Chapter 465: Chapter 465: The Five Kage Summit, The End of the Story
Chapter 465: The Five Kage Summit, The End of the Story
In the Land of Rain after the war, when Haneda lifted the Infinite Tsukuyomi, all those trapped in the void of dreams awakened.
The Land of Rain, ravaged by the great war, was full of scars, with smoke lingering from the explosion of countless explosive tags.
Mixed with the smoky air was a faint scent of blood, reminding people of the previous carnage.
Ninjas landed steadily from the trees, some looking at their bloodstained hands in confusion, while others glanced warily at their companions and ninjas from other villages.
Despite the war's end, the five great nations hadn't been scared into peace by the conflict.
In the broad perception, ninjas were merely tools for killing and carrying out missions.
Until the leaders spoke, enemies remained enemies.
But as familiar faces returned, this eerie calm was shattered.
Those who had died in the war—friends, companions, brothers, and loved ones—reappeared.
In the end, ninjas were still human, and the battlefield suddenly became lively and harmonious.
On a hill in the Land of Rain, Haneda, having just performed the Rinne Rebirth, gazed at the scene before him.
After a moment, he turned to the five approaching Kage and asked gently:
"The war isn't over yet. I want to know what you seek to gain from it?"
The Fourth Raikage, bold and unafraid of Haneda, spoke bluntly:
"Is this why you called us here? Our demands from the Hidden Cloud are simple! Resources! Resources! Resources! And more resources!"
"We in the Land of Lightning don't have the wealthy conditions of your Land of Fire!"
Haneda asked again, "Anything else?"
The Fourth Raikage didn't know Haneda's intentions but decided to push further:
"We need land to sustain ourselves!"
"The mountains only provide wild game, and most people can't even fill their stomachs! You, Uchiha Haneda, should have visited the Land of Lightning, right?"
"It's all mountains as far as the eye can see, with very little arable land! The highlands are just for grazing cattle and sheep—how many people can that feed?"
Haneda nodded, "Yes, indeed. And to supply the Hidden Cloud Village, you raid other nations, especially the Land of Fire, a rich and abundant place."
The Fourth Raikage fell silent, fearing Haneda might destroy the Land of Lightning with a Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion or lift the Hidden Cloud into the sky with a Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion.
Haneda turned to the glaring Kurotsuchi, the Tsuchikage.
During the war, Onoki had been stripped of the Tailed Beast, and Kurotsuchi was hastily pushed into the role of Tsuchikage.
Still, Kurotsuchi barely qualified as Tsuchikage, at least refraining from cursing him outright.
Haneda asked, "And you, Lord Tsuchikage?"
Kurotsuchi, full of anger, retorted, "How dare you ask, Uchiha Haneda?"
"You killed my grandfather, the Third Tsuchikage, and humiliated Iwagakure. We just want to fight back and vent our anger!!"
Seemingly still not satisfied, Kurotsuchi added:
"Don't think you can buy us with your money, food, or other resources!"
"Iwagakure may be poor, but we are all upright and united brothers and sisters!"
Haneda smiled without responding.
Iwagakure was indeed united, but that didn't mean they didn't need money or resources.
Moreover, this unity was more evident at the lower levels, not necessarily at the top.
After all, Roshi couldn't stand Onoki's actions.
Haneda said, "I wouldn't mind using the Rinne Rebirth to revive that old guy Onoki."
"I can set an example myself, to eliminate the hatred between nations."
With that, Haneda gestured, and Orochimaru emerged from the back, standing by Haneda's side as a coffin rose from the ground.
Onoki's figure reappeared.
This wasn't Edo Tensei but a true resurrection!
Onoki, newly revived, was wary of his surroundings, especially of Haneda behind the coffin.
Having been dead for years, he had no idea what Haneda was planning.
However, Haneda paid no attention to Onoki; he didn't care.
If not for the greater good, he wouldn't have bothered reviving Onoki.
No reason, just that looking at the old man annoyed him.
Haneda then turned to the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa. After pondering for a moment, Rasa said:
"The Land of Wind's needs are similar to those of the Raikage."
"But I have a personal request."
Without hesitation, Haneda said, "Gaara?"
Rasa nodded, but Haneda didn't immediately agree, instead saying:
"That depends on his personal wishes. I have no right to interfere with his thoughts; I respect him."
Rasa gave a bitter smile, nodded, and said, "From our conversation, I understand where I went wrong."
"It was my fault. I never treated him as a son, as a real person."
Haneda didn't dwell on Gaara any further and instead pointed to the distant river:
"Lord Kazekage, I've already fulfilled the Land of Wind's desires in advance."
