Naruto's Hashira Journey

(A few days later)

It's been days since the whole Mizuki case. Iruma has recovered and the Scroll of Seals is back to where it belongs. Right now Naruto is on top of the Hokage Mansion with the camera man getting ready to take his picture for his ninja yearbook page

"Alrighty, look towards the camera and say "cheese!" The camera man said as he press the shutter button

'KLAK'

Scene changes to the academy, Naruto inside a room as Hiruzen reviews his yearbook page

"*Chuckles* Fresh out of the academy and you have already done your first A rank mission" said Hiruzen

"Thank you, Jiji. I'm glad that Iruka-sensei is all right" said Naruto

"I'm proud that you have saved Iruka from further harm. Keep this up and train hard, you will be a fine shinobi for the village" Hiruzen said with pride as he smiles

Naruto nodded "I won't let you down! And I'm just a step closer to my goal!" He said as he responded with a smile

As Hiruzen was about to continue. The door was suddenly slammed opened and in comes a boy

"Fight me, old man!" The boy said as he entered, sprinting towards Hiruzen with a shuriken in hand

Naruto wide-eyed at the boys sudden appearance

Hiruzen just sighed and fixed his hat 'This again?' he thought as he knew who this was

"This time I'll win and become the Fifth Hokage-" the boy was cut off as he tripped in-between Hiruzen and Naruto

"Owww~~~!" Cried the boy

"..."

"..."

Both dumbfounded on what just happened

"Damn it! Who set up a trap?!" The boy grunted, with his hand on his head

Then a man appeared by the doorway

"Are you all right? Honourable grandson. May I inform you that there aren't any traps..." He said as he adjusts his sunglasses

'Who's this kid?' Naruto thought

Hiruzen knew what he was thinking. He coughed and said

"Naruto, this is Konohamaru my grandson and this is Ebisu his tutor" Hiruzen introduces them

Both Ebisu and Konohamaru looked towards Naruto as they heard Hiruzen

'I know this kid... He's Naruto Uzumaki. The nine tailed boy!' said Ebisu in thought

'According to the rumors I've heard he has earned 'Rookie of the year' and is top of his class in the academy. Some say that it's from the nine tails itself but others say it was from sheer hard work.'

Ebisu shook his head 'I won't believe the rumours and assumed it's from the nine tails but what others say he was just a boy who would reach out to help others. I will watch him carefully and determine whether the rumours are right or wrong' he said in thought, adjusting his sunglasses

Konohamaru approached Naruto and said

"Hey! You must've done something for me trip didn't you!" He said accusingly

"You tripped on your own" said Naruto deadpanned

Konohamaru continues to accuse him while Ebisu is apologising to Hiruzen

"Hokage-sama forgive me for not stopping him and bursting through the door while you were in the middle of something" he said while bowing

"*Sigh* Don't worry Ebisu I'm not mad. But someone is"

Ebisu confused, Hiruzen pointed in front of him and Ebisu followed where the Hokage is pointing and saw Konohamaru still accusing Naruto, while Naruto's left eye is twitching and veins bulging showing how angry Naruto is getting

Having enough he grabbed Konohamaru by the collar and lifted him up. His eyes shadowed, took a deep breath and looked at him with his eyes closed, scarily smiled and said

"Would you please... shut your goddamn mouth and listen" he said in a calm tone but with the way his veins are bulging and smiling at him. Konohamaru couldn't do nothing but nod fearfully

"H-hey wait please don't do something brash. He's the Hokage's grandson" Ebisu said sensing the tension and tried to calm things down

Naruto slowly turned his head towards Ebisu, directing his "smile" to him

"Huh?" He said angrily while smiling

He flinched at this, before Ebisu could say anything Hiruzen intervenes

"*Cough* Naruto please let go of Konohamaru, and Konohamaru apologize to him" Hiruzen said

Naruto and Konohamaru looked at each other. He flicked Konohamaru's forehead resulting a painful yelp

"Just because you're the Hokage's grandson, doesn't mean you have to act like a spoiled brat. Next time be kind and don't blindly accuse someone else, that clear?~" he said, eyes now opened while smiling as he gently put him down

Konohamaru fully terrified, immediately bowed with tears on his eyes

"Yes! I'm sorry, please forgive my rudeness!"

