pointed ahead.

"Found a realm there. Call it the Land of Ancestors."

Even as he spoke, the disturbance had already alarmed the Land of Ancestors' army. They were hurrying this way.

"Fine," Kaguya said with a nod.

In an instant, soldiers ringed them in.

The lead man held a torch and a long sword, barking, "What was that shock just now? Was it you?"

He'd grown used to barking orders from on high. His tone didn't change at all as he scolded Kaguya and Kaede.

The next moment, Kaede stood before him.

His hand closed around the man's throat.

"A word of advice—mind your tongue. If I squeeze a little harder, you die."

Kaede's smile was cold.

"I—ghh—"

The soldier's face flushed purple. Just before he blacked out, Kaede flung him aside.

He tumbled across the dirt, skidding to a stop. Around him, soldiers panicked, drawing steel and leveling blades at Kaguya and Kaede.

"We are—" Kaguya began, wanting to speak gently.

Kaede lifted a hand to stop her. "We are kami—divine. Take us to your capital. And know this: if you try anything, I can end you all at any moment."

If they meant to unify the world, this nation had to submit first. The key was simple—make them believe the two of them were gods. Otherwise, mortals would overreach.

Lesson learned from experience.

"Kh… understood." The officer Kaede had tossed aside struggled up, trembling. He had felt that monstrous power up close. If the man had clenched down even a little harder…

He would be dead already.
