Netori: Reborn as the Human Aphrodisiac

Chapter 95: Ba'al Agan Surrenders!

Leaving a cum-drunk Cassandra in his bed, Mithras got dressed, exiting the Astalon domain during the night.

'500 million. The reward for forming a Bond of Steel and Iron with Ishtar…was over 500 million—singlehandedly enough to buy most divine artifacts. Why does that make me feel so restless? Even the rewards for Akamana and Elektra were nowhere near this busted. Lord…what are you trying to tell me?' Mithras scratched his head.

It was indeed incomprehensible. Not only did Ishtar bring an astronomical number of Ero Points, but she also added a pair of saint-class Item Cards to Mithras' stock. Each with a value that approached the 100 million mark.

Although Mithras had yet to forge a Bond of Steel and Iron with Elektra and Akamana, there was no way either one could add so many boons to the system in one go. At least, Mithras didn't think so.

Too much is as bad as not enough. For the system to reward Mithras so heavily made the youth feel that the Lord was trying to give him a critical piece of info. But what?

'Oh well, if you know, you know. If you don't, you don't. Stressing over things you can neither control nor make sense of is a recipe for a lifetime of depression. Let's just enjoy the moment.' Mithras tried to let it go—easier said than done.

The Wisdom of the Slithering Emperor refused to stop analyzing, a sense of foreboding creeping over our favorite aphrodisiac's back as he left the capital—heading towards a secret location. It didn't help that since his reunion with Ishtar, Mithras had the feeling he'd forgotten something important.

At that time…

[Ding! Ding! Ding!]

[The Host is overthinking and has triggered the Lord's advice]

"Hello Mithras, long time no talk." The Lord's austere yet refreshing voice echoed in Mithras' mind, and he dropped to his knees, throwing his hands at the sky.

"LORD! I missed you!" Mithras burst into tears, overwhelmed by a tide of warm emotions.

In this new timeline, since Arian never existed, Mithras wasn't murdered. Instead dying from the Sid Disease. But three days later, the Lord brought him back—pissing off the Weaver while showing Mithras the love that his dog of a father was too broken to give.

Gratitude is Mithras' first quality. So how could he not love the Lord?

"Mhm…okay? I didn't expect such a warm welcome.

Hum! Hum! Mithras, my dear child, first I'd like to say thank you. You've exceeded all my expectations and provided me with no end of entertainment. I'm very pleased and proud of you.

With that said, why are you so worried about a measly reward? I'm the one who decides how much you should receive. I can update everything whenever I feel like it. So, when it comes to your rewards, it's never about the others, but always about me and how I feel about them." The Lord started, making Mithras return to seriousness.

"I will not go into the specifics, but that bond is worth at least that much. Truth be told, it should have been 50 billion. But I didn't want to kill your drive to excel so I had to control myself. Don't overthink it. There is no one in this world who loves you more than Ishtar.

For you…she'd go from the sweetest of angels to the greatest of monsters—slaying all in her path, her parents included, if that's what it'd take to keep you safe." The Lord added, making Mithras realize that he'd just missed out on 49.5 billion Ero Points!

AAARGH!

"Oh nonono, I wasn't doubting my sis. I was doubting you. My sis is bae, but who knows what plot you have in mind for me? You can be so naughty sometimes." Mithras clapped back, suppressing the agony in his chest.

"By the way, Lord, are you a guy?"

"What kind of question is that? Are you not hearing a man's voice?"

"That doesn't mean anything, according to Vel, even Akamana has the bad habit of hiding her real voice and appearance for reasons she keeps to herself. The Lord is supposedly omnipotent, and no doubt the universe's most powerful entity.

That you change your voice and appearance for whatever reason would be the least surprising thing I've heard this week." Mithras wouldn't let go that easily, his eyes narrowing at the sky with a suspicious look.

"Well…only the First Devotee can see the Lord's face. Not even the other members of the Triumvirate have the right. As for the voice…does it matter?" The Lord asked in a rhetorical tone, making Mithras shrug with an eye roll.

"Well, now no…cause I love you anyway."

"Gay." The Lord said before disconnecting from the system.

"Oh, crap I forgot the 'no homo.' You always gotta say 'no homo.' Otherwise, how does the Lord know you're not homo—not that there's anything wrong with it!

Preferences, preferences! Please don't sue me!" Fearing that his cultured bros would misunderstand his words, Mithras panicked—unaware that in a distant plane, a white-haired figure burst into laughter.

"By the way, Mithras, I have a question. In victory, you praise my name. Yet in struggle or suffering you do not curse me. Why?" The Lord returned because why not, asking Mithras a question they always had on their mind.

"Why should I curse you? I don't know your position or difficulties. I don't even know if you're really omnipotent. That's just something a man wrote in a book and asked me to believe.

Truth be told, I don't care. Just knowing that there's someone out there willing to help me for no reason is enough for me to love them to death. Cause let's face it. My prayers are not paying your bills...if you have any.

Whatever you're doing for me, you do out of the kindness of your heart. So even if at the end of it all I lose everything, my life included, I will not blame you. Because without you to give me a second chance…I would have never gotten the chance to experience half the wonders that I did.

Life is the first of all blessings. So, thank you Lord for giving me back my life. I love you to death—no homo!" Mithras aimed his fist at the sky, but the Lord didn't answer—this time gone for good.

Little did the Human Aphrodisiac know that as his words trailed off, a white-haired figure held their face, trying to hide the tears that flowed from their eyes and dropped nonstop.

Another white-haired figure stood a step behind them, sighing as they threw their head back.

"So be it. Mithras…I admit defeat. Though I can give up my life, love and blood for the Lord…my senseless devotion still can't compete…with the beauty of your love.

You are indeed worthy of being…the Sun," the man said, bowing at the Lord, and vanishing subsequently.

In that instant, a robotic voice oddly similar to the system echoed throughout the Higher Planes, giving an unprecedented announcement.

[Ba'al Agan…has been dethroned!]

The voice said, and the moment next, the Higher Planes…went into a frenzy—kickstarting a series of event that Mithras wouldn't have to worry about for a very, very long time.