Naruto finally calmed down, accepted his apology

"Well Jiji, is there anything else to talk about?"

"Oh right here's your reward for the mission and go back home. Tomorrow you will wait for your team selection and Jonin sensei" Hiruzen said, as he hands Naruto the reward money

Naruto took it and bids them farewell, as he closed the door behind him

"I forgot to tell you... that he's short-tempered, good thing he didn't start yelling" Hiruzen lately added as he lights up his pipe

"YOU'RE JUST TELLING US THAT NOW?!!" both Ebisu and Konohamaru screamed

/Last but not the least is the shadow clone jutsu. This jutsu allows the user to create one or more copies of themselves. The user's chakra is evenly divided between themselves and their clones. The Multiple Shadow Clone Technique which creates hundreds of clones to the standard version's dozens is unsafe to the point of being forbidden/

'Huh... So that's why'

/Don't worry Host. Your chakra reserves are large, hence you are safe by summoning multiple shadow clones without worry/

He nodded and continued to listen

/...Unlike the basic Clone Jutsu, shadow clones are physically real. They possess the same clothing, damage, and transformations as the user at the time of their creation. Most tools and weaponry are copied when the shadow clones are created. Once dispersed, the clone's experiences and remaining chakra are transferred back to the user. He continued this for a few minutes as he finally eased off. He layed down on his bed and stared at the ceiling thinking on what to do next since the team formation would be tomorrow

"The Jutsu itself is amazing and powerful if used right... But still it would've made things easy..." He said

Couldn't think of anything else, he grabbed his katana and went outside, goes straight to Ichiraku ramen

(Time skip no Jutsu)

Inside Ichiraku ramen sat a boy at the counter, furiously slurping his 6th bowl of ramen. He didn't notice Ayame and Teuchi looking at him worried

"I wonder what caused Naruto to be in this kind of mood" Teuchi whispered to his daughter

"I don't know, but you should give him another ramen dad, cause I think he's about to eat the bowl" she whispered back looking at Naruto

He nodded and prepared another one for the angry blonde

Ayame seeing her dad going back to the kitchen she struck a conversation with Naruto

"So... Naruto, what's gotten into you today?"

Naruto heard that and sighed heavily. He looked at Ayame and dryly said

"Nothing, don't worry about it"

"?" Ayame sported a confused look

"Uhh... Ok?" She said

Naruto continued to look at her and said

"Don't worry about it" he repeated

Before she could ask more, Teuchi came back with a new bowl of ramen with him

"Here ya go Naruto! Enjoy!" He said, as he hands it to Naruto, much to his delight

Naruto thanked him and continued to devour the 7th bowl of ramen. He heard a notification and look at the panel

Start training on Thunder breathing

He looked at it and dismissed the panel as he knows what to do later

He finished eating the last bowl, he got up and paid it all and starts walking towards the training grounds

(Training grounds)

Once he is in a open area he weaved the hand sign and yelled

"Kage bunshin no Jutsu!"

He summoned 5 clones as he looked at them

"I should test this first before going for more clones"

He ordered the clones to start training Thunder breathing with him

He inhaled deeply and putting more strength towards his legs. In a Iaido stance, he focused his attention on a tree as other clones did with their own individual tree

He dashed and quickly striked the tree, a diagonal slash mark appeared at the tree. He continued doing this as the shadow clones did the same

Whenever he cut off the tree he moved to the next one as the clones did the same

He stood on one side in a Iaido stance as two shadow clones stood at the other and started throwing rocks at him in order to accurately cut them when it reached his range

He did this for 50 minutes, covered in bruises due to missing some of them but was doing okay

He looked towards the remaining three shadow clones and noticed their speed increased and their cuts stronger. He dispelled them and suddenly got a headache, it wasn't severe but irritating

He shocked his head and sat down for a while, resting under a tree untouched by the clones

'System what just happened just now?' he asked

/That Host would be the training experience of the shadow clones that you have absorbed/

He stood up and started summoning more shadow clones

"Tajū kage bunshin no Jutsu!"

