New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 278: Frantic packing

"Where's my towel?! I can't find my towel, Zaque!"

"Where did you put my books, Quizen?!"

"Zaque! My robe is missing!"

"Heiren, I can't find my perfume! Have you seen it somewhere?!"

Zaque and Heiren stared at each other as they calmly took a sip from their respective teacups, the steam from tea forming a fog just below their nose.

"Quizen! Where are my books?!"

"I don't know! Can't you see that I'm also looking for some of my things?!"

"Not my fault when you're so reckless with your belongings!"

"Yeah, well, same goes for you!"

Once again, Zaque took a sip from his chamomile tea that Coco had bought for him a couple of days ago after she bought a lot of things while she was out with Heiren and Quizen.

"Heiren!"

"Zaque!"

The third and fourth husbands called out for the first and second husbands for the nth time that morning, the two mediators' heavy footsteps could be heard against the floorboards down to the first floor.

However, the red haired and the brown haired mediator continued drinking their tea, not bothering to answer the distressed calls of their friends.

The sun was barely up and yet the four of them were wide awake, all because today was the day they were supposed to leave for the main city— the city where all kinds of opportunities would be open for all of them to take.

"Zaque!"

"Heiren!"

Unfortunately, Zaque and Heiren believe that they would die from whatever's happening to Quizen Alhai first before they could step out of the house.

Wordlessly, Zaque rose from his seat and left his half finished tea on the table.

He slowly ascended the staircase, the wood creaking under his weight, and walked towards the third husband's bedroom door, which was already left ajar, then picked his head through the door.

"You called?" Zaque said, raising an eyebrow before scanning the messy room of the silver haired mediator.

"Finally!" Alhai whisked his body around and faced Zaque as soon as he heard him speak, "And yes! I called for you! Like eight times— but forget that! Help me find my books, please. They're missing!"

There was this look of insanity in Alhai's teal colored eyes as he pleaded with Zaque.

"What books are you looking for?" Zaque asked, pushing the door open and stepping inside the room, "What's the need of bringing your old books with us? Haven't you read those a hundred times already?"

"I'm not looking for my old books." Alhai sighed out, raising a hand and massaging the bridge of his nose, "I'm looking for the ones that Coco bought for me."

"Huh.. Why would those not be here? You refuse to let any of us borrow any of the books." Zaque pointed out, but he still started walking around the room, flipping through Alhai's already messy room to search for the said books.

"Exactly!" Alhai hissed, "I just know that Quizen took it, but he's not answering my questions!"

"Alright, alright, settle down." Zaque sighed deeply and shook his head, "Let's just look for it, okay? I'm done packing my things anyway. I'll just help you with yours."

Meanwhile, in the other room, inside of Quizen's room, was Heiren and Quizen rummaging through the blue haired mediator's closet to look for the missing robe and towel that he has been looking for a good while now.

"I swear I folded those, then put the towel and robe in there!" Quizen exclaimed, hissing the words under his breath.

"I get it." Heiren said, pulling a worn out shirt aside and checking if it was the robe the Quizen was talking about, "So, stop whining and continue looking for it."

"I am looking for it— ack! I still need to look for the perfume! I just bought it two days ago!" Quizen shrieked, pulling away from the closet and instead, started rushing towards his bedside table.

Heiren merely shook his head, but continued looking for the robe and towel, not caring if his arms were feeling tired from all the moving he was doing.

As soon as dinner was done last night, Heiren booked it and ran up to his room.

He didn't care nor answer when Quizen and Zaque called out to him, asking him if he was feeling good or sick, because he was already halfway done packing whatever he might need for the trip to the city.

The unexpected turn of events may have given him a whiplash, but it wasn't enough to make him feel dumbfounded until the next morning.

All he needed was one night to finish packing his things so now, he has enough time to help whoever needs his help.

Unfortunately for him, he was stuck helping the neediest and the whiniest out of four of them, and now, he felt like pulling a random robe out of his own closet just to give it to Quizen so he can stop crying.

However, he knows that the robe Quizen was looking for was the first robe that he bought for himself using the pocket money that Coco gave them.

So, Heiren knows how important that robe is to Quizen.

"Found it." Heiren called out to the fourth husband, pulling the green colored robe out of the drawer below the closet, "I don't know who put this in the socks drawer, but you should have checked here first."

"Oh, thank goodness!" Quizen shot up from his spot beside the drawers and snatched the robe from Heiren's hands, "I've been looking everywhere for you, my love!"

Heiren could only shake his head and moved onto the drawers, opting to find the perfume Quizen was looking for.

By the time Zaque and Heiren finished helping their friends out packing their things, the sun was already high up in the sky, indicating that it was almost time for lunch.

Just a little more..

"I hope she gets here soon." Zaque said under his breath, settling himself down on his usual seat on the dining table.
