Chapter 485: Chapter 485: Reiki's Decision
Hearing Tsunade's concern, Reiki fell silent. His thoughts wandered back to the Infinite Tsukuyomi, a plan implemented by Kaguya Otsutsuki in the original timeline. She used the Chakra Sacred Tree to trap everyone, ostensibly to turn them into nourishment for the tree. But what was her true purpose?
Kaguya's time in the original storyline had been fleeting. Despite the intensity of Naruto and Sasuke's battle with her, it lasted less than a day—much shorter than previous conflicts. She had barely begun to act before being sealed away again.
Reiki recalled his encounter with Otsutsuki Hagoromo, who had explained their contingency plan: to release Kaguya as bait to lure out the Otsutsuki clan, using the ninja world's combined might to bury them. But now, with Otsutsuki Ishiki defeated, that plan seemed unnecessary.
Still, the question lingered: What would Kaguya do now, in a world where Ishiki no longer existed? Would her motives change, or would she still pose a threat?
"I can't be certain," Reiki admitted, shaking his head.
Tsunade sighed but smiled reassuringly. "Do what you believe is right. Don't worry—you'll always have my support."
"Thank you, teacher," Reiki said with a grin. "By the way, where are Nozuki and the others—"
"Boom!"
Reiki was cut off as a heavy punch sent him sprawling.
"You still know how to come back?!" Nozuki yelled, her fists flying in a blur of afterimages. "Do you know how much we searched for you? Shisui and I even dug through the ruins of Rouran looking for you!"
"Ow, ow—I'm sorry!" Reiki groaned as Nozuki's punches drove him several meters into the ground.
"Next time, tell us where you're going!" she huffed, finally stopping when she ran out of energy.
"Okay, okay, I'll let you know next time," Reiki said, crawling out of the crater.
Shisui watched from the sidelines, smirking as he muttered, "At least she left something of him intact."
Nozuki's mood shifted instantly when Reiki mentioned the moon. "You found a teleportation array to the moon?! Take me with you next time!" she exclaimed, grabbing his arm eagerly.
"Fine, fine," Reiki relented. "But you and Shisui should rest. I'm going to take a break too."
Before Reiki could say more, the pair vanished.
Reiki turned to Tsunade, looking puzzled. "Why did they leave so quickly? They used to love training with me."
Tsunade smirked. "After seeing the power you displayed against Otsutsuki Ishiki, do you really think they'll want to spar with you anymore? Especially after Nozuki just pummeled you and realized you might get revenge?"
"Fair point," Reiki muttered sheepishly.
"I have something else to tell you," he said, his tone serious. "Now that Ishiki is defeated, I'm ready to move on to freeing Kaguya Otsutsuki. If she proves hostile to the ninja world, I have a way to seal her again."
Tsunade's expression darkened. "You're talking about the Senluo Ban, aren't you?"
Reiki nodded. "Not exactly. This isn't the same technique Madara-sama and Hashirama-sama used. Otsutsuki Hagoromo entrusted me with a sealing method specifically for Kaguya. I've already tested it."
He raised his hands, revealing Yin and Yang seals glowing faintly on his palms.
Tsunade stared, her worry evident. "Reiki, this is dangerous. Kaguya is unlike any enemy we've faced. If she turns on us…"
"I understand, teacher," Reiki said firmly. "But I'm confident in my ability to handle her. And if she can help protect the ninja world from the Otsutsuki clan, it's worth the risk."
Tsunade hesitated, then nodded. "Just… be careful. Don't take unnecessary risks."
The next morning, Reiki left Tsunade's tent, exhausted but determined. Returning to his room, he found it clean and well-maintained despite his absence. He smiled, knowing Nozuki and another close companion must have taken care of it.
"Beasts," he muttered under his breath, shaking his head before collapsing into bed.
When Nozuki and Shisui returned later, they found Reiki fast asleep, a contented smile on his face. Quietly, they settled on either side of him, sharing a peaceful moment.
The following day, Reiki headed to the training ground.
"Reiki's back!" someone shouted.
The other ninja trainees gathered, their curiosity and fear mixing as they approached him.
"Should we… challenge him?"
"No way! Did you see what he did to Otsutsuki Ishiki? He'll kill us!"
"Come on! He's a medical ninja—he can heal us if we get hurt!"
"Fine! Let's go!"
Moments later, the trainees attacked.
Two hours later, Reiki stood among a pile of groaning bodies, treating their injuries with practiced ease.
From the sidelines, one young ninja muttered, "They call him a medical ninja?!"
Another sighed, "This guy's a monster…"
Reiki chuckled, healing another bruised trainee. "Come on, don't look so down. This is just training."
But deep inside, Reiki knew the truth: training would only get harder. The ninja world's challenges were far from over, and Kaguya's release would test their unity and resolve like never before.