He summoned 50 shadow clones, he still felt fine

'must be my large chakra reserves' he thought

He started training like hell, pushing the shadow clones and his to the limit

He increased his weights to 45kg and started training again

Swing after swing, clones running to the max, rocks throwed. Naruto started to feel strained on his legs, he could feel his leg muscles aching in pain, his calves threatening to tear themselves.

He looked towards the shadow clones about to throw rocks aimed at his face. He steady his breathing, shifts his stance and waited. The clones threw the rocks as hard as they can as it appears as a blur

Time started seemingly to slow down as Naruto saw the rock about to reach him

With lightning reflexes he quickly drew his katana and sliced the first rock, then he swung towards the second and to the next

His slashes became a blur, rocks sliced in half of such precision. As the last of the rocks had been sliced in half, he builds up strength and chakra on his legs, with a burst of speed he rushes forward as lightning trails behind him, he appears behind his clones crouched as he slowly sheaths his katana

*Clink*

*Poof*

As he fully sheathes his katana all of the clones that were throwing at him disappeared

(The next day)

Naruto sat on his seat and waited for Iruka. He is in a conversation with Shikamaru and Choji

"I wonder if we would be in the same team" Naruto said

"*Sigh*... I doubt that" Shikamaru lazily replied, resting his head on his hand

"Hm... Why's that?" Naruto asked

"Cause I already know who will be my teammates. It's me, Choji and Ino..." He said as he yawned

"*Munch* *Munch* It's cause three of our clans have formed the Ino-Shika-Chō squad. It's basically tradition to our three clans, that's what my dad told me" Choji said, as he opened another bag of chips

"Haahh...bummer" Naruto sulked, but he immediately smiled and said

"But still!, we can still meet up on our free time!" he said smiling

"Geez man can you not shout, when I'm near you" Shikamaru said as he digs his ear

"*Nod* I would like that. Hey after this let's get some barbecue" Choji offered

"Sure let's do that!" Naruto happily respond. Making Shikamaru flinched at the sudden loudness from their reddish blond friend

"What a drag... Sure, I'll tag along"

As their conversation ended a platinum blonde girl joined in the group

"Hey! Shikamaru, Choji, Naruto!"

"Yo, Ino" Shikamaru said

"*Munch* *Munch* Hey there, Ino" Choji greeted back as he continued to munch on the chips

"Hello, Ino-san!" Naruto greeted her

Ino here was Naruto's first fangirl ever since he helped her from getting harassed by some guys on her way home. She and her dad were thankful to him, she developed a small crush on him, a small blush here and there but mostly admiration not like some obsessive, loud pink haired girl

They heard Sasuke's fangirls squeal, the loudest was Sakura, they saw Sasuke just sitting there being a total edge lord

"Didn't you, you know like Sasuke, Ino?" Choji said

"Hmph, Naruto is way cooler than Sasuke. Sakura can have him, I could care less" she stated, as she crossed her arms

"Thank you for your compliment, Ino-san" Naruto thanked her with his usual smile

Ino got happy as she smiled back, Choji just continued to eat, while Shikamaru sighed and said in thought

'Women...'

Suddenly they heard an argument at the middle second top row between Sakura and a boy named Kenzo

"Kenzo move your ass! I want to sit next to Sasuke-kun!" She demanded

"Huh! No way, I ain't giving up my seat just so you can seat beside him!" He exclaimed

"Sasuke-kun!~, can I sit next to you?!" She said, ignoring Kenzo as she tried to push him aside

"Hey! Get off me!"