"This river will carry excess rainwater from here through the Land of Rain, the Land of Wind, and into the sea."
"The Land of Wind will have an oasis cutting through the desert and prosperous towns."
With that, Haneda didn't explain much more. Time alone would answer that question.
He looked at Mizukage Mei Terumi.
Mei Terumi was highly focused on Haneda, vaguely guessing his intentions.
"The Land of Water has been closed off for too long and has no major needs."
"We just hope other countries will open up to the Land of Water and conduct normal trade relations."
Hearing this, Haneda smiled.
He said, "Your idea aligns with mine, Lord Mizukage. I've long wanted to unify the ninja world and the world."
"You've all seen the outcome of this war, haven't you?"
"After the war, there are no winners, only devastation."
"I've experienced two great wars, losing too much in the process."
"Friends, family, comrades, and those who love me and whom I love."
"You all deeply understand these painful losses, don't you?"
"I want to create lasting peace, using ninjutsu for creation rather than killing."
"By unifying the resources each country possesses, we can rationally distribute them and end wars fought over resources."
"I want to create a world where everyone is happy, where the benefits of progress are felt by every individual."
"I want everyone, whether in the mountains or impoverished villages, to afford fresh bread and milk."
"I want every child to attend school and feel the warmth of education in sunlit classrooms."
"I want every patient, even those without a penny, even in tattered clothes, to receive free medical care."
"These goals can't be achieved by me alone."
"I need to integrate the world's resources, I need a stable environment, a peaceful ninja world, a world free from large-scale wars."
"That's why I invited you all here."
"Everything I've done, everything I've pushed for, is already happening in the Land of Fire, and I come with sincerity."
"I hope that through this discussion, we can establish a federation, allowing people from all nations to accept the facts of federation and unity, and then gradually implement these changes."
"Any revolution is not achieved overnight, but through sacrifices and the efforts of generations."
"Most sacrifices have ended; I hope the efforts can start today."
...
The not-so-formal Five Kage Summit concluded, and the federation was established.
The news spread quickly across the world.
On the morning the war ended.
Jiraiya sneakily arrived at the back of Konoha's hospital, hiding behind a tree near Tsunade's office.
"Even though I'm alive, that old woman Tsunade won't go back on her word, will she…"
"If I ask directly, wouldn't that be too awkward?"
"Cough, cough… Hahaha! The Toad Sage can't be afraid of awkwardness, after visiting so many places. Flirting with women should be second nature, right?"
"But then again, that old woman Tsunade doesn't know how to hold back…"
Hesitant to confess, Jiraiya hid behind the tree, unable to take a step forward.
At that moment, Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato approached, pushing his wheelchair.
"Master Jiraiya, what are you doing here!"
Yahiko casually leaned against the tree where Jiraiya was hiding and teased:
"Staring in that direction—do you have someone you like?"
"Could it be Lady Tsunade?"
"Shut up! Who's the brat!?" Jiraiya turned to look, just in time to see the face of Deva Path Pain.
He jumped up in shock, "You, you, you! You're Yahiko?"
Yahiko smiled, "Yes, Master Jiraiya, I somehow came back to life. Damn Nagato, planning to make me the leader of the Hidden Cloud Village while he stays with Konan… cough, cough."
"Master Jiraiya, you understand."
Suddenly, a fiery red piece of paper floated over, landing in Jiraiya's hand.
He unfolded it to find a wedding invitation!
His eyes widened as he looked at Nagato and Konan, finding it hard to believe that the reserved Nagato had won over a beauty!
Why him?!!
Nagato, shyly smiling, said, "Master Jiraiya, the location is in the Land of Rain, near our base."
Jiraiya watched the three leave, rubbing his eyes and muttering curses.
Why is it that after meeting countless women, I'm still single?!!
Both of his students managed to find love!
If they could, it's definitely not my problem!
Jiraiya glanced toward Tsunade's office, just as she smiled at him from the window.
"Tsu-Tsunade, good morning! Have you eaten?"
Tsunade smiled, "Not yet, how about I eat you?"
Blood gushed from Jiraiya's nose as he flew into the air, his excited face looking as lecherous as ever.
He nodded repeatedly, "Sure! Sure! Absolutely sure!!!"
Smack!
Thud!
A slap, a punch.
"Hmph, you old fool, dreaming big!" Tsunade said with a sweet smile, rubbing her fist.
When Jiraiya came to, instinctively fearing Tsunade's iron fist, she added:
"But, it'll have to wait until after the wedding, and my granduncles haven't agreed yet!"
Leaning against Jiraiya's chest, Tsunade patted his back:
"It depends on your performance from now on."
...
(The End)
