Chapter 292: Dusts
"Bye!" Coco waved goodbye to the coach man and Sinclair as they rolled away, her movements enthusiastic and cheerful.
"Have a good night, guys!" She called out, her arm extended outwards as she continued to wave enthusiastically.
The coach man smiled and nodded his acknowledgement of her cheerful bidding, raising his reins in a salute, while Sinclair gave her a small wave in response, a pleased and content smile on his face.
Coco's wave continued until the carriage was out of sight, her hand remaining in the air for a moment longer before she let it fall back to her side.
Sinclair merely went with her to drop them off to the house they will be staying at while they are in the main city so he knows where to go tomorrow and to see what kind of resident the first husband has under his name.
He was satisfied to see that Zaque at least had a decent house— that was much better than the house they have at Yogusho Village.
"Guess I'll be sending a few staff over to their house tomorrow to help dust off the place.. Master needs a clean house to sleep in after all." Sinclair mumbled, red eyes staring out of the carriage's window.
Meanwhile, back to Coco, who was smiling to herself as she rolled her shoulders and turned her gaze towards the gate of a grand house, her expression filled with curiosity and excitement.
She wasn't expecting Zaque to have a house this big in the main city!
Why would he let himself settle for a trashy woman like Coco Hughes if he has a house like this? If he was living back on Earth, he would become a man that women want and would drool for!
Coco let out a sigh, her attention went back to the gate, her gaze roaming over the details of the gate— its detailed carvings on the black metal frames and structure standing tall was an apple to the eye.
Once again, Coco took a deep breath before she pushed the gate open, the sound of the hinges creaking slightly and echoing in the night air as the metal moved aside.
She entered cautiously, footsteps light and careful, the crunch of gravel under her feet loud and clear as she walked past the threshold.
Once inside, she turned back and carefully shut the gate behind her, the sound of the latch clicking into place adding to the sense of security, and was quite loud, announcing to anyone nearby that she had locked the gates.
With the gate locked behind her, Coco turned her attention back to the path ahead, her gaze scanning over the surroundings around her, a sense of tranquility settling over her.
She paused for a moment, taking in the sight of the premises, but it was too dark for her to make out anything.
She hummed, despite the temptation to explore the surrounding grounds, Coco resisted the urge and made a beeline for the front door of the grand house.
The desire to explore the place was strong, but the need to check the interior of the house overpowered that desire so she approached the front door, her steps confident and quick, her focus solely on getting inside the house as soon as possible.
When Coco reached the entrance, she pushed the door open, the door creaking softly as it moved with her touch.
A gentle breeze passed through the crack in the door, the cool air filling the hallway and Come immediately stepped through the doorway, her gaze taking in the sight of the empty hallway before her.
The door clicked shut behind her, the sound quiet and barely stirring anything in her surroundings.
Coco was quick to notice that the hallway was covered in a thick layer of dust, the particles swirling in the air as she moved, disturbed by the passing of her feet.
It was clear that the house had been vacant for a long time, the thick layer of dust an indication of the neglect the house had suffered, the dust settled on every surface, coating everything in a thin layer of gray, and small spiders had made homes in some of the darker corners.
Though, despite the thick layer of dust that covered the hallway, Coco hummed to herself as she walked further down the hall.
The sound of laughter and conversation from one of the rooms ahead of her was muffled, the sounds growing slightly louder with each step she took, ignoring the layers of dust that covered everything.
Coco continued humming softly to herself as she walked through the dust-filled hallway, her footsteps stirring up small clouds of dust with every step.
She followed the sound of Zaque's voice, her eyes on the open door leading to a room that seemed to be the kitchen.
She pushed the door open, wider and as quietly as she could, but the hinges creaked with slight protest so that was a failure, and peered her head inside.
Coco scanned the kitchen for a good second, not stepping inside, before her eyes settled on the figure of Zaque who was methodically wiping the table's surface with a cloth that looked like it was slightly damp.
The others in the room were similarly focused, each working diligently at their task, the sound of their hushed voices and the occasional scrape of a chair filled the air.
With the four of them looking like they were busy, Coco slowly stepped back, deciding to just clean the bedroom on the second floor so once they're done, all they need to do is lay down and sleep.
However, as she slowly closed the door, Zaque suddenly perked up as if he had sensed her presence in the room.
His gaze shifted, his eyes meeting hers and a smile graced his face, and a hint of relief flickered in his expression as their gazes met, his attention shifting completely to her, his previous task forgotten.
"Coco?" Zaque called, getting the attention of others.