They continue to argue as the group watched them. Naruto wanted to go there and de-escalate the situation when suddenly someone bumped hard into Kenzo, he suddenly fell towards Sasuke then...

They accidentally kissed. Everyone around them including the group stood still surprised , so shocked on what has happened

"Well... That was unexpected" Shino said

The two boys immediately started to spit out the mixed saliva in their mouths. The fangirls weren't pleased as they started shouting at Kenzo

Kenzo suddenly sensed something bad as if someone is looking at him madly. He looked behind him and saw Sakura with a dark look on her face and cracked her knuckles

Needless to say Sakura beat him up to the point making his face unrecognisable

The group just stared and just ignored it, went back to their seats and waited for Iruka

'Goddammit!, this is so humiliating. Surely things can't get worse" Sasuke thought, as he cleans his mouth

It gets worse...

Sasuke looked up and saw Naruto staring at him with an unreadable expression

'Wait why is he looking at me like that?' he thought

Naruto leaned forward and whispered to him

"Sasuke, I didn't know you were into men" Naruto whispered to him

His eyes widened in disbelief, of all things he didn't expect Naruto, his rival to assume he is into men. It was like a bomb went off in his head. He tried to explain but was cut off

"It's alright. I won't judge you. It's ok to be attracted to men if that's what you prefer. I will still support you and your new tastes" Naruto said

Sasuke's world shatters, jawdrop on what he heard. He tried to clear the misunderstanding

"No W-wait, Naruto everything was just an accident, an accident really" he tried to convince him but saw Naruto's supportive smile and a thumbs up from him

As if thunder struck him, he still tried to clear up the misunderstanding, restoring his image from his rival, frantically claim it was an accident. Then Iruka finally arrived and told the class to settle down

As Iruka is explaining, Sasuke looked dead as he failed to restore his image from his rival. Naruto's words echoed in his head. He looked at where Kenzo is now seated, he glared daggers at him for the cause of the incident. Even worse he hears Kiba snickered behind him and called him "Sasugay" with a bunch of guys quietly chuckling, to which worsens his mood

"Now... You will soon be assigned duties by the village. So today we will be creating the 3 man teams... And each team will have a Jonin sensei. You will follow that sensei's instructions as you complete the assigned duties" Iruka explained

'I have to be with Sasuke-kun!!!' Sakura thought

'Ok... I'm fine if I got partnered with Naruto, he's the only one here worthy to give me a challenge. As long it's not Kiba' Sasuke thought, now back to his regular self.

'I h-hope I'm in N-naruto-kun's team' Hinata shyly thought

Naruto and the others just nodded on what Iruka said

"All right I will say your name and your team" Iruka announced

A couple minutes later

"Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akamichi, and Ino Yamanaka. You three are team 10, under Asuma Sarutobi. Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame. You are on team 8, under Kurenai Yuhi. And lastly Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. You are on team 7, under Kakashi Hatake..." Iruka finished announcing the selective teams

Everyone seemed fine with it, Shikamaru muttered "knew it..."

Hinata looked upset that she wasn't on Naruto's team

"Hinata!"

She heard, looked up and saw Naruto

"Good luck!" He said towards her with a smile

She immediately went beet red and shyly nodded as steam started to come out of her ears

"T-thank y-you, Naruto-kun" she said

" Ok, later we will introduce your Jonin sensei's after break"

After break all students saw their selective Jonin sensei's and left with them

Naruto waved goodbye to Shikamaru and the others as they follow their Sensei

Now the only ones left in the room are team 7. Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto

They waited for an hour for their Sensei but their patience is running thin

Sakura tapping her foot as she waited tirelessly, Sasuke unfazed but was secretly impatient to their Sensei's tardiness, even Naruto was also impatient, even though he is smiling his veins bulging on his forehead was a dead give away on how mad he is

