Chapter 179: Yamato's Betrayal, Asuma's Mockery, Danzo's Meltdown!

When Haneda finished speaking, the Third Hokage and others were stunned. They looked at Danzo with disbelief, suspicion, disdain, and even regret.

Haneda gestured to Kinoe to demonstrate Wood Release. A thin wooden branch, about the size of a pencil, grew and intertwined. The Third Hokage and the others were completely shocked. They hadn't expected that what Haneda claimed was true—Danzo had indeed collaborated with Orochimaru and conducted human experiments to create a Wood Release user!

As for Danzo, he was utterly hopeless. He realized that Haneda must have used genjutsu to control Kinoe. After all, he personally trained Kinoe, so betrayal was unimaginable! But Kinoe knew too many of Root's secrets, including details about the lab and Root's main base. Danzo lifted his head sharply, looking at Haneda, wondering how he managed to capture Kinoe, who spent most of his time in the Forest of Death, under Root's watchful eyes.

Seeing Danzo's confused look, Haneda smirked slightly. Catching Kinoe had indeed been a stroke of luck. Yesterday, while wandering in the Forest of Death, Haneda sensed a trace of Wood Release chakra. He tracked it, then used genjutsu to control the Root ninjas, making them believe nothing unusual had happened. With Danzo preoccupied with the Hokage election, he had neglected Kinoe, leading to the current situation.

"Minato-senpai, I'll be taking Danzo away now," Haneda said with a smile, gesturing at the eager Uchiha Police Force members. They couldn't wait to escort Danzo to the Uchiha district's prison. Indeed, the Konoha prison was located on the edge of the Uchiha district, close to the now virtually extinct Senju clan grounds.

On the way, Danzo remained silent, which irked Haneda. Mockingly, he said, "What's wrong, Danzo of the 'naturally evil' Shimura clan? Can't find your usual smile?"

"You!" Danzo instantly recalled Sarutobi's son, Asuma, blaming him for corrupting the young. But, despite the insults, Danzo held his anger, merely shooting Haneda an angry glare.

Not one to let Danzo off easily, Haneda continued to provoke him. "Shimura's 'naturally evil' old man—never thought you'd see your precious Kinoe fall into my hands, did you?"

"You even taught him to be loyal to Konoha," Danzo finally retorted. "He'd never betray the village or support a naturally evil Uchiha like you!"

Haneda patted Kinoe's head and laughed, asking, "So, Kinoe, what do you call someone who performs human experiments, shelters traitors, and pits comrades against each other?"

"A scumbag—an old ghost who deserves to be remembered in disgrace!" Kinoe replied without hesitation. Under Haneda's guidance, he had moved from Root's darkness to the light.

Danzo looked at Kinoe in disbelief, expecting to see the signs of genjutsu. But Kinoe's eyes were clear and honest, filled with sincere disgust!

Unable to contain his fury, Danzo shouted, "Don't you remember who saved and trained you?! Without Root, you'd be nothing!"

Kinoe replied, "Root never saved me; it treated me as a mere experiment. It was Haneda who led me to the light!"

"And today, I have a new name—a name that represents light. From now on, call me Yamato!"

Danzo was devastated. His carefully groomed Kinoe had been swayed by that "naturally evil" Uchiha!

At this moment, Asuma approached, spotting Haneda escorting Danzo. Laughing, he mocked, "Well, well, if it isn't the 'naturally evil' old ghost Danzo! Captured already?"

He slapped Danzo across the face, saying, "That's for Haneda! You tormented someone who embodies the true Will of Fire!"

Asuma slapped him again. "And that's for the corruption you brought to Konoha, pushing away Lady Tsunade and disappointing the village!"

With a bewildered look, Danzo realized that Asuma, his old friend's son, was the one mocking him now.

Danzo's spirit broke. "I've borne the darkness for Konoha's sake, and none of you understand my greatness!"

"Shut up, Shimura's naturally evil old man!" Asuma sneered, kicking Danzo. "You're a prisoner and a disgrace to Konoha—don't shout at its loyal ninja, especially not Haneda!"

The nearby Uchiha laughed quietly, while Danzo, overwhelmed by disbelief and resentment, finally gave in. Even Haneda, who was usually composed, couldn't help but laugh at the scene..
