Chapter 1: This is not my body

summary

Spider-Man of Earth-616 has died many times but he always comes back.

But this time was different, when he came back from the dead he found himself in A body that does not have its own, but carries the same name, and in a world was not his world, a world where there were no Avengers, no Fantastic Four, no Defenders, no X-Men, and no Mutants.

Yet this world contains Spiderman.

He is no longer Spider-Man or Peter Benjamin Parker of Earth 616.

He is now Peter Benjamin Parker of Earth-120703, known as The Amazing Spider-Man.

Pain

Pain was all that Peter Parker, known as Spider-Man, could feel. He felt as if every cell in his body was burning, like millions of ants were crawling over his skin.

He couldn't move his body; he felt as stiff as could be imagined. Under his breath, with sweat covering his face, he muttered, "I think I need some oil."

Several curses swirled in his mind, and he wished he had a healing factor.

It's funny - everyone thinks he has a healing factor, but he doesn't. All he has is accelerated healing, meaning he heals faster than the average person and nothing more.

Bit by bit, he started feeling his strength returning to his limbs, and he could move again. Slowly, he tried to get up from the bed where he currently lay.

He raised his hand slowly and rubbed his eyes. "I think I turned into a bloodstain in the street because of Morlun, that damn vampire. Next time, I'm going to sting him right in his fancy rear."

Suddenly, he closed his eyes and reopened them. "I take that back. It sounds like I just said something that Wade would be thrilled to hear."

He sighed, feeling relieved as his previously stiff body loosened up.

Slowly, he tried to get out of bed and looked around the room. Posters still hung on the walls, a desktop computer was off, magazines were scattered about, and there were many books.

It felt like his old teenage room, yet it also felt different, perhaps because it had a more rebellious touch.

He didn't know what had happened or how he got here, but he was certain he had died fighting Morlun, that damn vampire from some unknown century, with an old, wrinkled father and many siblings - one of whom looked like a hamburger with legs.

Their sole mission was to devour spiders across the multiverse, and apparently, he was their favorite meal, maybe because he was the center of the web. "No, I'm sure I am the center of the web."

He slowly got off the bed and looked to the side, feeling like he'd been swimming in the ocean in his clothes because he was drenched in sweat. "I hate water."

Oddly, water was one of his two weaknesses, though he had to admit there were more, like innocent civilians and young children

especially young children. "Do I sound like P Diddy when I think like this?"

He decided to ignore it, stripping off all his clothes, even his underwear, as he started feeling cold from the air hitting his sweat-covered body. "I just hope the person who brought me here doesn't mind."

With these words, he instinctively walked toward what seemed to be a connected bathroom, hoping he'd find some clothes after showering.

As soon as he opened the bathroom door and turned on the light, he found himself looking at a face that wasn't his.

He blinked twice to make sure, raising his hand slowly, and so did the person in the mirror.

"Aaaaaaaah!" Suddenly, he let out a deafening scream and fell back on his bare bottom.

"Peter... Peter... Peter... Peter, are you okay... Peter?" There was the sound of running and a voice calling his name.

Suddenly, the door opened, and he found himself looking at a woman in her forties, her mouth open as she looked at him, and he at her with wide eyes.

She was scanning him with her eyes in shock.

He suddenly remembered he was naked and covered himself with his hands, prompting her to snap out of her daze and leave the room, blushing. "Sorry, Peter."

Peter was breathing heavily, his chest heaving with his heart pounding. "This is not my body, Damn, damn, damn, damn. Why is this happening to me? Damn Parker luck, what have I gotten myself into?"

Suddenly, he felt pain in his head, making him hold it, as a flood of memories invaded his mind.

Memories that weren't his but were similar to his own life in many ways - yet not quite his life.

His childhood. His parents leaving him with his uncle and Aunt May, or Aunt May.

Growing up as a very intelligent bookworm obsessed with photography. A kid bullied at school, though he noticed that Flash wasn't as bad here.

Gwen Stacy, his secret love, with a few hidden pictures of her on his computer, making him feel like a stalker, though he felt genuine feelings for her.

Going to Oscorp and being bitten by the spider.

The anger he felt toward his uncle for trying to lecture him, how he went out at night, how he let that robber go, and how it led to his uncle's death.

In his original life, he never saw his uncle's body, but he was notified after returning home from wrestling practice.

It was different this time. He saw the body, spoke to him in his final moments, held his wound to stop the bleeding, which had a profound effect on the teenage boy.

How he blamed himself after the police showed him a sketch of the robber and identified him, leading him to depression.

He knew his powers were tied to his emotions, and the grief and sadness the teenage boy felt, knowing he had the power to stop the thief but couldn't, drove him to attempt suicide.

Even his accelerated healing couldn't save him in time.

Suddenly, he lay on his back, staring at the ceiling. "Damn, that was a lot."

He quickly got up and returned to the bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror and holding his face in his hand.

"I'm in a body that isn't mine - Peter Parker's younger body, who recently got his powers and ended his life because of overwhelming grief."

"Gwen is still alive, Aunt May is younger and not an old woman who looks like she's seen everything in the world.

I also died fighting Morlun, and it seems like I've been given a second chance in a younger Peter Parker's body."

Peter looked up at the bathroom ceiling and sighed.

"Goodness, if I hadn't seen wonders in my world, I would've had a heart attack or stroke from all this pain. They make it seem easy in those fantasy stories, forgetting that they've never seen anything supernatural before."

Peter, in his bare body, sat on the closed toilet seat. "Should I find a way back to my own world, or should I start a new life here in this body? But no one's waiting for me - Aunt May from my world died last year from cancer, Teresa doesn't care for me, Ben's gone"

"and so is Ken. He doesn't want me interfering in his life, fearing the damn Parker luck that seems to only haunt me."

He sighed again, too tired to even feel angry about his situation.

"Good heavens, universe, if you're playing another trick on me, you're as cruel as ever, but you've definitely upped the game."

Peter closed his eyes and slipped into deep thought.

After a few moments, he opened his eyes. "I guess I'll just go with the flow."

Suddenly, he felt a shiver run through his body from the cold and the open bathroom door. "I'd better shower and go explain things to May."

" I doubt she was thrilled to see her late husband's nephew naked."
