Chapter 198: Mizuki's Plan
"Uh..."
Sasuke's single sentence instantly made Naruto's eyes widen.
He knew what Sasuke was talking about. Even though he swore he would become Hokage, the thought of Takemi being the examiner still made him scared.
"You guys... what are you worried about?"
Hinata had been quiet, but seeing Naruto and Sasuke both fall silent with serious expressions, she asked curiously.
"Yeah, what's there to be afraid of?"
Kiba, while rubbing his puppy Akamaru in his arms, also asked strangely.
"Yeah, you guys look so weird."
Choji nodded, chewing on potato chips as he spoke.
"It's just a graduation exam, there won't be any problems."
His words made Ino and Sakura nod, though they too were a bit nervous, while only Shikamaru yawned, tilting his head.
But soon, when Naruto spoke, he couldn't hold back either.
"I'm worried about that bastard Takemi."
Naruto swallowed and spoke, and Sasuke involuntarily added from the side, "Although he is a good person, some of his personality... now that he's a Jonin, if he applies to supervise our exam, then..."
This statement made all of them fall silent.
Although a Jonin didn't necessarily need to supervise Genin, considering Takemi's personality, it seemed like something he really could do.
"If that's really the case, then we're doomed..."
"Oh no, won't I be miserable when I go back?"
"As expected of the person who beat his classmates into the hospital, too terrifying..."
The group fell silent, seemingly sensing something terrifying, even Hinata's eyes widened.
What they didn't notice, however, was Mizuki staring at them from outside the classroom door, especially at Naruto.
"Nine-Tails brat..."
"This time, I'll have to rely on you!"
A few days later.
The Ninja Academy's graduation exam finally arrived.
When the candidates of this year learned that the content of the exam was the Clone Jutsu, some were happy and some were sad.
However, this did not include Naruto and the others, the Clone Jutsu was not a difficult task for them.
Even Naruto was the same.
There was a Nine-Tails inside Naruto interfering with him, making it difficult for him to precisely use Chakra for Ninjutsu.
But Jiraiya had been back in the village for so long and had taught him, how could he not have done anything?
What truly made them happy was knowing that the examiner was not Takemi. Even Sasuke breathed a sigh of relief and smiled
"Yay!"
The exam went smoothly. Even Naruto successfully passed the assessment. The moment he received his forehead protector from Iruka, he was ecstatic.
However, just as he was about to rush back to show off to Takemi, he was suddenly called out by Mizuki.
"Congratulations, Naruto, you successfully passed the assessment."
"Hehe, thank you, Mizuki-sensei."
It was already dusk, and Naruto was scheduled last. After his exam, there was basically no one left.
Though he was anxious, he still patiently smiled at Mizuki.
"But don't get too proud. Stepping out of the Academy is just the beginning." Mizuki smiled, adopting the demeanor of a good teacher.
"After leaving the Academy, your Jonin instructors will assess you, and that's the most crucial part. I heard you have a good relationship with Jonin Takemi. You know his experience, right?"
"Takemi..."
Thinking of Takemi 'hitting his teammates' and graduating alone, and then thinking of Kiba who seemed to really want to be his teammate, Naruto couldn't hold back for a moment. It was all Takemi's fault for setting a bad example!
"And Jonin Takemi is a true genius!"
Mizuki couldn't help but sigh with emotion, though a hint of jealousy flashed in his eyes.
"He became a Chunin in his first year of graduation and a Jonin in his second year. In the future, he might even become the Hokage of the village."
"Hokage..."
Naruto pursed his lips, this sentence stimulated him a bit.
"However, I still really hope you can graduate successfully."
Mizuki patted Naruto's shoulder, then leaned in conspiratorially and whispered.
"By the way, I heard there's a sealing scroll in the village that records very powerful Jutsu. As long as you learn one of them, you can become a Ninja comparable to the Hokage..."
"Hokage..."
"Yes, Hokage."
Mizuki looked at the confused Naruto, realizing he might have been too eager, and immediately added.
"Don't think too much. Congratulations on your successful graduation, and forget what I just said. I just know you have a very good relationship with Jonin Takemi, so..."
"After all, he's a genius of the village, a true genius, perhaps the future Hokage. As his friend..."
"Actually, whether it's me or anyone else, we don't want you to be too bad..."
"Hmph, so that's how it is. I thought there would be some kind of trick."
On the roof of the Academy, Takemi and Kakashi stood together, watching the two below. Takemi couldn't help but purse his lips.
"Though not clever, it might still provoke Naruto."
Kakashi, beside him, couldn't help but find it amusing, but then he shook his head.
"After all, your influence on Naruto is quite significant."
Even though they were far away, they were not ordinary Ninja. Once they knew who the target was, they had their own methods to obtain information.
Although Mizuki kept his voice low, his words could still reach their ears.
"Hmph, no wonder the students nowadays are getting worse and worse. So that's where the problem lies." Takemi crossed his arms and spoke disdainfully.
"Last time those two brats blew up someone's house, and their first thought was to drag me down with them. What happened to the 'bond' they talked about?"
"..."
At these words, Kakashi's eyes turned deadpan, while Takemi continued to grumble.
"Couldn't they just say to me, 'You go first, I'll cover you'?"
"..."
"Konoha's education system deserves to be severely criticized. But it's strange, why didn't I turn bad when Mizuki was teaching my class back then?"
"Can you please stop talking?"
Kakashi couldn't hold it in anymore. Is it possible that you are even worse than Mizuki?
And didn't the collapse of Konoha's education system start with you?
"Forget it, what are you planning to do?"
Kakashi was too lazy to dwell on it. He sighed and asked.
"Also, Naruto won't really fall for this, will he?"
"Naruto shouldn't be that foolish. After all, Jiraiya has taught him for so long."
Takemi thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "But he'll most likely try to do it himself. That idiot has had this idea for a while, so let's just wait and see."