After a few minutes more the door opens and in comes a man with spiky silver hair, his forehead protector covering his left eye and wearing a mask, long sleeved shirt, a flack jacket, dark blue pants, and finger less gloves

As soon as he entered he looked at them for a minute with a bored look

Sakura couldn't hold it

"YOU'RE LATE!" She shouted

"Sorry, I got lost in the road of life" that was his excuse

'I have never heard such bullshit in my life' Naruto thought

'This is really a Jonin? He doesn't seem very reliable...' Sasuke thought disappointed

"Hmm... My first impression to you guys are ok"

Kakashi lazily said with his hand on his chin

"All right meet me at the roof" he said as he shunshined

(A few minutes later)

At the roof all of them sat and Kakashi started

"Ok... Let's begin some introductions. Say your likes, dislikes, dreams for the future, hobbies stuff like that" he said

"How about you go first Sensei" Sakura said

"Ohh..... Me? My name is Kakashi Hatake. I have no desire to tell you guys my likes and dislikes. Dreams for the future?.... Hmm... Well, I have lots of hobbies...."

'All you said is your name' the three of them thought disappointed

"All right your turn pinkie"

Sakura frowned at the nickname and started

"Sakura Haruno, the thing I like is... Well the person I like is... Ummm.... Should I say my dream for the future?... Kyaahh!!"she said while looking at sasuke as she blushes

'great I got fangirl on the team' kakashi thought with a blank look

"You next edge lord"

Sasuke narrowed his eyes and said

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. There are a ton of things I dislike but I don't really like anything. And... I don't want to use the word "dream" but... I have an ambition. To restore my clan and... To kill a certain man" Sasuke said

'cool~' Sakura blushed

Naruto remained silent and thought 'is this a declaration of revenge?'

'...I thought so...' kakashi thought

"Ok, blondie you're the last" kakashi pointed at Naruto

" My name is Naruto Uzumaki. My likes are ramen, training, and my friends. I dislike being pestered. My hobbies are... Well... I don't have lots of hobbies but I like hanging out with Shikamaru and Choji. My dream for the future... Is to be acknowledged and be strong... Becoming the Hokage and the strongest swordsman! Dattebayo!" He said

Sasuke looked in interest, Sakura stunned on what he's said, Kakashi looked at Naruto and saw someone behind him, a red haired woman and a blonde man

'Kushina-san, Sensei...' he thought somberly

"Those are some big words kid but can you back them up?" He questioned

Naruto grinned and said "Watch me!"

'If his goal is to be Hokage and a strong swordsman, well he's got a long way to go for that dream'

"Ok!! Now that's over, we will start our test tomorrow. We will be doing Survival training"

The three of them surprised at this and Sakura asked

"Survival training? And what test? We already graduated from the academy "

"Oh no~... This ain't your normal test where you just pass a score on paper"

Kakashi then turned serious appeared intimidating to them as his face darkens

"Out of all 27 graduates, only 9 would pass and be chosen as genin. The rest will go back to the academy. This test is super difficult with a failure rate of 66%"

Sasuke frowned at his words, Sakura immediately got scared and Naruto thought

'he might be just scaring us, this might be a lie... or not' he thought

"What! But we just became genin, you can't do that!" Sakura shouted

"Oh~ but I can, I have failed so many students and sent them back to the academy just for failing this test of mine" kakashi said

Now three of them are on edge on what has said

"Details can be read on this print out. Be there early, Don't be late. Oh and don't eat breakfast" he said as he disappeared

All three of them stood there for a second. Naruto was the first to start leaving the roof

"Well looks like we have to give our all and pass Kakashi-sensei's test! Best of luck to you two!" He bid them farewell and started going home

Sasuke and Sakura looked at the spot Naruto was and they both started leaving

'He's right, I need to pass this. I'm one step closer to kill that man!' Sasuke thought, with determination in his eyes

'i can't drag my team down!' Sakura thought
